You can banter back and forth all day about situations and scenarios, the end result is just someone doing something incorrect which is completely subjective to YOU. And it might not be intentional; Rather a poorer understanding of what's best at that current point in time.If we're talking strictly randoms in a DF I don't know what you'd exactly expect from people you well.... don't fking know... It's never going to be a completely synergistic group. You're trusting a group of strangers to know their class, how to play it and now you're forcing your ideals upon them and if they don't comply they're inept? It's not as simple as that.
When you only have 30 or so minutes to gauge a person with a simple "Hello" "Goodbye" and everything that comes in between. Which is quite honestly nothing to go on. You have to make a general assessment of people through their play style and gear in maybe the first 10 Minutes of game time. GOOD LUCK. Remember the fact that you yourself are also one of those "Randoms".
I've been with DF tanks who overpull, underpull, perfectly pull, can't tank, can't stance dance, poorly position, Can't DPS, Can't stop tunnel visioning, Are scared to engage and pull, Who are kind, mean, neutral, funny, under-geared, over-geared
I'm not alone in this statement. We're probably all in the same boat here.
My point is, Adapt to the situation as best you can. You can only do as much as you can. Your primary function as a healer is to keep your tank and group alive, Everything else is secondary. The group might go faster and you might have more fun if your tanks pulled the proper amount of monsters to allow you to toss out some damage as a healer. It's true. But If you're going to complain about it, take your friends with you. It's usually faster and always a lot more enjoyable.
Have no friends? There are other avenues to take, you can play a different class, Party finder with ppl on your server to maybe meet your dream tank. Maybe you'll ride off into the sunset together killing all the Hresvelgrs you can stuff in your mouth. Idfk. >_>;
