Ivalician Moogles As A Playable Race - A Mogifesto

Neither, its a simple statement. They announced/teased Viera during the fanfest and Yoshi specifically stated this will be the last race added.

I'm confused by your question or rather how your going about coming to your conclusions?
During the live stream, Yoshi-P stated that the new race would likely be the last race. We know that Viera is the new race based off his T-shirt.
Folks should realize that it's not a simple task to make a new race, they have to go back and make sure every piece of gear fits properly on the new race. That's not an easy feat given how many items are in the game. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you're likely beating a dead horse hoping they'll make moogles a playable race.
That said, maybe he can make them playable for a specific content, like they did with Y'shtola recently...
I think its probably best to let go of moogles becoming a playable race otherwise though.

Technically, Ivalice-based moogles are very bunny like creatures.

Can you imagine if we get them instead of Viera?

I wanted to write a really long text. How disappointed I am about Square Enix that they do not dare or just do not have the enthusiasm to introduce a nonhuman race. That Viera are just a distasteful fan service whose charm you can already get ingame in other ways and are not worth the development effort. That Corues contribution sounds quite feasible to implement Ivalice Mogrys. Especially now that Square wants to customize how helmets work just because of the implementation of the Viera.

I think that letting out my frustration in this thread would be kinda ... unfair? Nevertheless, I do it anyway.

The side note that the Viera will probably be the last new race has hit me really hard ...
Everything the Ivalice Moogles probably lacked is a huge bosom, permissive clothes and a bunch of thirsty nerds screaming for their desired (sexy) race at every fanfest.

Corues ideas and work are (in my opinion) still good and still feasible. Its inspiring. This thread will always give me the hope that Ivalice Moogles are a possibility for the future. And I hope that after the Viera hype subsides, people will find this thread to give it the deserved attention. And then, hopefully Square will also notice that there are more than enough people who want something more fantasy-like instead of more lewd animal girls.

Everything that could better this trend on more and more fan service is already there. Square Enix just have to reach out for it and work on it.

his words were "possible last race" basically saying that if they wanted to they could but with how much hard work it is that its unlikely for next expansion or the one after

I always preferred the FF12 moogles to the regular ones. I think if not a playable race they could add them as a beast tribe at least by saying the Aether in the area they are in cause them to develop to look how they do.

It's worth noting that they've basically written themselves into a corner with the focus on "beast tribes" in ARR. New playable races cannot veer too far from being human-like or they'll fall on the wrong side of that "men vs beastmen" conflict and ARR's script will seem quite strange for new players who choose that race.

Wow, I love the detail of this! I loved the FFXII Moogles so much, and I would instantly change if I had the chance to look like those.

I think they where planned at some point, there's an image that I always link when ppl talk about Moogles as a playable race in FF14, where a Moogle and a Viera can be seen together, while the Moogle is wearing a mage hat and riding a Chocobo. (For some reason I couldn't find it anymore.)

At this point, I don't think they will add them to the game.

It's a really old image so it's kinda hard to find nowdays, it used to come out when you typed Viera FF14 on Google but due to the news of Viera being playable, all you find are post about the new videos and artwork now. :(

This is something I still want done. Every launch race has their own "counterpart" now except Lalafell, and this would be perfect.

I imagine not, with Viera/Hrothgar they seemed fairly sure there wouldn't be another race... and if they did add another race I have a feeling they would fill in male viera/female hrothgar instead anyway or else there'd be a big backlash for them getting skipped over.

Ivalician moogles would be a nice race to add. Though I could see them being referred to and treated as a cousin to regular moogles due to their different build.

All I know for certain is that if they were added. The quicksand will have a whole lot of "OwO *pounces on u! X3" rp going on..

I don't want any more races added. The last two was a complete struggle for the dev team and I would be the same pleased as if them added Viera and Hrothgar as a beast tribe instead.

More beast tribe = Yes
More playable races = No

+1 on Ivalician Moogles. Building them off Lalafell wouldn't be too big a drama, especially if they go with the Viera/Hrothgar approach and just shrug their shoulders at the headgear situation again.

The demand is clearly there imho and it'd be a good way to further steal a march on WoW with calls for Vulpera to be made playable over the years.

From what I've learned from my experience in playing MMOs. (WoW, Wildstar, ESO, GW2) If you want to attract players add a variety of furry races.

Furries tend to play MMOS alot.

I would LOVE it.

They can use the Lalafell proportions, just like the Hrothgar use the Roe proportions... It would be amazing to have another smol race for a change.

They can even justify Ivalician Moogles as some sort of distant cousins of the other moogles, that evolved in a different way, becoming bigger and losing the ability to fly, even though they retain the wings. They can be a race prevalent in Garlemald territory, maybe a slaved race?

I'm still holding out hope for this, even if others gave up.

This can still defintely happen. Moogles in Hydalyn are known for their unique magic and glamour. It wouldn't be impossible if a clan of them simply used those same glamour to hide their true forms in Ivalice or something.

We need more furries. Would have loved to see Burmecian's though that would be unlikely due to the qiqirn.

The thread has been revived! I'd love to see them be added. I'd probably still play ss a lala, as I've established their character, but I'd certainly have a moogle alt. I'd call them Mogsy XD.

By the way, would the original poster mind if I did some drawings for his descriptions of the moogle race? I'd post them here if allowed. :)

With a new expansion brings new hope into finally getting this. I did hear rumors on a Novice Network that something akin to Ivalician Moogles will be the next player race. Hopefully this turns out to be true.

The problem with introducing Ivalician Moogles as a playable race (outside the hats/hairstyles debacle which should be addressed anyway) is that I'd lose a lot of money race changing my main and every alt into one
