Female Hrothgar as a playable race. Show your support!

YES to bara female Hrothgar and elegant bunny men. A bump from me.

+1 to both. I typically always play female beast races when I get the chance, i.e. Char/Tauren, so I'd be so down for a female Hrothgar.

Posted similar in the Viera thread, but, please devs! Add female Hrothgar! Genderlocks do not belong in 2019. They are old and have no place in FFXIV. Gender equality for all!

Agree. I understand that it takes a lot of work to make a playable race, but gender-locked races are a disappointing step backwards from a team that has proven it's capable of delivering proper male & female options for each race since 2.0.

Please add playable female
Hrothgar AND playable male Viera to the game! The way Yoshida worded it made it sound like they were considering female Hrothgar already but not male Viera - gender locks on either race are NOT OKAY!

Hello! Gender-locking is lame and archaic, as well as nonsensical in this case; think back to the time when a gender-lock was previously attempted and how poorly it'd gone before. Gender-locks are non-inclusive, and this move was a complete disappointment to the community. Female Hrothgar would be a step in the right direction for XIV, and gaming in general, with the only other real representation of this kind being the Charr, as many others have stated. ( Not to mention the obvious knowledge that female Ronso already exist anyway, in their respective canons )

That being said, when this was first announced, I created a petition, which can be viewed / signed here, for further feedback purposes, if anyone wishes to look, though it's received a fair amount of malice and trolling, its been a means to unify those opposed to this sort of thing: https://www.change.org/p/square-enix...cking-in-ffxiv

I would be more inclined to play a leaner female Hrothgar than the current design of the males. I'd love to see female Hrothgar added in any capacity however! As a male Viera supporter, I also give my support to female Hrothgar!

I would actually either fantasia an existing alt, or create a new one for a female Ronso.

Gender locks are in some ways worse than no race at all. You can see what you could be, but aren't allowed.

FFX has always been my absolute favorite FF game, and it seems so weird to me that they would even use the name Ronso for them on the First while then gender-locking what was clearly a fairly evenly split gender race in FFX. I love being tall buff monstery ladies in mmos so I know if female Hrothgar were a thing I would make a permanent switch (or at least pour a ton of love into an alt) in a heartbeat! :O

This is why people would've accepted "sorry no viera/ronso yet" for shadow bringers if they actually finished one whole race. "We needed a beast race real bad guys, it was super important to add them, but no girls allowed" SUCKS.

Definitely would love to see them come around to adding in the females, I get that there are costs to making more player models but would love if they could add in these and the male Viera as soon as they get the resources and opportunity to add them in

I'm in support for having both female Hrothgar and Male Viera.

FFXIV has been of the most open games I've ever played, allowing so much freedom between your job preference, glamour options, and personalizing your character to such an effect. I don't want to have that freedom be restricted for people looking to switch to these races, nor exclude anyone from playing the game because of them.

Please allow us to have both genders for these races!

This is my first time posting in this forum

I've come to show my support for both Male Viera and Female Hrothgar to be considered as playable.

Rarity in lore is very weak reasoning for gender-locking these races.
Male Keeper's of the Moon Miqo'te are meant to be equally as rare as male Viera.

There are lots of ways using the Lore you could make them playable, such as the differences between shards

The game once celebrated for it's removal of gender-locking Roes' and Miqo' is now falling for those same mistakes and causing discourse within the community.

I was predicting Ronso from the lion T-shirt and got very hype as a primarily Highlander/Roe player. Having female Ronso would be great because the literally strong women in this game are like the coolest characters in any game? I can't remember any other titles off the top of my head where I can be a 2 meter tall hunk of muscle lady.

I realize that developing a specific gender for a race is both astonishigly cost and time consuming. From designing the base, their customization options, animating unique emotes etc. Not to mention the QA-testing required to make sure armour fits the right way and that the dialogue and flavour text is correctly displayed. So I can absolutely understand why it's unreasonable to expect to recieve both female/male hrothgar/viera with the same expansion. And I'm not sure I necessarily think it's the wrong decision to include one gender of each to start with. But that's what I'd like it to be, a start.

I would love to see female hrothgar and male viera appear in a later expansion. Game development is difficult and time consuming and you can never please everybody but hopefully us showing our opinions, in a hopefully civilized and balanced way, can influence the decision-making moving forward.

I'd love female Hrothgar as an option, because female characters deserve a beastly race too.

Adding support for female Hrothgar! Awesome, savage-looking ladies are just as necessary as male viera. In this day and age, player choice is what matters, so I only think it's right that each player be allowed to choose which gender they want to play of the available races.

This has my full support! After the huge deal that was made out of adding male Miqo'te and female Roegadyn I find it hard to believe that they didn't plan on adding the equivalents later, especially with an even larger (and vocal) fanbase this time around. On the off chance this wasn't considered though.. I really hope the team take this overwhelming reaction on board. How could they not?

I think it's important to have as much choice possible when it comes to character creation in role playing games because a game is more satisfying when you can express yourself through your character and feel proud of and connected to them.

I thought we were done with genderlocking after v1 :'(
