If they didn't hunch like orcs I'd definitely be one on my alt. This is my internal WoW player showing though lol.

I see plenty of Viera on Goblin and I love being one. Their height doesn’t bother me and most of my glam looks really good on them. I actually like the stubble “bouncy” ears animation when walking and running. Just wish I could turn off battle voices.
There's a good mix of us over on Coeurl and a few of my friends have shifted their alts to test the race out, I just jumped in though. First question I ever asked my friends when I considered trying this game was 'Can I be a Viera?' Only had to wait four years for the answer to be yes. I've spent the bulk of those four years as a femroe and while I do miss certain things about being a femroe (it's really weird to see people taller than I am and my battle voice is a little...rough) I love the stoic Viera emotes and the overall look.
Now to patiently wait to use all the hairstyles I've painstakingly collected over the years...
They can't wear most hats and they look like ordinary humans but just with long ears, nothing really special about them. In comparison Au Ra and Miqo got fancy tails
I gave Viera a try but what I feared came true with the race. Right now the Race doesn't have much going on and I change my appearance very frequently. Back to Au Ra I go and probably gonna stay as.
I was never expecting to be overwhelmed by a flood of bunnies, but I do know one thing: If I had been living on a stranded island the last two years and then logged into the game today, one thing I would be saying is, "What is up with all these bunnies and lions?"
From observation alone, it would appear the catgirls still favor the majority. It might have to do with the size of the Viera, as some have suggested. After seeing so many and taking screenshots with them, I can't really imagine them being petite. There is definitely more female to love with them.
I was expecting plenty of Hrothgar come this expansion. When I looked at many polls, it was pretty clear that a lot of players subtly wanted this race. They just weren't as loud as the bunny faithful. I am really enjoying having Hrothgars in my groups though. I wonder how many "Beauty and the Beast" RPs are going on right now as I type this xD.
This thread is filled with anecdotal evidence that doesn't amount to much of anything. You will not get anywhere close to an accurate depiction of Viera's popularity until the census reports come in.
no headgear....sooner or later you'll miss it
I switched from my Au'Ra to a Viera and have never been happier with my character! Being an older female gamer, I don't want to play a cutesy character. The Elezen and Roe never really appealed to me so I settled on Au'Ra. When I changed to the Viera, I fell in love with how much more mature they feel to me over Miqote or Au'Ra and still feel feminine at the same time. Finding the race that suits you makes the game so much more enjoyable and enriching.
I'll make an alt at some point.
I think it's funny that people wanted a small Viera... If you played FFXII then you should have already been aware that Viera were a tall race. On Hyperion there are A LOT of Viera and Hrothgar. I have seen a few people switch back to Miqo or Au Ra, but there are way less Femzen and Maleqote than prior to the expac. I think once more time has gone on the races will even out a bit more, but Viera and Hrothgar both are very popular at the moment.
Having previously been a Lalafell and having doubled in height with 5.0, this definitely took some getting used to but I'm loving the view from up here. Lalafell are so small now! I just want to pick them up. Not to do anything, just pick them up and hold them there like a half-arsed version of the Lion King.
As for the thread in general I'm seeing a lot of the new races but I admit that could be confirmation bias as I'm more likely think "oh look, one of the new races" than I am to note seeing any of the older races. Except Lalafell. I'm always on the lookout for them and seeing worryingly few. Personally I'm loving being a big goth bunny.
The lack of hairstyles and headgear was a bit of a disappointment but the biggest negative (for me) was how reserved their emotes are compared to my Highland gal.
I suspect, like several other posters here, that those details had at least a little impact on the population.
I've only seen certain RP players and certain genders switch to viera. Seems to be the new popular race for LGBT month (aside from male miqo'te, go figure!)
Which is why i wish they had bothered to actually keep the 2 sects of each race different enough such as Midlander and Highlander Hyur.
Instead all the option offer is slightly different skincolor...
Perhaps you missed it, but they actually made around 540 pieces of headgear available for viera and Hrothgar. This wasn't planned. The development team actually did it in their free time behind Yoshi P's back. From the sound of it, they only plan to add more as time goes on. Headgear isn't as lacking as people like to believe.
That's what I figure. The deeper we go into this expansion and going forward, eventually, the Viera will have helmets, hoods and etc. from every single piece of gear.
As a note, I do honestly miss headgear since I'm huge into headgear as you can see in my signature, but I got over it really quick since they don't act as cutesy as the other races. I'm not in my 20s and into that kawaii stuff.
Viera were everywhere on the first day of Early Access.
I'm incredibly happy with my Viera. I knew I would be - it finally feels like my character is... my character. It's weird to describe but it's like my Au Ra for the past few years was just an awkward place holder. Miqo'te never interested me, they were a pretty boring race. I liked Elezen but their shoulders and neck would eventually get to my. Femroe have no ankles and that didn't sit right with me. I finally found Pene's "perfect fit."
(Also apparently all my alts since they're all rabbits now too.)
I honestly don't get this, lol.
Being tall is exactly what bunny does. So for anyone who wants to be short--rolling a bunny is like defying logic and it confuses the heck out of me! If people want to be short--there are literally short races. Why pick one of the tallest if tall isn't their desire?
I love being tall, because the taller/bigger I am--the easier I am to see my character's position in a stack of players. I could never play a short character and get lost in the crowd.
If you compare a highlander female to a female elf--it looks like the elf has some kind of head deformity. It's why I could never get around elves.Quote:
I never noticed just how tiny elezen heads actually are until I stood right next to them in height!

I used to main a night elf in Warcraft, so the tall/muscular build is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I'm ok with others not enjoying it. I want it for what it is. I'm ok that other people are enjoying their niche. Though, I get a bit salty when I see people cry about bunny being tall. Like serious. Go play something else. There are short races for a reason. Don't treat on my dream-race and then cry that it's not like your other races. Go play those races. Leave mine alone!
Edit: I like how Viera are thin and muscular. Not fat boned like roe. I like the toned-curvy look. Not the beefcake look. Which is why I never played roe.
Been seeing plenty of Viera on Ragnarok actually.
Specially Sprouts xD
Are you kidding me? I've seen more Viera than anything the last few days.
I admit I used to be expectant about Vieras. However, I didn't feel much love for them when they released their first teaser video. I don't know, somehow they didn't fit the magical, exotic, and beautiful image I had in my mind.
Seeing their character creation in detail didn't help to change my mind; rather, it only confirmed that I wasn't really a fan.
I still made one because making characters is my life, but um, somehow I'm not in a hurry or eager to start playing her.
This seems about right honestly, though take away highlander and replace with lalafell.
Highlander,Elezen and roe are about the least played race.
Most because they're((Not to offend anybody that play them)) not attractive to major of players and among other things.
The only reason I went back to being a smol Au Ra was because Viera can't use the new Great Lengths hairstyle. :(
I will always be a miqo jones. But it is nice seeing bunnies and lion bros now. Now I have more anime animal friends to stare at. but they still pat me T.T I also see them abit everywhere.. but I think most will stay who they are... cause they aren't the best atm.
slutty rabbits all over my server, the 15 year olds are out in force.

At the bottom under the pictures. From Yoshi P himself.
I think it’s mostly because they are significantly taller than the races most people play as. They also don’t have any of the hairstyles people bought/earned in game, and I know that was a big thing for some. I love my Viera though and I don’t think I’ll ditch the height, elegance and high heels for Au Ra ever again.
