You start to get really frustrated when you're going on four years of a problem and the company has publically apologized and promised to work on it multiple times and yet keeps adding to the pile with no noticeable efforts to actually fix anything.

Just fail to see why we even have glamour restrictions.
"It just looks wrong seing a tank in light clothing"... We can run around naked...
I only speak for myself. The reason for saying *most people dont care* is very simpel. The topic isnt big and full of yea sayers, if there is a nay sayer he/she will shoot down and some yea sayers are being disrespectfull to the devs. Which is funny for people who are saying *entitled to voice our concerns*.
I dont really care about sexy clothes or male gaze ( Calimero behavior) ... we are talking about pixels.
They are working on it. Be patience and respectfull. But the more you guys make these topics... it's no more *voice concerns* but will be more called whi....
The male bunny outfit was only made because people kept asking for it. If people do not ask, do not make topics, do not show ~any~ interest or desire in something and sit quietly hoping one day it'll just manifest itself...it won't. Until the day the devs become mind readers, at least.
Had a male only outfit been the lone crafting set when the patch went live, do you think people would have accepted it without complaints?
From my viewpoint, as someone who played before the glamour system or Mog Shop even existed, SE is not working on it. They will throw us bones here and there if we get a little too loud. They will finally cave under four year's worth of consistent pressure for one outfit. But they will not do what's necessary to make things equal. Why? We can only speculate. But from a long-time customer's perspective I am tired of being second to people who play a different gender. I'm also not willing to accept that limitation's on men's fashion prohibit us from having the same quantity of options, let alone quality. It's biased bs and I am sick of it.
Politeness hasn't really gotten us anywhere at this point- we got mealy-mouthed "please look forward to it" and "we're working on it" responses for years with little to no real action. I'm still being civil, well within the forum's etiquette guidelines. But I'm not going to nicely wait and hope after four years of being shafted. People have posted examples of what they want to see, have asked pretty please to not keep releasing female-only gear with no male equivalent, have asked that SE be egalitarian with locking gear by gender if they can't make things work for everyone. But it's fallen of deaf ears. Expressing frustration is only natural at this point.
Exactly, if is about immersion, that thing has been already lost long time ago, as one can see tanks in bikinis and Warriors of Light wearing Moogle suits.
But one thing is glamour restrictions (as I don't like it either) and gender locked gear. I just want a balanced amount of gear available for the both genders.
The sailor outfit is already unlocked, as a male character I can wear it. I think you mean the Spring dress, which is funny because there is already a male version of it (Hildibrand wears it in one cutscene).
This should not be shocking to anyone anymore. Their latent sexism doesn't shock me anymore as I've sadly gotten used to it. SE has always shunned the people who play male characters in a variety of ways. Glamour being one issue. SE panders a lot to females and those who play female characters in game and as such they have a lot female exclusive stuff more than males. I'm shocked we even got the bunny suits after all this time. Probably due to a multitude of people complaining and SE had no choice but to cave in to the demands. They probably wasn't gonna ever make male bunny suits, but due to overwhelming pressure they caved.
If you complain enough, and in large numbers...SE will give you what you want. This game panders a lot. Anymore pandering and this game will become a Sim. lol.
The sailor outfit was not intended as an example of male glamour, but to show the hypocrisy in how these items get handled, as it was originally planned to be the male-exclusive counterpart to the spring dress set you point out, but by YohiP's own admission during development he saw the outfits and thought "Oh, that would look really cute on female characters!" and "encouraged" the art team to make it unisex, so 2.2 launched with one of the contentious unisex/female-exclusive pairs.
And what is the difference between this topic and the bunny one ? 20 times larger with more different people. Bunny outfit is more fun and too be honest this new lv 1 piece.... is not so pretty.
People will always complain. So it will be a small group kinda like this.
But I rest my case. The only opinions i hear is : I want I want and 4 years. Do you really need the gear to be creative. Use the tools you have and make a unique glamour.
Its not this dress itself thats the issue- Its that the set is exclusive to one gender. There is no male equivalent. That is the issue you seem to be either misunderstanding or being willfully ignorant of. I am not speaking of the creativity of outfits involving the dress or subjective appeal of the dress. I am saying that it is fundamentally unfair that there is no equivalent set for male characters to wear.
And yes, I will continue to post about the favoritism of glamour so as long as devs continue to play favorites. If that persists for another 4 years... get used to seeing my icon ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Almost all the gear is designed for male midlanders.
Females get a few level 1 gear made for them.
Male characters are now treated as second class citizens.
Call me when the Final Fantasy Tactics and Tactics Ogre outfits are designed differently for women so I can actually use them since I hate the male versions.
I swapped to a male character for a while earlier this year but I have to admit the lack of glamour options (or at least the ones to my personal taste) for male characters has meant that I reverted back to my old character model. Apparently the data miners on reddit have found some interesting looking male glamour so there may be hope for it yet.
I see I see. So those are the only 2 options I can get to choose..... misunderstanding or ignorant. So you kinda push me towards a position because I dont agree with you. For so called *good* people you guys use alot of black and white tactics. It's kinda scary.
4 years.... for this. Glad I have more important stuff in life...
Man, I'm at the point where I don't care what the Dev Team does at this point. I just play XIV just to play it. I'm glad there are other people out there that are willing to do more then the AAA Dev team we have nowadays.
