Damn, thanks for the update and the hard work. Much appreciated.
The Exp. chemistry actually does still apply in command missions, but only if the chemistry is activated due party comp (including yourself I think), and it only boosts xp for that particular squadron member (i.e. not for you).
I've never seen an Exp. to all members modifier though.
I was about to say "Whoa I remember this from years back" but it seems it's the same topic!
Ahoi and thank you for the formidable calculator, Stoi!
I tried some calculations yesterday and I think I ran into a bug.
To reproduce:
- Use squadon data from local storage posted below (i have to split it, as post length is limited to 1000 chars)
- Calculate possible training paths
- The first training shows PHY 286 MEN 622 TAC 439 as target values
- MEN 622 is wrong, it turns out to be 608 in the game.
My suspicion:
The Archer somehow introduces a problem here. In the possible training parts there is one suggestion that doesn't incorporate the archer, and that possibility worked. The other three do not work properly, there are stats off (I did not try these in the game but manually calculated the training effects.
Again, thank you for the great work I hope I could help by sending this bug, and I hope more that I somehow made a mistake and the solution is once again: "Problem exists between keyboard and chair" :D

Wow, took me a while to figure this one and it was a really little and stupid mistake. The 3% was simply considered as 5%, I typed the wrong value in the drop-down menu...
When you go back to your squadron, open the chemistry for the archer, it should now display 5% instead of 3%. And if you change it to 3% and save, it'll erase the wrong value with the good one and everything should work fine.
Thank you very much for the lightning fast response! Once again: Great work!
Morning all,
I am having trouble using the tool. I have entered all the data correctly for my 8 squad members and their lv 40 mission but when i click the Solve button nothing happens on the page.
I have tried clearing the data and starting over as well as trying in another browser (Chrome & IE).
Would someone be able to help me figure out what I may be doing wrong?
Thanks
GB
Please use the export button in top the menu, right side, and send me the code. I'll have a look at your squadron.

Had to paste it in a google doc sine there is a character limit on this page. Please let me know if you are unable to view the code.
Thanks
Alright, that's what I thought. The checkboxes have nothing to do with the chemistries. These checkboxes allow you to exclude members from the simulation. And you must have at least 4 checked so that the app can calculate the results. The explanation about this is in the first paragraph of the "How to use FFXIV Squadron". You're not the first of misled by this, despite the text explanation. I'll consider moving the checkboxes on the left side.
I just released a visual/QoL update for the chemistries. Nothing should be broken by this update, but keep an eye on the values, just in case.
Thank you so much for the clarification!
Hello - I've updated the stats based on the new update, but I'm not sure if I made an obvious mistake or not; the calculations don't seem to match what's in game.
Here's the game's:

Here's the website's:

And here's the export of my squadron:

Alright, few little things here.
-Seems like you forgot to check the 'To all?' in our gladiator affinity.
-The 'all different class/race' affinity was not working as expected. It was based on the 8 members, not only the 4 selected. It's fixed now, I hope.
-I added the 'mission affinity is at maximum' trigger so that you won't have to use a placeholder trigger for your chemistries anymore. I assumed that this one is triggered when there are 3 mission affinities for a given mission, but they do not need to be all matched.
With all these fixes, I got the same results as you in-game. Let me know if something is not working as expected.
Actually, funny thing - I had checked to all, but it doesn't actually save. I just tried again, I ticked it, hit save, then click back to edit and it was gone.
I haven't tried the rest yet, but it sounds like the calculations got fixed - I'll try it out again tomorrow when they return from duty.
Thanks for being so quick to respond!
That's a strange issue. I tried on Chrome, Edge and FF and the checkbox is working fine. I can import/export and edit, the status is saved. Which browser are you using?
Using chrome; it seems to be working today though, the checkmark was already there this time, didn't have to check it.
Thanks for this my squad has been a failsquad so far despite being very close to the requirements
I am literally 1 stat point off, in game, when my squadrons mission results say I should be bang on point. Usually 1 stat difference shouldn't make much of a difference, but in this case....
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...it?usp=sharing
There was indeed an extra point, the culprit was the conjurer 54. It had 135 MEN instead of 134. I just fixed it now.
Thank you ^^. Any other time and I might not have even noticed it, but that one point literally made the difference XD
I made a change in the configuration, it's possible that the site appears as not accessible for a short period of time.
Even reading some of the comments I still don't get how it works is there a link to any video of someone with step by step instructions?
There's a big wall of text explaining how to use the app, the right side, under the Results title. Is there something not clear enough in this? Here are the basics on how to calculate a result.
1) Fill the Squadron form with your squadron members. Most of the fields speak for themselves, just note that the second drop-down menu is for the level and the input field is for the current XP value of each member. Do let the checkbox ticked unless you want to exclude a member from the calculation.
2) Fill the Training form with the values you have in-game. You only have to set the values for PHY, MEN and TAC and the current rank of your squadron. The rest is for simulating a training and/or an XP gain and update your squadron automatically.
3) Fill the Mission form. Select the mission you want to complete in-game and set the values in this form. Most of the fields speak for themselves here too.
4) Hit the Solve button. The app will search the combinations for you for the mission you selected.
Here's an import code you can use with a basic working example. https://pastebin.com/SK0f3X61
Just click Import in the top right corner and paste the code in the field.
I hope this will help you understand.
I just say screw it, have average stats and then a range of different physical / magic jobs.
I find I can do most missions and if I can't, no big loss.
I don't think I should have to do calculus (kidding, kidding) to manage a squadron.
I just wanted to thanks gratefully Stoi for his app/website...it really helped me a lot understanding and efficiently using my squad. Hope you'll still update your website for future changes.
Greetings Warriors of Light,
I cannot express how much I appreciate being able to calculate my squadron training in order to 100% missions.
That being said I've thought about the interface and wondered if I might be able to suggest a few things in order to improve its usability.
1. Squad tabs. These are probably really great for players that have multiple accounts but the majority of us only have one account, and thus only have one squadron. What we need is multiple missions for one squadron.
2. Training on one squadron that effects all squadrons. Currently I use all 5 squadrons to do calculations for five different weekly missions. It would be nice if when I did training to get one mission to have a certain result, it would update all the other squads so I can recalculate them.
What would be really neat is to take your calculator, add a form to add mission specifics, then a button to add those missions specifics to a list. Have each mission on the list with a button to calculate. Then have a squad section, with buttons to do training and the like. Have any mission calculate button use the squad stats to calculate. Thus the mission calculations provide the training requirements, the training buttons update the squad stats, and the squad stats change the results when the calculation is done again.
A little more work and you can make an edit button on the missions so that we can just update them each week when their requirements and affinities change.
Anyway, thanks again for making such an amazing calculator. I'll continue to use it as is for now but hope that some day we might have an easier way to calculate our weekly farms.
I don't have much time to work on this tool at the moment, but I'll keep these ideas somewhere in my mind for when I'll want to play again with this tool.
This Tool is great.
I was struggling with the Level 40 Mission 'Crystal Recovery' for quite a while. Now i finally got it thanks to this!
Glad it helped!
Great site, use it often.
I run multiple accounts/characters, wold it be possible to implement a character name box?
Would make it better to remember what tab belongs to what character.
I just released an update that adds a dropdown menu for the name of the squadron members. The name should also be displayed in the tooltip when you hover a character icon in both the results and the training menu. I also fixed an issue where the training tooltip would sometimes not update correctly.
Let me know if something got broken with this update or if something is not working as expected.
I'll come tomorrow with something for the character/account name. (edit: as I'm not sure where to put that box yet)
I added a new "Rename Squadrons" menu, that can be accessed from the top menu, in the top right corner. From there, you can rename your squadrons to whatever you want, and this will change the name in the top menu. You can also leave the name blank if you don't want to display specific squadrons. Please note that the name setting is not saved with the squadron, so exporting your squadron won't export the name.
I also fixed an issue introduced with yesterday's update, where the names of the squadron members would not reset upon switching from one squadron to another, and an older issue where sometimes two windows would open when opening a menu, under certain circumstances.
let me know if you find any issue.
I didn't find this in current chemistries: "When not accompanying someone of the same race...".
There is "accompanying someone of a different race" but that is not the same as the negation of "accompanying someone of a same race".
Some chemistries were poorly worded at first and got edited later, so I'm not surprised this could have happened, the data I have about the chemistries is a bit old. I made some researches and found a few hints about what should be changed to have the chemistries updated, but this will need confirmation.
1. The current chemistry "accompanying someone of a different race" should be changed to "not accompanying someone of the same race".
2. The chemistry "mission affinity is at maximum" should be removed.

Can my assumptions be confirmed so that I can start working on the changes? Thanks.
"mission affinity is at maximum" is what you get when the race it lists match a squad member. It's still there, and boosts your effects to 100%. I don't know if that's important at all for the purposes of this.
