[Req] Gatherer / Crafter Artifact Armor Glamors for Battle Classes/Jobs

Yeah, no. This is dumb on many levels. As a crafter, I put in a massive amount of work in to gathering the mats and craft those in HW. It was not easy with the weekly cap and devalues the hard work those of us that made those sets put in. Second, when in dungeon I would like it if my party actually looked like their job they are playing. I don't really want to chase after a tank dressed as a fisher or some crap like that.

They should add those items, but not sell them via cash shop, instead only crafters who learned the recipe can make them. Players who are crafters and gatherers will be rewarded for via sales and those that dont have crafters or gathers can buy the glamour and use it for themselves.

Its a WIN/WIN.

That's how the game is. Right now, the amount of work it takes to gather the mats for the DoH/L specific i170 sets (which is the same model used as the i200 sets) is probably less than 1/10th of the effort it took when those sets were added to the game.

Then you'd have to disable a lot of the glamour options. A fisher wouldn't exactly stand out, since tanks wearing bikini glamours are a thing.

The only kind of limitations i would want to see on gear is the job-specific gear. Everything else should be opened up.

Casters should get non specific plate tanks get non specific robes.

We can already wear the lvling gear for DoH/DoL on all battle classes so i dont see why this gear should be excempted from the rule.

It's a ingame restriction to keep some flavor because at the end of the day gear is just gear, anyone can wear it (even if you use it wrong).

Then a WHM is also just a guy with a healer staff in the hand. I demand WHM AF3 gear as "all class" gear. /s

In a game, where the weapon decide the class, someone with a pickaxe in the hand is a miner and nothing else at that moment.

No if all you got is the staff you'd be a conjurer. White mage requires the training and job stone something the DoH and DoL's lack. There is not much iconic about an apron compared to a white robe with the red accents. The job gear is funnily enough locked to jobs not classes.

In this game if you just equip the tool you are the base class, something everyone can be and learn. Yes i am aware of specialists but those functioned more as a gating mechanic to ensure that one player couldnt ace in all crafts at the same time.

Most jobs can be learned by almost anyone (PLD or MCH are a good example of this), in fact some story arcs revolve around train average joes (MNK). WOL is at the peak, but the job itself is not something special.

Miner's not a job. It's a class, just like all the other DoH and DoL classes.

Crafting and gathering classes are not jobs, hence that's why I'd like this suggestion to go through, especially with the idea of them requiring having leveled up those classes.

Once again, they are not jobs. They are classes. There actually is a difference made between those two.

I think it should be buyable with red scripts or the normal lv 60 DoH scipt gear could be upgradeable to a ilevel 1 "all class" gear at lv 70.

By all means, go ahead and ask for other gear to be unlocked for glamour. That could give people lots of extra flexibility.

But NOT the AF sets! Those are the most important ones in the entire game and it's specifically because of their lock to a particular class. Unlocking them would be the same as removing them from the game entirely, since they'd no longer be AF after that.

People's desire for a few more random meaningless outfits does not justify taking away something so important from the game.

I would like it if we could cross-class glamour DoH / DoL gear for which we've qualified. Miner body piece from mid-HW was pretty spectacular, but can only wear it while mining.

Still waiting for this, would prefure OP's Achievment way as it makes it easyer to make it a "U have class that lv" system, but would settle with same way China/Korea gets it added if it means we get it faster (IE: copy code rather than make new code)

The day I can glamour my carpenter's chainsaw as my sword will be the SECOND happiest day of my game life (the first being what's in my signature) :D

To reiterate: These outfits would/should only be purchaseable if the correct crafter discipline has been leveled. AKA 50 AF BSM awarded when BSM gets its 50 Achievement level etc. The achievement at level 50/60/70/etc unlocks a lvl 1 GLAMOR version that can be bought from the Achievement sales person in Gridania near Apkallu Falls.

Fine with me. I leveled all jobs to max anyway. Anything to get these outfits used on more than just their initial class.

I have all the crafters maxed and I'm still against this. AF gear should stay to the job that it's for. I'd just ask for more glamour plates to link.

It's not AF gear. SE never referred to it as such from anywhere I can see.

It is job-specific, it's artifact gear. It's category-specific, it's not artifact gear.

A disciple of hand or a disciple of land, or a tank, or a healer gear...Those are not artifact gears. Weaver, Botanist, Paladin, White Mage...those are artifact gears.

Artifact gears are also available at level caps (previous or current). And I'm pretty sure that all of em have blue backgrounds, too. Their looks are also traditionally reminiscent of the class.


So yes, these gears are most certainly artifact gears.

Over 2 years later, we're still waiting to be able to do this. Glamor class/job restrictions are silly imo but if we must they should have achievement pieces that are unlocked when you level the DoH/DoL.

Absolutely not. Crafting jobs are every bit as entitled to their own identity as combat jobs. If you want to look like a goldsmith, switch to goldsmith.

AF gear is designed specifically to give each job a visual identity all its own. That's the whole reason why we get cool gear like that in the first place. Removing its job association removes its reason for existing, not to mention ensures that no more will ever exist.

And worst of all is this attitude that only the combat jobs are worthy of ever having anything, and those worthless crafter nobodies need to bend down and kiss the boots of their betters (for only combat entitles anyone to actually have boots, or anything else). Geez, elitist much? smh

Just like with DoW/DoM jobs, the job-specific artifact gear should remain job-specific. An item such as Aesthete's Doublet of Gathering is not-class specific, but role-specific. I think items like that could be "All Classes" while the Mineking set should remain Miner-only. I won't lie, I'd love to be able to glamour some of the DoH/DoL items into an in-town casual outfit for my DoW/DoM.

I agree, I'd love to see glamour restrictions removed on role gear. Obviously weapons remain the way they are, and I agree that job/class specific artifact sets can remain non cross job glamable, but I'd love to see role gear have glam restrictions removed.

I really want to collect all crafter gear at least the chest and head, but my glamour storage said nope, its filled, fully filled....... cant they at least make them to also be storaged on special place instead of the 400 glamour......
