Ultimate hiatus feedback

I mean. Hang on, let me just make a list of reasons to keep this CONTENT. One of the few kinds of content that people, unironically, "respect" more than others.

1. Great for memes (e.g. UWU, Elysium, Xenos vs. MrHappy)
2. Great for hardcore raiders (they wanted harder content, they got it through Ultimate)
3. Great for viewers (Twitch popularity/streams skyrocketed on views during Ult progging)
4. Great for other raiders (After finishing Savage, they have a tier that'll test them heavily and help them improve)
5. Great for crafters (ALL THE GEAR! MATERIA! GIIIILLLL!)
6. Great for FFXIV fight designer respect/fame (Just read the replies here; people loved the guy who made it)

You take away Ultimate, you get rid of a lot of good reasons.

Also, I don't have much time to get into raiding, but it's nice to see/talk about.

I'd like to see more difficult PvE content in the game. Sadly, the price of admission is fairly annoying. I came in late this tier and there's just no way for me to find a group capable of doing UWU to clear o8s as it's a requirement, but I like seeing the new fights.

Also it'd be a shame to see Elysium starving.

More Ultimate! only 2 fights per expension? that's one fight per year! how can that be "rough"?! Supposedly ultimate content is made for the more hardcore players whom I am sure are capable of handling more then one fight every six monhts! Even if the more casual players can feels "overwhelmed" when a new ultimate fight comes out and they haven't cleared the previous one, you can still continue to progress the old fights! They don't become any less dificult as new ones are released. And honestly, this content wasn't designed towards casual players, and while it's fine and cool the more people we have enjoying ultimate, maybe the opinion of those who only casually tackle into this content shouldn't be taken as the major feedback from the comunity when developing a fight for the smaller hardcore player base. (Regarding Yoshi-p's comment on how the comunity felt with a new fight every odd patch.)

Hope our word can reach the dev team and that they reconsider this decision.

I too am disappointed with the news of no ultimate fight for patch 4.5. I throw my name in the ring with the rest of those posting here in hopes that the devs will reconsider after hearing what the raiding community really does desire. Thanks for the great ultimate fights so far and keep up the good work!

I couldn't agree more. This kind of content is just VERY exciting to watch! Our group is getting into this as well for the first time and it's fun to do.

I am not a raider by any means, nor do I have plans to step a foot inside UCoB or UWU ever, but please do not put Ultimate on a hiatus.

I personally enjoy watching the streamers and rooting for my favorite teams for world first. Its amazing to see these fights and the people who are mad enough to challenge them.

I'm going to add my plus one to this. While I never really got to touch UCoB back in the day. With UwU coming out, all my Discords blew up with hype while watching the streams. Day 1 when the Awoken mechanic was first found out, we all freaked out because of how cool it was. Not only that but it keeps me entertained during the odd patches since I usually clear the raid pretty early.

I echo the sentiment of this thread and many who have posted here. I was extremely disappointed when i read that the interview that stated that Ultimate was going on hiatus. I hope that the dev team will reconsider their decision.

For me ultimate has been some of the most fun content in the game. It has rekindled the feeling that I got at the start of the game when I found out about raiding and aspired to get good enough to be able to do. The feeling of beating T9 was better than any other fight in the game until these.

Ultimate has had a lot of really positive effects on the game and the community within it. And rescinding on the promise of an ultimate fight at a time when the content is most sparse is a terrible idea. I was around for the lull in content at the end of ARR and the end of HW. The game was essentially dead for those months. Not only did I see many players quit over it, the ones who remained were terribly bored and the overall health and tone of the community was quite poor.

These fights add a reason to keep playing the game. It inspires new players to take up the game and inspires them to raid. It is a reason to improve your play to get good enough to one day challenge these. it is a reason to play through the savage content and get all of the best gear. it gives countless hours of entertainment to watch friends do the fights and playing through them yourself. They are also really fun to do even after you clear. it stimulates the game's economy as raiders will need a lot more food and pots. And it also just keeps people subbed and playing the game at a time where most people would have taken a break entirely. You would loose all of that over the year long break removing the 4.5 ultimate fight.

Ultimate brings in tons of viewers on Twitch and raises the viewer count for the FFXIV directory higher than it ever has been before. Not only is it content to keep players satisfied during the pre-expansion lull, it brings in many new players who will then see that there is an expansion coming out soon. This would be a huge marketing move to have the final expansion patch have content that brings alot of publicity to the game, along with keeping current players subbed and satisfied.

As Savage was streamlined into midcore raiding content (and alliance raids to be the entry level), the third tier of challenge would be on the Ultimate series. With missing out on a third entry per expansion it'll mean that majority of the hardcore crowd is being left out for the remainder of it. Coming from that point of view, having the Ultimate series every odd patch is a very reasonable compromise between the other content. If the reason for holding up is resource-related (even if most assets are reused), then it may be understandable, but I doubt that the community Ultimate content was designed for ever found it "too rough". On the contrary, it feels like the progression period for the Ultimate content is the major highlight of the year related to the game in many aspects, so I will also vouch for reconsidering this decision.

I agree. My team had a lot of fun in ucob (though we did have a lot of scheduling mishaps so we didn't see much past fellruin) and currently are having a blast in Ultima. It was quite disheartening hearing the decision to cut ultimate fights until after 5.0. The time span between 4.4 and 5.0 launch is quite daunting especially if there isn't any challenging content to do. Personally I haven't heard any downside to the ultimate fights from HC raiders to casuals, every seems to love the idea of them, and also love watching them on twitch if they aren't trying it out. It also gives the gathering of gear from the savage fights more meaning imo.

I'm new to the forums and only just now getting close to being a player for a year but I love the ultima fights even though I have never played them before they interest me greatly and the 8 month gap will be unbearable not just for me but the hardcore players as well. I love this game and I want to see it do its best so pls have a 3rd ultima fight, also since we are talking about this make item sync not effect your level so when 5.0 comes out we can do the ultima fights at LV 80 but still find it difficult

I feel like SE have been pushing PVP as hard as possible to give FFXIV that Twitch mainstream viewing like other mobas and such. But it's not working.

They've got the winning formula, right here. They've got the hype, the fan following, the streams, the interest. It's crazy that they can't see it. The response to can the series until next expansion is just such a massive opportunity loss.

I think there should be at least 3 Ultimate fights should be added a expansion. I haven't heard this so call "complaining" but with the hardcore community being as small as it is there are bound to be some people that think it's overwhelming to do more then 2 fights and others that are ready for the challenge. #theultimatechoice

+1 ultimate. That coming from someone who hasn't even put much time in progressing on it (about 10 hours on ucob and 0 on uwu). Even with not actually progressing on the fights myself I have religiously watched multiple streams during progression, something I don't do during savage at all. I see a lot of people do the same, it really creates a lot of hype for the game that just isn't present otherwise

I have not set foot in Ultimate tbh, though I would like too I also feel that this is a nice addition to the game. It seems that the next major patch will end the omega raid tier and then we will get the final 24man content later too. We already have the last crafting set. So I wonder if it is not because of these additions that make no new ultimate feasible since this current expansion is coming to an end now.

Cleared UCOB, progging UwU, it scares me to think if they don't release another ultimate in 4.5 there could be a year between ultimate fights. Please reconsider, the ultimates are the most fun I've ever had playing this game. They bring people together through playing/viewing as well as generate tons of excitement for the game. I really question why there is even a consideration not to continue this great piece of content on the schedule that it had been going.

Honestly a part of me thinks that too even if it might not be that way. But if you have world racers that on one hand want to let it stay synch to keep the challenge and on the other hand sell the runs..

Still I can understand how those that are just really doing it for the challenge (which hopefully is a big amount of the people) hate that its one fight less. But at least for me, I find the reason for stopping this a bit shady. What part of the raider community truly feel tired of doing three instead of two of them? Are they again just listening to a very minor part of the japanese community for this? Or is this just a fake reason because they just did not want to say that they dont feel like doing another one?

In the end, as long as it does not impact the casual part of the game I dont care how many Ultimates you get. So if nothing is taken away to get more, you can have as much as they can pump out, even if I never see them.

It does seem weird. I think there is probably a resources allocation issue since they probably didn't expect Ultimate to get as popular as it has. When UCOB started, Yoshi was worried that no one would clear it. They probably never planned to keep creating content alongside the casual savage stuff.

As for wanting to keep the challenge intact, this was the biggest feedback given after second coil savage. Players who had spent weeks of prog challenging themselves with it felt pretty ripped off when those fights became unsynched. As well as that it just removed an extra content from the game since you can now run into those fights and breeze them down.

It doesn't help that it isn't canon.

That really kills my motivation to bother trying to clear it.

1) according to state of the realm the feedback might be an internal one as in they apparently have only 3 ppl qualified to design this content and they've seen that they are running on thin ice with it, so the having one every odd patches beign rough is for the battle team not the community.

HOWEVER

2) I'd like that ppl don't forget how there have ppl that, while beign favorable to ultimate in this thread, have been questioning the existance of ultimate and also there have been ppl outrigh jating the fact that something is made for the 1%.
As such I'd refrain anyone to say that noone of the community ,raiders or not. spoke against ultimate because that's not true or I've imagined myself costantly having to say that ultimate is good for the game.

Pretty much this. This content is great and I feel like canceling one during the long hiatus before the xpac is a bad move, I know I'll most likely unsub after Ultima is dead in that case.

Carby'killed Uwu(aka Just Puffy) from Sarg.here, as a casual player I def. Enjoyed watching UCoB and Uwu progress. The hype of transition phases, the learning of how to do certain things to progress all coming together is really entertaining. I think Twitch speaks for itself. Each channel was hyped and filled with viewers. Even tho I'll never be raiding in them the enjoyment and excitement kept me watching and actually subbed to the game. I don't know what it is but it's def worth making more then removing it. LET THE HC PPL HAVE THIER CAKE PLZ!

IMO, Ultimate is the best thing was brought to the game, and at the moment basically the only challenging content in here.
I had no chance to get into UCoB in time, but now progging UwU and it makes me so happy, I can't even describe. We really need it! At least one more Ultimate fight in current expansion.

Just like how I was glad Gordias was difficult despite never getting past 1% enrage on a3s, I'm glad that ultimate exists despite the fact that I only had time to beat Twintania's phase. Just watching twitch with all the progression was among my most entertaining moments subbed to your game.

There are players from other MMO's like World of Warcraft, that say that even with Ultimate there isn't enough "mythic content" in this game. So it's baffling that instead of adding more fights, and more frequently, you're actually going to be adding less per expansion than we thought. Ultimate felt like you were heading in the right direction, and even I thought that you were just testing the waters to see whether or not you could add more challenging fights more frequently.

I know it costs a ton of time and energy from the devs to make these fights but I swear to you it's more than worth it if the consistent viewership of FFXIV on twitch is anything to go by.

I too was very saddened to hear that Ultimate is going to be put on a hiatus. Working through these fights is a really enjoyable experience and the amount of support it has gotten from the community is huge. I feel like the raiding scene is the healthiest it's ever been right now thanks to there being content for every kind of player to enjoy. I don't want to see the same kind of content draught we had for 3.5 so please reconsider and give us a new ultimate for 4.5!

I've never had the chance to complete UCoB and have yet to prog UWU, but they represent my end game goals in which I finally feel I have to put a great deal of effort in order to beat, and while you can argue that I can keep being busy progging these fights, I can see how for the top layer of the playerbase, not having a new Ultimate fight to smash their heads on is tentamount to having no new interesting content for 6+ months with little reasons to keep playing. Granted, they represent the minority of active players, but they're both very dedicated to the game and - whether we like it or not - tend to shape the rest of the raiding community. This is not to mention the surprising success FFXIV has encountered on streaming platforms during both Ultimate releases, despite its genre. I say those fights make for a big part of the game current's success, and I feel Ultimate is a leap towards a healthier community with content catering to every kind of player.

I came late into the ultimate scene yet my team is now moving onto UWU which im sure we will have a lot of fun progging.
It is very likely that if we keep it up just like UCoB we will clear before an hypothetical 3rd Stormblood ultimate.
Week #1 clearable Savage content (day #1 for some teams), yeah... we need to keep them busy !!

I don't think I'll ever get into Ultimate, but I tell you I reconsidered my raiding haitus because of it.

UwU was my favorite part of 4.3 so far, even if I wasn't taking part of it, I didn't need to do it to enjoy it, I loved hanging out with the community during the race.

I hope they will reconsider this decision as well.

Dont worry I dont forget that. Like I wrote, it would be a lie to say that I would be really upset to lose a third one. I just feel that the reasons for this are a bit off. Was not talking about you and I won't say more, but as said there's the possibilities that they meant internal feedback since idd there no feedback from the intended group to stop doing them, however if the feedback was from the community then that's idd another story

It's worth noticing that the new ppl in this threads are the reason why some ppl say that the forum is a small set of the community since some of the new ppl here aren't really new to the game lol
