I actually know their guildmaster they don't do this. It was one of their members pulling a joke in PF and people took it seriously. That being said, scalpers do exist.

We talking about the same Rare? There's two on Balmung last I knew.

First came version check error, then came lobby queue. Looks like I'm staying put in Mist. *chuckles*

The mishandling of this has enraged a number of key members of my fc so much that it looks like they are going to bail on the game.

The whole housing situation is extremly bad done.
THe instant the servers went up I was trying to login. Got Error over error. When I finally was seing the field to enter my password I WAS NOT ABLE TO PRESS LOGIN. When I finally was in the character select screen I had an queue of 1500 people. Great.
When I was in the game everything was gone.
Tried the old housing areas and 5 houses were taken away from infront of my nose.
Allready seing tons of PFs about buying and selling houses.

SQUARE HAS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS BS.

So, I ended up getting screwed out of Shirogane housing because the horrible launcher crashed on me when I tried to log in, and nothing short of a total restart of my PC would fix it.

I guess I'll be waiting another year or two for a medium now.

All Houses gone on Hyperion. Rip. Grats to my friends who got theirs. o/

All 720 plots gone in 15 minutes... Nice meme SE.

gonna join in this salt..logged in right as the servers came up was 108 in queue...got a damn world data error which kept lasting until :25 so yeah 25mins later everything was gone...

It's only fair that Hydaelyn's chosen people (Lalafell), should be given priority with Shirogane Housing.

Eorzea, and by extension, the resistance, owes much of it's success to Lalafell ingenuity and leadership :^)

Took about 10 minutes for all the Shirogane's plots to be taken on Leviathan. About 5 minutes more for all the old wards to be taken. If you weren't lucky enough to get a queue under 500 then you were screwed.

Salt is to be expected - 720 new houses for anywhere between 4k to 20k people are a drop of water on a melting stone.

On hols so got my bond partner to log in for me to get our house. He got stuck saying it couldn't retrieve world data and now everything is gone everywhere.

I.. can't make heads or tails out of this one.

Got screwed by the log in button not loading for a good 20 secs. That 20 secs put our runner in position 950 something in the queue. They got in at 3:13. Wards apparently sold on balmung by 3:10 or so and 95% of that to private housing which is just....*throws up hands*. Why is that a thing? Private housing never should have been a thing within the wards until the FC housing needs can be met. There are apartments available for people without an FC to buy one and FC's can give people access to features they want /including/ a room. All private housing did was make it easier for people to scalp lots. Luckily we were only relocating but frankly when I see the new ward compared to the old ones, it feels like I paid subs for Square to go and build a better looking new ward and give a big middle finger to any FC that might want to be there.

As a long time supporter of this game, i would be one of the first people to recommend to others wanting a good mmo, I love this game, only problem is the patching problems that seem to never be fixed ever throughout this games life cycle. normally this is just a hassle and not too much of a big deal, then comes the popular screw you in the form of we cant patch cause reasons...which again normally isn't too big of a deal.

I'm just frustrated i stayed up all night to get a house me and a friend saved up for for a few months, m game was working perfectly fine before 4.1 patch hit, and i recently had to change computers so the game was a fresh install even, then the can't patch thing pops for meh for no reason, tried every fix i found on the internet and then finally decided to just fresh reinstall again....problem is now i most certainly missed the house me and friend so desperately saved for.

My salt and rage is strong fellow Leviathan peer.

I errored out and then was thrown into a 1200 que. Glad I stayed up all night to not get the one thing I've saved the gil for forever... Then when I finally logged in , It placed me inside of the placard in front of my desired plot and I was unable to do anything until the game crashed again. GG SE.

I missed out on Shirogane. It's frustrating - I have enough gil to purchase three large houses. I only desire one. I couldn't get a large. I couldn't get a medium. I panicked and ended up rushing to the Lavender Beds. I missed out on a few more houses before managing to secure a small one. I'm thankful, don't get me wrong - but the housing situation is a complete mess and I am baffled by the decision to introduce a moving feature that only further complicates the mad rush that occurs whenever new houses pop up.

Where do I buy house permits in shirogane?

Auto-demolition being a thing, I've no desire to even buy a house, but that being said, it was obvious this was going to happen. :-/

As long as the current housing system exists, this is about the best you can expect.
They need to enhance the Apartment concept and give us access to instanced ranches/farms/whatever or people are going to keep hitting the same walls.
Being realistic though, SE is ever going to take the time or effort to truly revamp the system, so it's better for everyone to stop being hopeful that the housing situation is going to improve.

You can't exactly enforce a rule against scalping when 3/4 of the PF is people volunteering 400% markups on housing.

I think they should have had an hour delay after a server is back on line to open housing..at least give some a fighting chance.

Yeah... they really should of made these houses exclusive to FC's or at least opened it up for FC's 1st then later on to private... there's seriously little benefit for houses to be privately owned...

I'd wager that I was probably world first on launching the game as I could login a few seconds before the "maintenance" message got replaced by "online".

Of course the client crashed as soon as I hit "Start" and then I couldn't get the launcher to load. I ended up with a 900+ queue and when I got on all houses were taken.

This is a FU U ALL from SE to their fans and players. This shit, the shame to see ppl purchashing houses to sell them for x10 their original price, and bring few houses for overpopulated servers..... SE: "Do you want a house? Go to one of our new empty servers! You won't be able to do anything on that server but you will be able to own a house!"

Most of the large plots on Jenova are presently owned by offline individuals with no estate constructed on the property. In other words: scalpers.

After saving up for a house for about a year i got on before my friends and it kept saying world data could not be obtained for so long that all of them logged in before me. when i got on all the houses were gone. Now every plot in every area; mist, lavender beds, goblet and shirogane are all sold and there isnt a single plot available in the game. Really good job SE..

It’d be one thing if I lost a footrace to a house, but I didn’t even have a chance.

Download speeds were abyssal the entire patch. 0.01-0.30 the entire time. Even after multiple restarts and re-sets like people suggested.

A literal hour later (4h total download), I’m just now logging in.

Not even a fighting chance for a house.

It's early morning. I can imagine it was a "I have it now.. going back to bed" case.

Me and my entire FC got screwed by a broken launcher that messed up 2 minutes before the patch went live. It didn't get fixed until 3 minutes after. Then we got stuck in a queue, and then world data not available, and then every single plot was taken.

And then this FC who bought like 3 houses, including a mansion, ran around in /shout chat, in Kugane, swearing and telling everyone to "get f***ed we run this place, b****es."

Sure is nice that SE fosters and lets this type of behvaior and "competition" happen. "Hey, we know you guys have massive demand, but we have little supply, and not enough stability to handle that much demand. GOOD LUCK."

Then scalpers, sore winners, sore losers, divided community, bitter feelings, hate towards SE, etc.
