Got myself a Darklight Cuirass from the Speed Run chest at Cutter's Cry today. So damn lucky with that whopping roll of a 32!

Well one thing's for sure... I'm glad I'm a highlander lol

Robe looks awesome, but it seems meh on stats.

The only thing you get over that Is Mp+120 Enfeeble magic +15 and refresh +3

Other than that 1 IV Int to a hat and piety to a body and it's not much different.

Don't see those stats making a huge difference.

The robe is just convenient for trash up to bosses is all. It's the proverbial Vermillion Cloak.

Except proportionately -- at least Vermilion Cloak was 3MP/tick out of a 850-1000 MP pool, instead of...3750.

They needed a separate set for blm instead of trying to combine it with whm and brd. Pretty much all slots are useless for them.

Any item with "Adds refresh effect" increases the refresh by 1/tick.

New AFv3+2 are 2mp/tick, i think it's only thoses. Vermy +1 was for the MP+ bonus.

Comparably Vermy cloak was still pretty invaluable though even with that 1 mp/ tic since the only way to restore mp in ffxi was refresh or resting. Here you just stand still for 10 seconds and you have a 4th of your mp back. With the cowl you are going to get what? About one extra combo off over the course of a boss fight?

Basically just throw yourself at the content every waking hour. Generally, I find when I've abandoned all hope and am completely lost in thought at the time of opening chests, is when most of our Darklight drops.

Not being on Gungnir is the second secret requirement, I swear with as many people that do speed runs as we have walking around youd think thered be atleast one body around. I haven't seen anyone.
