the sad part is some of them never know it because of jerks that would rather impatiently say "you suck" than say hey you know you may not be doing your job efficiently perhaps you should look up a guide or ask some friends for help. or even be nice and give pointers themselves if they know the job...
you know if you help someone get better at their job(if they are willing to listen) things tend to go smoother. cause you know people don't like being told they suck and tend to push against that. but being told "hey I think you could be better at this" is something else and sounds much friendlier.

I usually don't even bother trying to help any more unless the person in question asks first, as a negative response is all too common even when I'm being polite, and I just don't want to deal with that. People can't take even tiny amounts of criticism, even when it is legit and presented in a non-antagonistic manner...it's like they see the devil hiding around every corner and lash out at the first sign of a shadow.
