I can ask one of my mates tonight or tomorrow for the Du hotspot thingy.

Shame i spent so much to advance in that game i love it :(
You can find the chat support here, there seems to be some issues at the moment...I will try it later.
I am downloading the game on pc right now, this is the version number showing on the screen:
2015.12.09.0000.0001
while in ps4 this is the version number that do not want to change:
2015.12.09.0000.0000
I deleted the game from my ps4, reinstall, then when it was downloading it was :2015.12.09.0000.0001, but when its done downloading it came back to 2015.12.09.0000.0000, so there is an issue updating that version. i don't think the ISP blocked anything.
I just sent SE a ticket asking them to contact our ISP if that the problem and try to fix things .. And told them to check psn also ..
PlayStation Chat Support is currently closed at this time. We are open from Monday-Saturday 6:00am - 10:00pm PT and Sunday 6:00am - 8:00pm PT.
I sent a help ticket stating the same requst as Miss-Wanted, Shiro, follow this link: https://support.eu.square-enix.com/c...p?id=5383&la=2
So you guys are able to play on pc fine?
On my laptop and it sucks xD ... I dont have a PC .. I stll prefer ps4 over PC
Of course sadly on ps4 is much better with my big screen TV, this is a PSN issue i guarantee you that, they have to fix something they missed up in the last update, but i think middle east customers are maybe not that important to them, that's my 2cents opinion.
Any idea if i we change our region will that make a difference? mine is Europe & Other Regions
sent another ticket to SE, filed a complaint with Etisalat, tried PSN chat (which is not working atm) and did all the things in the link that SE gave me and still nothing.... all those poetics, laws, esoterics, beast tribe tokens, and overall enjoyment out of the window...... T_T
I'm playing on pc now :) its fine ,its the same ,all you need xbox controller
damn u pc master race! T_T joking aside, pc playing friends are having a go at me now for playing thru a console :(
bumping this thread. i just encountered this "Version Check" issue yesterday morning and am also located in the UAE atm (w/ etisalat as my ISP).
did anyone have any luck yet? particularly with support, or changing port/security settings? this is my 2nd going on 3rd day.
btw, my version says 2015.12.12 with a bunch of zeroes. did deleting/re-installing help any of you? thanks.
I'm not extremely fluent in all this technical stuff but I'm trying my best so bear with me lol.
When I contacted SE chat support, the agent ran a trace route test to see if he could send/receive data packets from the US to here (Abu Dhabi, UAE). He said that at some point the data packets fail to reach. He suggested I use port forwarding (which didn't solve the problem) and contact my ISP (Etisalat) to see if they could had any solutions. Ofcourse, Etisalat customer care representatives didn't know what a data packet was, all they could do was reboot my modem/router from their end which didn't help. I asked them if they'd made any changes to their servers in the past week (4-5 days ago specifically) and they said they hadn't. So I'm thinking that it may be more of a Sony/PSN-related issue that affected all Etisalat users, maybe it was the last PSN update.
no surprise @ etisalat. i'm only here temporarily and they've been so dismal already.
so... does this mean just waiting it out? as in, will it resolve itself? or is it a good idea to contact Sony/PSN support at this time? kinda stumped here. and i just resubbed for 3 months :/
Breaking News:
I've spoken to an SE agent who was able to provide me with vital information regarding our issue.
"After completing a Trace Route test to your Public IP Address, we are indeed detecting data packet-loss at the following server/location:
[SERVER URL: lon-ra-ge-1-0.emix.net.ae /IP ADDRESS: 195.229.4.71]
This may be the reason for your ongoing connection/communication issue. This is usually caused by an active firewall/security protocol currently active on this "backbone" server, and is interrupting the data packets required to communicate with the FFXIV servers. Unfortunately, as this is a "backbone" server utilized by your Internet Service Provider, this would have to be rectified by your ISP by either removing any active firewalls/security protocols, and/or re-routing your network settings to bypass that server/location entirely.
If they attempt to do this and you are still experiencing issues I would suggest asking a Line Technician to come out to your house. Most ISPs offer this service and it is free of charge. If they make an adjustment at this point and it doesn't fix the issue I would definitely say give this a try."
I don't know how to reach someone in Etisalat, Abu Dhabi who understands what any of that means, or someone that has the power to do anything regarding that. So I'll need everyone who has this problem to contact Etisalat in their area and give them the information quoted above.
The first thing to do would be to try connecting your console to your router directly using a wired cable if you are using wireless internet and then ensuring that the correct ports have been forwarded on your router. You can find out more about forwarding ports on the site http://portforward.com/english/appli...l_Fantasy_XIV/ you should be able to follow the instructions on that site to forward the correct ports FINAL FANTASY XIV: Online needs and you will not download any additional software from that site as it is not necessary.
If that does not help we would recommend making some adjustments to your network settings by following the instructions below :
- Start PlayStation 4
- Go to settings
- Go to network
- Select setup internet connection
- Select Use a LAN cable (or wi-fi if that?s what you are using)
- Select Custom (there?s several pages to go through here. For settings other than MTU and DNS servers, if there are specific settings your network connection has to use, feel free to set them up rather than using automatic settings)
- IP Address (set to automatic)
- DHCP host name (set to ?Do Not Specify?)
- DNS Settings (set to Manual)
- Primary: 8.8.8.8
- Secondary: 8.8.4.4
- MTU Settings (set to Manual)
- At default this would be 1500. Try setting it to 1470. You can experiment with this setting a little bit, but we would not recommend you go below 1400.
- Proxy (set to ?Do Not Use?)
- Now test the connection
This was sent to me by SE to try. still at work atm so i cant try it out myself, you guys could give it a whirl, if you haven't yet, and maybe it might work on 01 or 02 of us. *crossing fingers*
I've opened all ports to FFXIV servers and I've played with the MTU settings, none of that works. We've found the problem, and it's not on our end at home (has nothing to do with network or router settings). Read what I posted above.
i have read what you read above as you can clearly see, i can understand english. i am just giving another way for others to try to hopefully get their game to work. please read my post above as well.

thanks to everyone posting tips. i'm headed to one of etisalat's offices tomorrow (cause their online billing isn't working... lol) and will ask about this issue. it's just very odd that this is happening so suddenly. i experienced packet loss several months ago, but that only caused me to disconnect until a tech came and changed the cables.
If you do manage to find someone who understands data loss and firewalls, make sure you give them the IP address 195.229.4.71 which is where the data gets cut off. Good luck!
I called Etisalat, gave me their primary and secondary DNS addresses, didn't work, they apologized said that's all they could do :/
anyways here it is if anyone needs them:
Primary: 195.229.241.222
Secondary: 213.42.20.20
Then its a psn problem believe me :/
