As I mentioned in another thread, my reasoning for it is because Ivalice moogles (And FFVI/FFIX moogles) are the only type I could see using a wide variety of weapons and armor. They could be another clan of moogle.

Personally, solely based on Ivalice style, I like the concept that Viera's are stealthy and assasin-like. Also there was a lot of talk about lizard-men, and I really liked the Bangaa and Nu Mou.

I never cared too much to play any race other than Hume/Hyur so more variety would be nice. I would like to play as another race but all of the current ones just seem like mild variations of each other. Would at least add more flavor/variety to the game.

I'd support a bill to abolish miqote and magically turn them all into Viera (as this game should have been set on Ivalice anyway :P )

In fact I'd suppport a bill to magically teleport the entire population of Erozea to Ivalice in 2.0 and have Eorzea explode in a flaming ball of suckage.

Lala will magically turn into Moogles of Ivalice, Roegadyn will be Bangas, Hyur will be hume, Miqote will be Viera....everything will cease to suck.

If the poll question was to address a playable race, I would say bangaa. But I'm amusing it meant npc's and enemy monsters.

I picked tribes, I would rather more variations on what we have and will be added with 2.0, but I support ANYTHING EXCEPT demons and lizards...

Hmmm, actually, I selected reptilian demi-humans only for the sake of variety. I really like the idea of more tribes, though. Even though I usually support mammalian demi-humans, we already have the Miqo'te. Maybe other tribes of Miqo'te could have bunny ears and tails to quell everyone's preferences? Anyways, I think reptilian demi-humans would be nice, way nicer than beastman, anyways. And I guess it could easily fit in Garlean's domains, or even be related to Gridania's seedseers?

Anyways, whatever they decide, more options are always nicer than less of them.

I would love to see more Beast Tribes, But I dont wanna see more Beast Tribes in the Current Areas. So unless SE is intending to Open up more New Zones, I'd rather they just release the ones like Sahaigin into a Combat State.

To the same effect, I don't see the point of adding more Races unless your planning to release more cities.

To those who oppose mixed races like lalafell-miqo´te, lalafell-anything than isn´t another Lalafell, just think that it could be much more worse.

Don´t get me wrong, I think Vieras are cool I really like them, but they are from Ivalice and I would prefer not to start fusing words, althought SE already said that they want to implement things from others FF worlds so, how knows....
But still, having miqo´tes already, another race so similar is a little of waste, you know, in my opinion. I would greatly prefer if they gave us more option for the races we have and being able to play as a mixed race would add a lot to this.

Mixing races would make most sense, creates variety without butchering lore and magically creating races that werent there before or trying to act like they suddenly migrated from another place.

I found it hard to believe in FFXI and FFXIV we live in a world peacefully coexisting with several other races and the one and only mixed person was Lilisette from wings of the goddess(she looked great by the way). I would love to see more design of mixed races.

I think they should just add all the options they listed as playable races. I wanted to be a Viera from the beginning, and tried to make my Miqo'te look like one as much as possible, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't love to see people playing other demi-humans, or beastmen, or some lizard-race. Everyone should be able to get something they like.

There's already enough cuteness in this game. Bring on the wolfmen and demonic races, I say.

Part of the problem is that they're animated so cutely and we rarely ever hear them speak. But the minute that you hear Papalymo open his mouth, that misconception that Lalafell are sweet and childlike goes out the window.

Just like how Gnomes in WoW are small and childlike, but their crazy laughs and voices make them anything but cute. They're all like little mad scientists.

This game seriously needs more voiceovers. >.<

Ok there's a big misunderstanding going on. (As usual in these forums <3)

No one is saying anyone who likes Lalafell/is a Lalafell is a pedo. (If anyone says that, then they're trolling and/or idiots.)

The only reason the subject of pedo-ness came up is because of cross-species breeding. Since Lalafell look very child-like to other races besides the Lalafell, the implications for cross-species breeding are disturbing because of the pedo aspect.

To be clear, it's just the IMPLICATIONS of it that are disturbing. The implications only exist in our minds and possibly parts of the game lore. The actual RESULTS, cute hybrids of Lalafells and other races could be awesome and not disturbing at all. I support mixed races in FFXIV :)

They should just add all of them...except that mixed thing is a bit odd. The other thing they need is give us more customization options. I would really like to adjust my bust/waist/height...I don't want to have to pick a specific race just to have "curves" or whatever.

I liked all the choices personally, I think it would make the game way more diverse if we had a bunch of different races to play as. I chose the demon-ish race with horns in the poll, but I would really love to see the mixed races added too. Miqotelala would be interesting to see lol. Really? I found it to be one of the most pausible and reasonables option. Even the Lore confirm that is possible and SPOILERS OF THE ULDAH MAIN STORY: Weren´t those two Lalafell brothers (I can´t remember the name sorry) proposing to a female Miqo´te ? END OF THE SPOILERS

I think mixed races sound good. Anyway, as I said before, a lot more of variety would be nice, demon like, lizard like, whatever would be cool.

And it will make sense on 2.0, if the 7th Umbra Era finally come, Eorzea , or even the entire world will change, beastmen could end allied with human and if the population is low, intercross realtionships could become more common because of the necesitty of procreation or the lack of a mate of the same species in one specific place. Now if mixed races are added, will be they be fertile or not ?. I think this is important fact of Lore we should know.

I'm against the mixed race characters. I'd prefer it if the species kept their own distinct characteristics. Too much mix and match of the abilities made a lot of the classes feel too samey, I don't want this to happen to our characters as well.

First was going to choose the Viera-like creatures. But then I saw the mixed race, and was like :O that'd be awesome. Imagining a Lala-miqo as a tiny person with cat ears and tail. <3 Some could get interesting though, Elezen-Roegadyn o.o; Would be fun to play. ^^ Though they'll probably be just NPCs, since assuming the people at 2.0 wouldn't get to choose this race.

I like this idea. Having voted for Viera, I would prefer to have Miqo'te replaced by them rather than coexist with them. It would be awesome to have the Bangaas, as well, and Ivalice Moogles trump Lalafell any day of the week. Don't see it happening as that would require a complete rewrite of the entire game's lore, but it's nice to hope.

I've got a sneaking suspicion that beastmen/mixed-races will win the poll, anyways :P
