So since this was revived, let's me share something with people, that they can never unsee.

First, someone did confirm Au ra have nipples. But the more important thing is this.

Lalafells not only have nipples, but pecs too... let that sink in. And to add insult to injury. Lala nipples and pecs are part of the texture mapping, not the model, like the other races. So once you see them you can unseen them, lol.

Perhaps male nipples are a human thing, and these fantasy races simply don't have them.

It's kinda weird. I mean, on one side yeah, it's probably just their cultural view of nipples (how often do you see male nipples in anime?), on the other, Highlanders already kinda have them, they're just not...painted.

Jecht from FFX, Snow from FFXIII and Gladio from FFXV were all designed with their nipples proudly on display at various points in their respective games, so it doesn't seem to be a cultural thing so much as a specific hangup that whoever designed FFXIV's male models had.

Just use Scylla's robe of casting/healing from Syrcus tower, it's pretty much perfect.

Male nipples aren't always the solution to things...

Remember when they added nipples to the costumes in one of the Batman movies?

Yeah, and it was one of the least terrible things about that movie.

We'd have to ask if such a character build option would be worth the possibility of having half of 4chan add itself to the userbase..

It's very interesting how the posters who say such things often happen to be playing race/gender combinations that were quite clearly added with blatant fan-service in mind. People who play male characters (or just happen to like checking out good looking men) are allowed some of that, too.

Shirtless men are a pretty common way to provide easy, tasteful fan-service. Shirtless men without nipples just looks outright odd. Then, of course, there's people who don't want them added for the sake of fan-service but simply because they want the correct anatomy displayed.

Resources were spent on tweaking the gear in question to allow for fan-service you benefit from. I don't think it's unreasonable for resources to also be expended on male characters for a change in a way that benefits those of us who appreciate the male form.

I don't see why males can't get actual nipples/non-flat swimwear when everytime I port to Limsa I see a lot of Viera everywhere in very revealing clothing that isn't flat as a board on both sides, especially now that 2B butt enhancing gear is apparently a thing.

Not really asking for anything ridiculous, but it would be nice if males actually had a body type that isn't "so flat on both sides you can use them as a table"

Also as i said months ago on another post: the only reason im a viera is cause i lost a bet, i dont even like the race in particular[monotonous emotes, too tall,most faces look bad etc]
I was just fine with my Au Ra. Let us jump to conclusions anyway huh? As if the game doesnt have more problems, we should be worried about nipples instead.
As for the 2B outfit, im gonna be replacing it soon with something better, its kinda tiring to look at lately

Whatever powers Hollywood isn't the same as Japan. Different, stricter rules on what manages to be on the screen. It's why you have weird censorship. And unfortunately, nipples are included. I presume because they can be sexualized.

Ironically, though? Japan isn't the worst at it, I find China's censorship to be far more egregious... just look up what they do to blood, but fair warning: NSFW.
