There is no way I would support the devs after what they've done to the Blue Mage fans.
Hello Mr. Dimension Traveller. We're very pleased to welcome you in our dimension, and are very interested in the technology and knowledge you used to break the limit of time and space. Please contact the CERN for further information.
if the comunity asks for a new race im definitly sure for both sex not only female or male yes we waited for more then 2 years but never thought that yoshi would come with a gender lock option and presenting it like its realy normal and common we are in 2019 and we dont realy care about the lore, like the did it for the miqote male now the male miqote is everywhere so comming with cheap excuse '' they dont fit the lore '' is the most unbelieveable funny think i was shocked when i saw the forum with gender lock topics and searched youtube and forums im realy dissapionted we never asked for gender lock and SE promised for never ever gender locks in future
As kind return, I'll repeat myself for the umpteenth time: Arguments like this are along the same lines of tankinis and pigsuit glamours. Players such as yourself use arguments like these as valid reason to lift restrictions. These collaboration items and glamours that we can obtain have absolutely nothing to do with lore. They are in-game items that we can obtain for fun and that is really the end of it. You're not going to find them in any of the pages of the lore books, or mentioned during the MSQ. Do you honestly think because you can ride yo-kai mounts or the SDS Fenrir that SE throws the importance of lore out the window? Because that is absolutely ridiculous.
Would you be happier if SE never included items like these in-game? We can just go right on ahead and throw out seasonal events, that new cute fat cat mount, any and all minions that have nothing to do with the game whatsoever. You know, because... reasons. Lore is extremely important because it establishes the very cause and reasons for the events that take place in-game that are canon that you're dismissing as a result of your own bitter judgment because for some odd reason, you think the presence of a whisper go mount is both reason and cause for male Viera to be playable. smh
The SE dev team has proven over the last 5 years they don't truly listen to the playerbase. They implement most things exactly like they want to then hotfix it after it becomes the often predicted fiasco.
Respectful criticism is always better than negativity, but let's not white knight and have blind faith in developers who have a history of screwing up a LOT.
The meme phrase "You're not playing it right" exists for a reason.
This is silly. The devs do have perfectly valid reasons for doing what they did even if people don't agree with it. However, as long as it is polite, giving feedback is important and more to the point, as consumers, players are completely entitled to vote with their wallets if it is something they feel strongly enough about.
Unhappy people should be polite and detailed in their feedback but if it is enough for them to no longer want to play FF14 that is their choice and people shouldn't be telling them to do any different. The devs need to provide a product the consumers want and if they cant do that the consumers should look elsewhere until the product becomes appealing again.
Why would I support the devs when they are making decisions to dont agree with. I tend to not blindly support anything.
Or maybe people have been disappointed with the game for some time and this was the last straw?
I disliked their decision with Eureka, Blue and now with genderlocks. I also find it really bad that the healers got no new job. So for me this is probably the last straw and they need something huge that I like for me to buy the expansion now. And even if that happens I will only just sub every patch.
What will make their "dreams come true"? These people are upset that (using your terminology) their dreams did not come true, and this happened while they were subbed. These people are being more logical then those just telling them to "shut up, accept it and keep paying"
On the other hand it is quite possible they are only bluffing, to that I cite ye olde interwebs adage "pic or it didn't happen".
I'm glad they discarded male Viera for Ronso. It's a wise decision because we needed a race like Ronso.
Whiners will stop whining after the expansion, so just don't take them too serious.
Don't be a child just cause the world did not give you what you wanted, especially when it was never promised to come in the first place. The world is not here to cater to your every whim.... Im honestly glad they did not add Male viera now seeing all the vitriol and creepiness coming from that side, i have never been more disappointed in a community..... hell the american fanbase...... the japanese side are being very polite on their issues with whats going on and we over here are just screaming and throwing tantrums cause a team of people on deadlines who tried to do their best to make two groups of people happy at once did not give us every little thing we wanted. This is sad and pathetic.
It would be one thing if we gathered as a community and talked like rational beings but instead we are over here grabbing our torches and pitchforks at every. little. thing. they. do.
Enough, grow the hell up and act like people not rabid morons...
Purchase Product. Consume. Do not express discontentment.
I think what the OP meant is more within this lines: purchase the product, consume and express our content too not only discontentment because the negativity in the forums after each change decision if is not well managed in the correct way isn't beneficial neither for the devs team neither for the community.
One thing we all should be aware is the way we express our opinions about their work can motive or demotivate the team at this point I am not sure how they didn't give up on the MMO yet.
It is easy just imagine yourself at your workstation doing what you know best and receiving constant destructive criticism not well structured or even without being justified, in a daily basis.
▲ No I am not a sycophant myself but just asking if you can take a few seconds of your life to put yourself in devs team situation.▲
We shouldn't support every decision the devs make. I dont' support the new races, and I firmly believe they should only stick to one with both genders. Once the mssing genders come, there will most likely be some few ppl who will be upset because they have a thing for female/male only races, and they'll have all their rights not to support that decision
I dunno. I must be unusual in that I care more about what I would lose than what I would fail to gain.
I mean, yes there are limits. If no new expansion was ever released, I would quit because the game would get boring. But in situations where a feature I wanted fails to be delivered to me, I just stick with what I have in the game and shrug it off.
No male viera? It's disappointing, but it's not like my current race is going away.
Square Enix would be crossing the line if they decided to re-lock the Miqote and Roe races based on gender.
I'm fairly certain there hasn't been that many that have quit playing because of this. Is definitely a small minority as most want to support the game and foster the development of the missing races. You do what you think is best for you, but less money in their budget isn't going to bring the other genders to fruition. In fact, it may cut the chances down if enough people did quit over it. As stated many times before, the devs only have so many resources they can utilize. And as it stands right now it sounds like they are attempting to figure out a way to overcome the obstacles that stand in the way of female Hrothgar and male Viera. So have patience and try to be understanding. New assets are not made overnight.
If you're rage quitting over pixels you might want to take a step back anyways and consider how egocentric and self indulgent you've become that a set of pixels that you wanted didnt happen so you an adult threw a temper tantrum and quit something you had four years invested into.
Being supportive to them means providing feedbacks, good and bad. They show the changes beforehand so they can collect opinions of their player base and prepare for possible adjustments. It'd be a hell to get all those feedbacks after the game launch and start working on them only then. That'd be the most stressful situation.
There is a difference between criticism and temper tantrums. The fellow I quoted was throwing a tantrum. I'm all for criticism, good and bad, but the knee jerk reaction they had is not the right one. Showing displeasure in a respectful manner will go much farther than blind rage.
Yeah i know very much the difference and agree, my post wasn't directed at you. I was just tired of the "don't talk before trying" some people come up with, thinking they're the one doing the right thing for the devs, while this kinda attitude isn't helping one bit.
You're pleased? Say it and explain why. You're alarmed? say it and explain why. That's the supportive AND helpful thing to do.
We're STILL crying about the lack of bunny bois?
I mean the devs brought this upon themselves haha. As a professional corporation they should have enough professionalism to understand their customers, the call for male Viera will not stop until they're added, so most likely 2 years of consistent requests. We only got 50% of Viera, we're patiently waiting for the rest.
It isn't valid reasoning to YOU and others ... it could be completely valid to THEM and others. Neither your opinion or their opinion out weighs another. Everyone will complain, and everyone has to right to. Gender barriers or not, the devs made a choice. Voice your opinion, let others voice theirs and stop bashing each other. Bashing someone for supporting the devs choice, is just as bad as the people bashing those that don't like the devs choices.
I do get tired of supporting devs that ends up slapping me across the face sometimes to be honest...
But we can support them by giving both negative and positive feedback.
The male Viera thing is another slap because when you sit here and make
Male Miqote and Female Roe and give concept art for the Male Viera for this game and take a massive step back and limit
genders, then yeah, people have a right to be upset and voice their opinions.
They should have done either or, and not limit to one. I like both races and I get they tried to appease both sides
of the spectrum with more beastly looks and the most wanted Viera but this was not a good way to implement.
Doesn't help they said they dunno what they will do for the opposite genders right now since it's not in the near future.
I will relax and support there early retirement. The game really needs a new crew that listens to all the player bases.
For my concern I am pretty excited for Shadowbringer and I am very grateful for what the development team has done so far.
by now they're highly aware of the demand and i have no doubt in my heart that we will get them. it's just a matter of when
Everyone complaining about the development team and want them fired, really need to take a long hard look at themselves in a mirror and stop being negative on every thing the devs decide to do that isnt in YOUR own favor. Millions play this game, each with their own ideal image on how game should play. Like myself, I play BLM, and I would want Thunder spells to be my main nuke spell cause I love the element of Lightning more than Fire. But I still play on as the game itself is fun for me to play, and I have played on for 8 years when July 7th rolls around.
I have had many things I disagree with of what the Devs has chosen, but I dont mind as I know their decision might be made for more artistic reasons or majority votes.
Just beware when you all demand to have Yoshida and his team fired to have a fresh new team come in. Will they guaranteed be more productive, will they listen more. OR Will they start to do like other devteams like at Activision, EA, Bioware etc, and cut all communications with the playerbase and do whatever they want and make things Pay2Win, microtransactions up the wazoo etc.
This devteam along with CD Project Red seems to be the only teams who actually gives a toss about their playerbase unlike sooo many other companies who only look at us as cash milkingcows.
Learn some modesty. Critiscm is fine, but no need to be rude about things that didnt go your way.
While I bag on them from time to time, they do pull out some nice things once in awhile. I understand they're a small team and all but they really need to try and solve issues that have plagued this game since 2.0. Even if they worked on things little by little, some progress is better than no progress.
Whoever designed the NIN artifact outfit for ShB, kudos to him/her. The design is greatly done!
