Ohh.. Thought I had it set default to EU. I don't care for NA :)
Pretty shitty campaign though. I would rather having a amazon campaign but I guess they learned their lesson with that fiasco
Edit: Wtf SE not available in nordic countries. ...

This is beyond ridiculous, I'm not going to purchase three copies of a magazine, and then wait 3 months to get the items I ACTUALLY want. Yes, they said we will get more opportunities in the future to get these items again but really? This promotion design is disgusting. We don't get any freedom to pick what we want, we are supporting an awful company and in return we have to wait 3 months AND pay more money then other regions. Well done ~
Solution: Mogstation; we get to directly support SE, get our items instantly and skip all the bullshit. Kthnx.
Yet again EU accounts get shafted. Boy do I regret not signing up for a North American account.
Time to play the waiting game... Again. Nice work SE, you sure know how to make player base happy.
(Just posting this here - that a lot of people are boycotting this event including myself, just wait - save your money they'll be a lot easier to get soon I hope.)
this is a promotion. Not free items. Not items in Mogstation. What kind of promotion would it be if it didn't promote anything?
perhaps the reason for this is because how badly Amazon stuff was botched? And you had to show yourself to buy 100 bottles of water. Even if you had them delivered to you, you would still need to sign the physical delivery. Otherwise the person in the store could identify you.
No, but you can order them separately and they will still be delivered to your doorstep.
As for your anxieties. How is that SE's problem. "Oh sorry SE, I can't partake in this mountain-bike promotion cause I HAVE NO LEGS!". It's a promotion. Not a subscription reward. Not a freebie. Not a mogstation item.
Just adding my voice to the complaints.
A magazine nobody reads and a massive privacy concern having to send in selfies.
Yeah, no thanks. As far as this is supposed to "promote" the game I have a feeling it'll backfire.
I'm legit mad at SE for this, the only thing I wanted was the costume. Now we have to wait another 3 months AND be forced to buy a terrible magazine that no shops stock anymore.
All of this could be solved with one solution: Steam.
Make sure that the players don't refund the game and allow a minimum of 20 euro purchase and that the code must be proved by something, to not allow bots or something, and poof: you get your codes. Maybe allow 20 for the bare minimum and 30-40 for all the package. Simple stuff!
It's not the best safe way because you can always make multiple steam accounts....but it's 1000% times more accessible than this atrocity!
If they sell out and I can't get the codes I'll be so upset. :(
I knew that as a UK player I'd get screwed... But they really didn't need to use sand as lube. =(
Absolutely disgraceful "promotion".
I was reading about this, it seems the three month way is only for people who want everything? And really the white chocobo looks identical to the yellow one except in white.
At least people who just want the maid/butler outfit only have to buy one magazine and don't have to take any pictures.
It still sucks for you guys but at least it's a silver lining that it's not all or nothing?
Also, for those of us outside of the UK have to pay for them to send as well, making it all in all redicoulously expensive.. I hope they do better for that small sidenote they had about nordic countries, cause I sure as hell aint sending my picture to some random uk magazine
Hmm why is this even so... bad? For a promotion like this being this bad, you can bet your ash that the gaming websites (yes, those are a thing SE these days!) will have negative press all over. Oh boy someone really needs to reconsider their occupation, whoever came up with that idea! This wasn't thought through in the slightest
did you consider that it's THEM promoting the magazine and in Japan's case 7-eleven?
And once again, to those complaining about this - stop acting entitled.
A) this is a promotion item. PROMOTION. Same as there are special items for gaming events. They're not required to give it to you in any other form.
B) they're not even required to run the promotion in EU at all. There are plenty of continent exclusive items. If they wanted to keep the competition to JP exclusive, they could have done it.
Going to the store to buy something VS sending a personal email with a personal picture to a less-than-reputable third-party company where who knows what they might use the picture/email for.
If a shop clerk was personally taking pictures of each person buying an item you'd have a point and I'd be hesitant to step in there, but no. You're not making your case any better.
Pay 24€ and send my picture?
Square I would pay you 30 but buy some random magazine and send my photo?
Not going to happen -_-
like I said, I had to send my ID to stores before and that's far more intrusive. The picture does not have to have your head in it. All it has to have is the proof that you actually own the magazines and that you own the codes. As for email, you can create a gaming email/ temporary email for things like these if you're so afraid that they're going to do something with your email address.
Throwing my hat into the "screw that" group. Unless they come up with a better option, I'm not considering this and feel that my opinion of SE has lowered for even having this campaign. They would have been better off just putting it up on Mogstation if it was all about money. If it's about advertising, the best advertising is to not piss off your existing user base with stupid requirements.
As a player in Ukraine, this is exceptionally disappointing. This magazine does not even ship to my country. :(
I'd rather not. I don't have a PC, so this would actually be less useful than the magazines to me (even though I 100% agree with everything people have been saying about how little they want random magazines).
The costumes are with the third issue so nobody in EU is going to have their items until September. Literally the only silver lining right now for me is that I happen to have easy access to stores which carry the magazine, and even that's spoilt by the knowledge that my friends overseas have to choose between waiting for an offer which will probably never come to their country or importing the magazines, which is made unnecessarily difficult by the poor distribution system. When I buy Japanese magazines for codes I can buy digital versions (no shipping costs or delays!) or pick up the physical copies from Amazon Japan. The systems in place for this magazine's distribution are antiquated in comparison.
I don't mind the photo as I'm just going to send them a Pokemon Go image of a monster 'holding' my codes or something. They can't judge me for how I look in the real world :D
So even if I wanted to buy it say digitally I seem to be out of luck. I can't even get it on google play store. And I don't even know if I'd get codes for Digital Only.
So I'd have to buy magazines for 27€ plus shipping to Croatia plus send a selfie to some English Company.
I can understand it being for UK player like that. But what about the rest of the EU? Can't you do something over Steam or something? How the hell am I supposed to get these codes? This is insane.
Seems there will be a different promotion for these countries.
Note: Separate campaigns offering the same in-game items are currently being planned for those residing in: France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Australia, New Zealand and Nordic territories. Further details on these campaigns will be posted at a later date.
It makes me wonder what they have in store for Australian players if they are pulling this sort of crap for UK players. I don't understand why they just didn't add the item bundle of Mogstation after the JP promo ended. :\
lol is this a troll cos im finding this really difficult to understand how a team of monkeys are running this circus of a game we are paying for monthly. GG because I know certain players in the UK who will NOT pay for this magazine, ontop of the subscription. people who will go to the shops, FIND this magazine, and write down the codes, rip out the codes, and innocent people will buy that ridiculous magazine and be ripped off! and then we have to take a picture too... kids play this game... where the hell are the photographs even going????? who is behind the screen looking at these photos? Im not comfortable doing this AT ALL.
Because they chose an obscure magazine that no one even buys anymore. Because it's not teh 90s anymore, you shouldn't have to send a photo of yourself to any company to get something.
No one is asking for the items for free.
I would be happy to pay for the items, but we're not being given the same luxuries as NA or Japanese accounts were, they had the option to buy something they'd enjoy, get use out of. We're being told to buy this or you won't get it.
Besides the fact a magazine isn't a relable source, if every UK(not including other EU players) wanted to buy the magazine for teh codes they're shit out of luck because the magazine does not publish enough issues.
And like people have said.
If you're sending a photo of yourself, holding the cards, then how many people are going to get lost in the paperwork. Are we really expecting people to manually sit down, verify every single photo and send out codes?
Even worse, because they chose the worst kind of. Not to just pick a magazine really, but the fact they chose the most unaccessible of all kind. Not everyone wants to do this busy work for a costume (and a mount.
1) That's true, unless you don't care about being mistreated: it doesn't matter if a shop gives me a 80% promotion on an item when they treat me like trash, nobody will ever touch that shop ever again. In this case, EU is being treated like trash since that our promotion will take us 3 months instead of 24 hours like in JP or NA. That and the hard-to-access magazine for most players.
2) No they're not , you are correct, but as I said above: unless you don't like being mistreated, backlash will be present. China outfits are a bit different because they cannot play with the rest of the world, but NA JP and EU play on the same servers as a matter of fact (I play on a NA server but I've seen JP and even a lot of EU players here): equality is key in this case. If you're fine with it, then don't let me stop you but considering, but considering that NA and JP had a fairly accessible way to obtain the items, while we don't (keyword here is accessibility), you cannot expect people to be happy.
That's why I came up with steam: it's more accessible and most EU players have a steam account. Win-win.
As it is, I'm only expecting a very few players to do this convoluted "promotion" to bother with the entire ordeal.
That and people who want to sell codes, that is.
I think this promotion will a give a lot of resentment toward SE especially form EU users.
Not only they got it later, but apparently, (At least for UK player atm) get the worst deal when compared to other region.
(Unless you want the magazine and okay with sending your pic via email to get all of the promotional item. but yeah, compare that to 20$ product of your choice or a soft drink and simply get the code)
tbh, I guess it's too late to change things now.
I just hope that SE realize on how bad they screwed up on the PR side of the campaign and take it into consideration when planing for next one(if there will be one)
I held off preordering FFXV waiting on us getting the deal, buying something I wanted and putting more money in SE's pocket at the same time, but instead we have to buy overpriced glossy toilet paper?
as always suck all the EU and other region $...
our subscription already way more expensive than NA and JP. Why keep doing this YOSHIDA!?
Welcome to promotions. They're different to regular store items and are supposed to be special and given if you fulfill special requirements.
With Japanese it was a large amount of very specific water. How will you get any enjoyment out of that? With NA people cheated, so expect to never see a promotion like that ever again.
It's not any different than bottles of water. The store next to you can *gasp* run out of bottles of water too!
YES. The same way that the stores have support teams that sit down and manually verify your identity cards. Have you never bought anything of smaller internet retailers?
I understand that but if you look at the list of countries in this promotion it includes countries that appear to have another promotion in the planning/works. Perhaps those will allow for a lot of countries to participate as well. I have no idea how long it'll be before they announce those but it might be worth waiting to see if your country can participate in them.
I would imagine that SE understands at this point that many people aren't very happy with this and hopefully they'll do something about it.
Actually. Water was just the cheapest way. You could choose a lot of different stuff in JP.
YEAH! Let's mistreat those console peasants! Who needs them anyway, eh?
Welcome to PROMOTIONAL ITEMS. You know, stuff that not every Joe and Jane should have?
And I still don't see how buying a gaming magazine is being mistreated. I think that people are simply too entitled these days.
I'm absolutely FURIOUS at this! I don't mind buying something but why not just put the items on Mogstation.
I have to wait 3 freaking months to get the items I want AND then I have to jump through some freaking ridiculous HOOP of sending a selfie to a magazine...
What the hell were you thinking?! Let along players anywhere else in the EU who also have to wait for their freaking stuff to get lost in the mail!
Really, REALLY bad idea SE.
Except, that every "Joe and Jane" have it: they only had to purchase something for 20 bucks and get their codes within 24 to 48 hours. We have to wait 3 months at best.
It's not about entitlement, it's about fair chances: NA and JP had a fair chance by having access to the uniform IMMEDIATELY, as soon as they get their purchase done.
In our case? We have to buy the right issue (In my case, it would be the one from september), and send a photo (because who cares about privacy) and HOPE that our code is going to be sent. We need to wait such a long time for a promotion that in other countries only took a few days. If that's not mistreatment I don't know, enjoy your promotion?
PS: Steam is just an idea, because most players (MOST, keyword here being MOST) have a steam account. They could also do with PSN if that bothers you so much: all I'm saying is that for a promotion to be SUCCESSFUL it should be ACCESSIBLE.
As it is, it's not and I wouldn't be the least surprised if the "promotion" fails in terms of sales.
Oh and expect a raise on codes selling!
Please tell me how we are not being mistreated?
1. We pay more than other regions.
2. We get magazines while NA and JP got stuff they could actually use. Sure, there may be that one single soul out there still reading them, but it's 2016 for christ's sake!
3. We have to wait 3 months to get our items on top of waiting for it to finally come to EU, or should i say the UK.
Also literally EVERYONE in NA could get the promotional items by ordering various stuff online. A magazine can be sold out.
To those people saying "it's a promotion!". Yes, it is. But compared to the other ones, this one is REALLY bad for the players. Buying something to drink is useful, buying stuff what you want on Amazon is useful as well.
But buying a magazine you don't even want because it's 2016? Just feels like the other promotions were much better for the players.
