No offense to my Roegadyn, but given the choice between the two in this game I'd probably be the big hulking Galka caster I once was again.

The fact we even got we have with the Roegadyn is as best as we'll probably ever get, I really do miss my galka tail though :(

The Roegadyn "IS" a modified version of the Galka just like every other race was example Lalafells are slightly taller. They had the most revision but the point still stands. Despite what people think beauty was never an issue concerning the Roegadyn it's a matter of Vanity versus Strength. Most people fail to see a Strong woman as Beautiful and vice versa.

We are the most practical looking women in terms of what a strong woman would look like in a Fantasy world versus these Bratz Dolls running around in bikinis. We are supposed to be chiseled and toned considering we fight for a living.

Those female Highlander thighs.

Even though they get flack for being gangly and ackward I find that Fem Elezen have a sort of refined grace.

It's fun watching every femroe get up in arms when anyone says they don't like them/find them attractive.

Darn. I forgot about that. If there's anything I love male miquote for, it's how much more expressive they seem with their ears compared to their female counterparts. When I first saw the male miquote panic emote, I couldn't help but D'aww.

I'm equally in love with Xeala Auri ladies and Dunesfolk Lalafellin girls, with Suncats as a close second :o
Which means I HAVE to switch between these 3 on a regular basis! So many fantasias...:eek:

It totally holds true for playing any other race though. I had an Elezen lady once, and 2 Hyurs (one female, one male), and while they all were nice and everything, they just felt...off.
I'm tiny in RL, the perspective of my character looking DOWN to other players was way too weird to bear :eek:

I am quite fond of roes. And I usually play as one. But every so often, I get the urge to play Midlander Hyur. But even during those phases, I have a soft spot in my heart for roegadyn.

It might be due to the fact that we get called men. I've had randoms call me a man with tits, tranny, cross dresser, etc in dungeons. Hard to not take offense at that.

I wish I was enarmored, but all the races are Hyurs with some differences. If the races were more different, then I would probably have a favourite race. It doesnt help that female Au Ra is a Hyur with scales and male Au Ra is a Elezen with scales and big hips. I dislike World of Warcraft, but that game has done one thing correct and that is the different races, from humans to elves to, from beast races to monsters like the undead. This is something that FFXIV is lacking alot.

Aslong as SE is going to keep playing it safe and release cute hyur hybrid races, I can sadly not be enarmored by any of them.

I could go on, but that's not where I was going with my first comment. I was commenting something I noticed in these forums that I found entertaining.

I have been a Roegadame for a short time and so far, players have called my character pretty. I was expecting people to insult me, but instead they praised me. Are Roes less popular, yes, we can not deny this, but I do not think they are ugly.

The rest of the female races (except lalafels ) looks around 30-40 years old so no thanks.

Maybe it's super stereotypical, but I feel like I can't play anything but mooncat males! I've tried to play other races/tribes but I always end up back at mooncat male pretty quick. I love their emotes (especially the shocked and cat nap emote), cute little fangs, and their darker color schemes. Also don't have to deal with the high-pitched voices from the girl cats, which I don't personally enjoy listening to much.

I love looking at male Au Ra! Their grumpy expressions and way of standing are so funny to me. IMO, it somehow looks as if they are always a little uncomfortable to be where they are? I just headcanon them all as somewhat socially awkward and that makes me want to say hi to every one I come across. XD

I think Roegadames are super pretty! I have a max height lady roe retainer and I love calling her and watching my character suddenly have to look up two more feet to see her face lol. Also lady roes have some of the best race specific hairstyles in the game, IMO.

It’s sad that there is so much prejudice in the game. It’s silly because we are talking about fictitious races. So folks, can we cool it? This thread is about which races we players enjoy playing. If you cannot express what you like without putting another player’s chosen race down then you don’t belong in this thread.

As a former Highlander, I agree! Assuming we'll go to Ala Mhigo in 4.0 we'll see a lot more Highlanders.

I actually kinda wonder about how many people pick up on this, as I constantly hear the default voices from everyone in DF. The miqo'te female one in particular is nails-on-chalkboard irritating, and I don't understand how people abide it. Also of note is the default female highlander which for some reason is very gentle and maidenly, which is weird when they max out the fierce warrior-woman look that ladylanders pull off so well.

It sucks that the combat voices have no preview, because those are a crapshoot. But, for Au Ra: Try voices 5, 7, and 8. They're pretty good.

Female Miqo'te. When my friend was trying to convince me to play (I was stubbornly refusing to pay a sub for a game, but in my defense I didn't make much at my job at the time), she was like "You could be a cat person" (because she knows I love kitties), and she even made a WIP model of my current character (on OC of mine) and I was sold. That was it. That and the pictures from her wedding.

I've made Female Au Ra's and I love them too, but I always go back to Miqo'te. I tend to prefer Keepers over Seekers. Dem kitty fangs. <3

Not gonna get the nobel prize of originality, but cute female miqotes completely shadow everything else.

I don't know, their body shape is perfect, they too are potentially the shortest race (I think?) which is good because I like short women (excluding lalas...but I'm not much into lolis lol). Their eyes are astonishingly beautiful; their ears are cute. I love how they walk too, they just do it so casually despite being true beauties... I cannot stand for instance a female hyur's midlander walk... and highlanders look too angry for my taste XD.

Lalas and Roes are funny races...but that's that, they aren't races I wouldn't stick for long. Auras are cute too, but their ears looking like pork cracklings is a complete deal breaker for me.
