While that maybe true, You also have to consider the amount of work that's being done by SE 2 Projects 1.xx and 2.0, They did the Best they can to please the customers while doing this.. what I call.. "Nearly impossible" task.. But hey.. what do I know... All I know is.. I understand the OP Plight, however, at this point of time.. Applications are put in.. not many worlds are open.. and he choose not to read before clicking.. (or even think logically he/she didn't have to do anything at all) and made an error.. not much more I can say... :/.

Should the OP have tried to transfer? No, that's established. Ya, the only fault I can find within the information is they don't make it a point to mention that "if you don't choose you will automatically be sent to the default server option of your server". Since the option for Default Server is listed with the other servers one may assume that you have to select to define your option if they didn't notice that "World Selected For Transfer" clearly states "Default Merge World" for those who haven't picked.

If you think about it though it would've been pretty goofy on SE's part if they required everyone to make an option, then what do you do about the people who are currently unsubbed do they just mix and match then across different servers? Nope, just put them on the merged server that their server was picked for that was the whole point of the above graph, the above graph made it a point to say that if you don't want to choose, then when the server merge occurs everyone who didn't make it a point to pick a server will be sent to this server.

They could however have changed it so that on the drop down menu gotten rid of the "Default Server" as an option once the 12th passed since people may have seen it after the 12th and thought oh I guess I should pick this option to move forward. Though I guess the other fault could be that instead of the information notifying you that this server is full it should have said "You have already been selected for default server" but I'm guessing that when they did pick the default server it said "This Server is Full" so with that small mess up I can understand why people may be a tad angered by it all.

Hopefully if SE does listen though perhaps they can give people the chance to pick default but only for those who may have picked the wrong server during this period of time.

Like I said, it is established OP shouldn't have tried to transfer. Now, get back to my question. Why is it logical for SE put an option on a player's profile that would create a situation in which they are being sent to a server they had no intention of ever going to? This could have been easily avoided via the suggestion I made in my last post and numerous other ways.

I know how fond you are of platinum armor and white horses, but come on...

It was user error, but SE is still partly to blame. The way it should have worked is if you choose a server that is full it should have automatically put you back to the default world transfer, not put you on another server entirely since, you know, you didn't actually move anywhere. Pretty much this. The OP obviously understands the mistake, but that's still no excuse for it being UNFIXABLE when the merger hasn't even happened yet. Bad customer service, bad public relations. Bad company.

And lets not forget how the system was in its first iteration, and that the backlash was such that SE had to go and completely revamp it. The OPs action would have been correct if they only read the first update from twitter before the revamp, which is what a lot of people would do seeing how terrible this game currently is. Casually keeping tabs isn't a crime.

Okay.. so what's to do when every Server is full? Kick someone out of there "rightful spot" to the Server when it was the OP's Mistake for doing so? Don't you think the last person that Transferred there would be pissed off because he got his spot ripped away from him? I don't think that's right either....

The server was "full" before the OP tried to transfer (to their own server). They not only got a full message, but they gave up their OWN spot and were forced elsewhere without confirmation. Did that one spot they left open up for somebody else? No, and if did this would be a non-issue because the OP could have then just chosen to take back the "spot" they just vacated.

I think its fairly obvious they understand that. They went through the entire process and selected Durandal. Now they're being put on Ragnarok with no option to cancel, and no confirmation.

Until you click confirm there isn't movement (and thus your spot lost) from your default server, you gotta click and click again to apply, its not an oops that can be made, if they obviously knew they didn't want to be on ragnarok they should have cancelled instead of submitting an application to move to ragnarok. Cancel = Undo and you can't tell me anyone doesn't know that much. lol

Here is one point I agree with. I was surprised that they didn't say up front 'do nothing if you don't want to change worlds.'

To be safe on the first day of the merger period I went back and reread dev posts on the topic of the merges and there was a mention of 'not having to do anything,' but it was a bit vague and it was said it in passing. SE probably should have put a large label warning people 'don't do anything if you want to be automatically merged to the default world for your server' on the merger login page.

I know it may seem obvious, but it's not unreasonable to want to be sure you won't end up on a totally different world from your in game friends. This could especially be true for people who haven't played in months, but got SE's e-mail about the mergers taking place. A comment up front from SE would have reassured people that they could safely do nothing and end up in the right place.

I'm not trying to argue that SE is responsible for mistakes made by the uninformed. If people are unsure what to do they can contact the SE support center and ask.

SE is clear with the process. Discussion also going around. If you still not sure, you can always ask. I feel smart in this discussion, I dont know why.

What I find funny is, generally when you have an MMO that merge servers you never have to buy a transfer/fill out an app or whathaveyou unless you wanted to be off the merged servers, why do people think that would be different here?

There were a bunch of threads asking if they had to select a server to stay with their community. Guess what? They all had the same answer...No

Be pissed at SE all you want but your rage is aimed at the wrong people this time. Just like you posted this thread you could have posted one that would actually have helped you beforehand. Now you have 3 options:

1) Rage Quit

2) Create a new character

3) Create a new character and have someone you know PL you

This game needs a tight grip on all its active players right now, but you can't do much about those that make their own ignorant choices.

You know what the saddest part of all is? Because of that one guy who started all of this, these "OMG I'm transferring away from all of my friends, WTF, SE?!?!?" kept sprouting up. Because according to the OP later in that same thread, SE contacted the guy to try and help.

See what happens when SE does try to help? The floodgates of derp burst open and destroy everything :(

People even predicted this breakdown of said floodgates lol. Do it for one, you gotta do it for all.

Unfortunately, this probably isn't what the OP wants to hear but.. considering that the highest dow/dom they have is 35, literally no land classes, and one level 6 hand class. They might as well reroll on durandal.

Again, the OP had confusion, and selected to transfer to the realm he was already designated to transfer to, according to the OP. This means the system checked Transfer destination: Said destination was full. The system checked the server he was on [aka the same server], which again checked and found to be full. The system then evidently defaulted him to Ragnarok.

However, I tried to transfer to Durandal when it said it was full [on the off chance that there was a spot that was open at the exact second I would press it], and I believe my server was full as well. I didn't get bumped to Ragnarok. That part doesn't match up quite as well with what happened to the OP.

If the OP was telling the truth, customer service should be able to investigate that claim; resolve his claim, and they retain a customer. If Square Enix can't do things like that, just like what I stated in my thread, then they lose customers.

Also, those of you posting the translation thread as being a reference for everyone to know how to transfer off of the server perfectly is really disgusting. An unofficial translation from someone who could potentially translate false or inaccurate information [not that he does] should not be the primary source of information for a player.

Some of you need to accept that Square Enix doesn't manage their CS well enough and that it will hurt the game over time. This isn't 2002.

Your issue and the OP issue is one's own ignorance vs a bug in a system. There is no way you would have known about that bug however the OP could have found his answer to prevent what has occurred.

The OP should have done some research before making hast decisions that would affect him drastically. For me it's the first page but it might be the second for others. Just a little bit of reading and he would have found his answer.

Where have you been? Who here doesn't know how bad SE customer support is? That's why we do our best to avoid needing them.

Sure they could use a better customer support team but I doubt they will turn their machines off anytime before 2.0.
