I always use samurai classes in any game I play. To me, there are no other options for a main job on my character. Everything else is for fun. Sam is for business.

I'm loving the RDM, an i hope that it doesn't get nerfed in someway in the future. I think its perfect where its at an extremely fun.
I've always loved the dual swordsman but casting type an it certainly met it. I used to main BLM but hated what they did in Heavensward.
To me RDM is basically a more mobile/supportive blm while putting out decent DPS an helping healers in emergencies.
RDM will definitely be my main from now on.
Having been flagged as a sloppy DPS when I played BRD, NIN, and DRG, SAM allowed me to be a pure DPS since it brings no utility other than heavy damage. However, I feel like I'm on the hype train considering I prefer to be NIN still.
I am definitely sticking to SAM. It's the only DPS job where I feel I'm actually contributing decent numbers to the encounter, as well as having fun doing it. I mained MCH last expansion, and didn't do too well with it, and I mained BRD in ARR, and sucked a bit at that. Casters and the other Melee jobs never really interested me much, apart from NIN, until SAM. So definitely sticking with SAM throughout this expansion, and possibly into the next.
Once you get used to dualcasting you won't even need swiftcast anymore. The people I'm talking about are the ones that do nothing but hardcast veraero/thunder then dualcast the other or dualcast verfire/stone. And then they ignore their melee combo which can crit for 12k at level 60.
Red mage is so basic:
Jolt/Impact into veraero/thunder back to jolt/impact if you don't get verstone/fire proc and alternate to 80 of each mana then corps-a-corps into melee combo into displacement then verholy/flare accordingly. Rinse repeat.
Aoe you just spam scatter to 60 or 90 of each mana(depending on pull size) then corps-a-corps and then do 2-3 enhanced moulines(30 manas each use) and displacement. Rinse Repeat.
Vercure occasionally as/if needed.
Jolt/impact or verstone/fire or maybe vercure to proc instant verraise as needed.
That's literally it. I can't fathom it ether. I've literally carried dungeons on red mage because I can pull some fancy bs with dualcasting.
Considering they are the only classes I can seem to stomach aesthetically (I have a thing for swords but detest tanking in this game.) I will most likely be sticking with either or, both are around 64 on separate characters.
Im main ast, and i like having a RDM in the party cuz if i mess up they can ress me with no problem, unlike summoners they dont have that much MP problems, neither need to waste SC to ress, also for hard healing fights when you need too many AOE heals burning your MP, they can take they role to ress.... xD so basically ill keep my RDM because as a healer they are my favorite class to party with :D
I'm waiting for the hype train to end before i start. DPS queues are ridiculous right now.
I'm probably going to stick with Red Mage.
Mained DRG in HW & played SMN a lot as well.
Not impressed with neither DRG & SMN in SB so I'll stick with RDM. This class is my spirit animal. If classes could be animals.
It would be odd like very very very odd like completely out of left field......if they decided to nerf these classes, I find it funny that SAM & RDM were released working perfectly but they completely messed up SMN DRG and two classes that were not even broken WAR & SCH. Im hoping they dish out class fixes to those said classes before they start throwing out nerfs to RDM & SAM.
I'll be playing RDM mostly ,but I'm DRK through and through. Hopefully adjustments continue to be made. As things stand I don't see many people clamoring for a DRK tank.
RDM spells are too pretty to me. I can't not play it.
Samurai is my favorite melee class now. Sticking with it for good so long as it plays like it does now.
Sticking with RDM for several fights, although i still main SMN.
I noticed that RDM suffers a lot more because of GCD loss in Susano, while a SMN (with pet still attacking and a base GCD of only 80 potency) can adjust to have only minor dps loss.
On the other hand lakshmi is a lot easier on RDM imo. Also pets/dots on adds are annoying.
I'll continue maining my healer jobs...however I always have a "main" dps class for whenever I feel like it which I try to keep updated with gear as much as possible.
This used to be SMN, but the way it looks now, it'll be rdm.
Impact! So so pretty! Bestest spell ever.
I was a tank for Years but they ruined it for me in SB. So i tried out Samurai and ill definetly stick with it, even if it gets nerfed a bit.
Switched from my previous main, Bard, to Red Mage. Though it has always been the case that I would switch to RDM if it ever came to XIV, I made this known to my FC, and static members.
Red Mage is absolutely great and while i was going to still play my main (blm) having revived so many players in fights past few days only solidifies the need for Red.
I used to main BRD in HW, liked it and had my fun.
RDM is my new main tho. I like how flashy it is, not too complicated and I love caster gear + rapier.
I was BRD before, but I seriously find RDM almost too fun to give up. I believe I will continue maining it for the forseeable future.
Also who doesn't love it's pinache! ^_^
I don't see anything in the immiedate future that would pull me from Samurai as my planned main class.
I've brought it up to 60 and am waiting till my sister and I can get on together to continue the 3.4 story and onward.
I don't think I've ever decided on a relic just because of class...
Of course, I'm never at the bleeding edge in the first place.
I wait until the entirety of the relic steps are done, and then look up to see which I like best for glamor.
Because, as we all know, glamor is the true endgame.
I love RDM. I did the Limit Breaker 3 in Susano Ext yesterday, which I have never seen yet and can you call that flashy literally since the entire screen seemed to blow up :)
i was a drk main before sb but after all the drk change and tank changes everytime i play drk i cry im a rmg main and i dont regret it at all i get to play Botw while waiting on queue times :D
I love both Red and Sam but I really miss healing so I'll prob go back to Ast. I hope 5.0 introduces more healing and tank classes. Oracle maybe.
I was a Dark main from 2.0 on and now RDM will be my main for a good part of the future.
