I am the person who started the "2.0 excitement" thread that Yoshi personally posted in...
I definitely try to be positive, and I'm excited about this game... I'm no complainer (most of the time)

And its true.. People have a right to complain... Complaints and bad reviews are what got Yoshi this gig in the first place
It wasn't numbers... The game did over half a mill at launch...

I think some people compare us to other cultures... And say we are selfish complainers.. but free speech is ingrained into who we are...
we don't stifle opinions... even opposing ones
In fact... wanting to block/censor posts that don't agree with your position is contrary to our entire way of life in North America (Except for maybe Fox News)

If people want to vent and complain... let them... Yoshi is a grown man... I am sure he can handle it...

when i worked residential i did deal with customers on a personal daily basis. if you don't think, even in industrial fields, you get direct feedback on the quality of your work you are mistaken. sure the direct feedback if from one company to another instead of person to person, but the quality of your work is still under direct scrutiny.

no it's more than that. the release of xiv reminds me of when i did residential work before i went into industrial. say you have a guy come out and put a roof on your house and that roof leaks(the original release) and the company says they will come back out and fix the leak in the roof(the remake of the game). i am not going to thank the company for coming back and fixing the mistake they made in the first place while they are still working on it. they messed up the first time so the roof may still leak once it's finished.

if that company came back and got the job right the second time i may thank the company for coming back, but may not since the original was a bad job. when it comes to doing your job right you can either get it done right the first time or expect constant complaints while you are fixing the issue.

The only thing that I am afraid of is all of the complainers turning this game into easy mode. Please noooo ; ; The last FF MMO was very challenging...that is much more fun then having everything handed to you. I want to see what Yoshi and his dev team have planned for us..not what whiny players want. Some ideas are good yes and some things do need to be implemented and changed but please no easy mode.

I thank the dev team by paying and getting all my friends to play...trying to promote the game with some cosplay outfits I made and other things. I've got nearly all of my friends coming for when 2.0 comes out :)

We can only hope that Yohi's big picture vision of the game is a challenging experience for gamers and that he holds true to that throughout this overhaul...

This thread, just like nearly 3/4 of the message boards has degenerated to rockbottom.

What's with the hostility stirring on these message boards?

Anyhow, I agree with the OP - Most of the people that play XIV have a tendency to act like a spoiled little brat everytime the patches are up. I understand that it's difficult to make everyone happy in an MMO, but come on... Some of the people make ridiculous suggestions on the forums just because they feel like they are special...

ah well, hopefully they won't listen to all our crap suggestions.

My Sig says it all... lol. i did post a "first time back after fees" topic stating my enjoyment of recent changes and why i want to continue playing. not all posts are negative, unfortunately thats what gets the attention and not the "fuzzy kitty news" reports.
