Thordan ex sucks.

the main problem of hard content is people mindset. Most of the players joins a PF party with no knowledge of the fight (which is very well explained on forums, so you are just lazy to not check that). On top of that their first thought is "lets hope its decent pt" because they just want to get carried.

There are already all phases explained with videos out, if you dont understand mechanic, ask. Learn. dont just be silent and wipe. Its not rocket science. But this rant about it being hard is quite wrong imo.
Its not that the content is hard, its that you are lazy to learn it.

70% of the player base is bad at goddamn video games. This does not mean there is something wrong with video games. You do not have a God given right to clear content.

The extreme primals were never meant for the average player to beat. Said by Yoshi-P himself when they came out with the first ones. Basically an "if you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen" skill content.

Participation awards breed mediocrity. I haven't cleared 100% of the game yet and that doesn't bunch my panties. Thordan is a great addition the the primal lineup. Remember garuda in 1.0? Lots of people never cleared that and that's okay.

Thordan is actually a very well designed fight. Light DPS checks with some well designed soft enrages. Failed mechanics are not always an instant wipe if you are on your game otherwise.

It still requires good play and coordination but it doesn't feel like I'm playing against the limits of their server infrastructure unlike with most of Alex Savage.

I really hope this kind of fight is the template for the next set of Alex endgame fights.

Of all the content in 3.1, this was the most fun. Well... I didn't do Void Ark yet but I am not really interested in CT: Part Deux. In comparison Diadem was a snorefest mainly due to the NMs/mobs being damage sponges with nothing interesting or dangerous about em. Wish it was more like the beginning before you get the aether currents, dodging and pulling strategically.

Not everyone will be able to clear everything immediately when it releases, and if you want to clear it, then you need to put in the same amount of time and effort as everyone else does. The fight doesn't need a nerf. People just need to learn how to work together.

You may have been right but it still makes me cringe to hear the static argument for clearing content, a lot of the "difficulty" and I use that term lightly in this case stem from the lack of communication and community. Statics may have the aspect of communication down, yes, but I still feel it's doing to much for content I'd likely be one and done with since the reward isn't that good for most ex fights. The only time I thought anything needed a nurf was t5 since dive bombs can seriously boil down to a mere few centimeters and kill someone, even though I can clear that fight in my sleep now, that phase still is deadly.

I tried thordan ex 3 times.

Failed 3 times.

Yet I know this isn't because of my dps, but because we failed the mechanics. It's still a new fight and it's a well designed one.

Players complain about dps checks being number 1, needing to do 90% max dps is too difficult

A trial is made where dps isn't main priority, plenty of soft enrages but with the main focus towards mechanics, players complain

Wtf do you want, a tank and spank that at the end just says gg well-done your awesome?

I've seen a few wipes due to failed DPS checks here, I've seen a DPS doing 400-500 DPS on more than a few occasions. I just give it up for the day when that happens.

That's very sad to see :( im a ps4 player myself so its impossible for me to know what numbers people are pushing, can only see if a friend is there providing information.

yesterday I joined up with a diadem pf party, 2 of the members didn't realise it had a 2hr cooldown (drg mch). 20mins were remaining but we all agreed to wait for them, I didn't mind gave me a little levelling time with my fisher and at least they know it from now on.

We enter with these 2 and how are we repayed? the drg wasmore focused on making custom emotes than dpsing, and the mch didn't bother attacking stars. This resulted in us not getting credit for 4/5 star ranks.... that was it for me, once the run finished I just logged off :/

The 1 star drop we actually got credit for you know what dropped? A drg head, I died a little inside

Edit: Did my first learning group today ^.^ this fight is so fun, group lasted full 90mins we got ourselves to P4 meteors. Took a little while for our tanks to get accustomed to sword oath knight, very enjoyable so far and looking forward to the next set of mechanics

What if Thordan EX is designed to counter all the robotic clear methods like DPS parsers and more mechanic focused? I mean I haven't touched him but I'm just throwing it out there.

It's new, it's a wall and we haven't seen one in awhile so that's interesting.
