My friend has been stuck on this darned quest for more than a year now. I think he's pretty much given up ever getting it completed. So we spend most days with him tanking Gazelleskin maps (duoing them with me as a healer) or running unsynched extremes (same, duo with me as healer).
He just can't get into his head he needs to heal, and how to do that. Despite me trying to explain. And it's weird as he has no problems throwing a heart of ___ on me in an extreme. Just something about being yifftola freezes his brain. So yeah, I'd love to move on in the game, but yeah, can't do that until he completes "Will of the Moon".
But honestly, I wonder if just splitting this (and others like it) into 2 parts would make it easier.

They don't perform as efficiently, especially when it's something they're completely unfamiliar with. They feel pressured because there's a timer in their face (even if generous) and they haven't been given the luxury of learning what they need to do at their own pace. Being mocked or seeing others mocked for any failure makes them hate the content even more so they stop giving a damn.Quote:

Everyone has a different skill level, comfort zone as Jojoya says, and honestly really doesn't matter to me if the 'bar' needs to be adjust so someone is able to enjoy the game and by some of our comparisons might be quite..... 'not good' at the game. If they're having a good time that's more important. Of course if they're able to wipe me, that's more annoying and hence why I feel DF savage+ type content is a huge waste of time.. but in story content it almost always doesn't mean anything because the content is tuned to such a point that many players could be sleeping at the wheel.
Obviously not as true for a multiplayer game but if I was told you beat a souls game with cheats and had fun, good for you- in a sincere way. Cheating in a multiplayer game that affects others, like breaking the market with gil, or w.e.. not so good lol. -

Plenty of time to read the 4 skills you've been handed and apply the knowledge you've (in theory) gained through 70 levels of gameplay. In this particular instance Hien even outright asks for healing when he needs it so confusion over what needs to be done seems very diminished. It can't even be about lack of knowledge that you can target NPCs because everyone does that all the time.Quote:

The Devs have changed tack recently, they have been toning down MSQ content and trying to make the MSQ game more acceptable to MMO virgins. Hopefully they can split this. -

That's a small gripe I have with the HUD - there are still parts of the HUD that can't be moved like NPC dialog messages during combat. I hate having important information displayed in the top third of the screen where my eyes usually aren't looking. That's where I put information that doesn't require constant attention or rapid response. On the flip side, I hate having unimportant information displayed on the bottom half of the screen (no, i don't need to know that the FC airship was just sent out on a new voyage while I'm in the middle of dodging hunt AoE).
