I click Sprint, and my character starts running immediately.
I click Swiftcast, and I don't have to wait one second to be able to use it.
I can chain CDs in a short duration if I wanted to.
When I move half the cast duration in, the cast actually cancels.
When I avoid AoE, I don't actually have a 10% chance to randomly get hit anyway.
When I heal someone for 4000, they don't die half a second later after taking 2000 damage.
When I click on NPCs, the text pops up instantly (If they don't have a silly animation or turning to do first)
Market Board doesnt lag.
I can properly use my Off GCDs.
I have an easier time hitting running targets.
If I Flash a group of enemies, they all actually get hit.

Well, it seems the problem isn't resolved for me (Odin, from France). I still experience aoes issues : stepping back from the aoe before it ends and still receiving damages... :'-(

From 100 ping to 25, game feels the same difference is I now have a tiny bit more time to get out of aoes but can't reenter them safely before the aoe goes off.
I have a 14 ms loss between two jump in frankfurt it seems there is some sort of bottleneck here.Quote:

It happens sometimes. There's a rate limit for most network analysis tools on the servers so once the limit is reached, it drops the packets. Normally, it's not a problem as the limits are pretty high and limit reset interval is quite short. It doesn't mean your game packets are being dropped.
It seems that there is a sort of bottleneck networking wise in frankfurt between these two jump 14 ms between two ip within the same city looks weird.

Ping reduced from 170-180ms to 50-60ms for me. Cheers this is more than I expected. It did a whole lot of difference. Now NPC's and skills react almost instantly.
At this moment I am rolling with 19ms. Skills are instant, retainers are instant, mining is epic, market board is epic.

Same here, living in germany paid off for once xD
I can cast 3-sign Ninjutsu between two skills and barely loose any time anymore, unlike before where i lost a whole gcd worth of time. And everything else is reacting instanly, MB, gathering, crafting, retainers, company chest, Vendors - its like... a 3 month early christmas!
It's not only Ninja, even as BLM the delay where F4 and B4 are unlocked after changing into the element is so quick you do not loose a whole second worth of UI or AF anymore which you can spend casting now in the end. Have yet to see how it is on my AST but the card draw delay should be pretty awesome now too >;3

Less lag doesnt make all those D and F players that were so bad before any better now - and i say this as a native german whos playing on Moogle (Inofficial Frenchie Server) with an English client who has studied Japanese xD
Im using all languages for DF anyways, because i honestly don't care who i get grouped with - haven't had a bad run due to language barriers since month :x
I have to say it really hasn't changed for me so far. Yeah, my ping has gone down from ~100ms to ~20ms, and I do notice things are responding faster and smoother.... But it doesn't really make things easier to play.
For example, I usually "start" casting my next spell within the last 0.5 seconds of my current casting. That hasn't changed after the server move, and even if it did it wouldn't make any difference. And sure, I can stay "longer" in AOE's without getting hit, but I have the mindset to always move away asap when possible, even if I have plenty of time. And more small things like that.
Then again, I don't play a DPS. I can imagine this making a huge difference for them with their tight and fast rotations.
I noticed it on bard straight away. I can repelling shot and then start casting and not getting interrupted half a second later. I can move and stop and cast without getting interrupted etc... It just feels sooo much smoother.
The difference is huge. Our raid were stuck at A3S Add phase now for a couple of weeks. First try with the new servers we passed it. We passed the add phase a couple of times in a row at that night. European players had a huge handicap for 2 years. Finally it's gone. Thank you SE :)
Already asked this before but I want a definite confirmation as I don't want to lose my gil.
Is it actually possible to mail my gil in stacks of 1mil each to a friend, have him transfer whilst they are still in his mailbox, and then open them and send me back my gil when we finally move? I don't want to go through that just to find out that gil doesn't come with the mail or whatever...
I know I could just buy things on market and then sell them but I'd rather make sure I have the same amount of gil than risk losing out. I dunno why they don't just make an exception for gil limits now that there are actual European servers for people.
Servers move ~1,000km geographically closer to me. Square pick a backbone that adds 150ms.
Have a FC, estate, airships, and tonnes of friends on my server, so moving to another isn't an option. Main is a tank, and tanking on 400ms isn't pretty. Guess that's the end of me and XIV.
When I first logged in, I didn't notice too much of a difference. Doing roulettes on sub 60 DPS, it seemed fine. Then I went for healing a typical high roulette speed run (snowcloak) and doing my hunts.. Ok yeah, noticeable difference, and cemented my idea of transferring.
Due to the warning that it could take a few hours if busy, I did all dailies first and submitted the transfer right before I went to bed. Turns out it was done in less than a minute, so I suffered for nothing. :(
I saw posts claiming it worked, but when I went to initiate the transfer, it warned me I was over the gil limit. I logged back in and bought items just to be safe.
Not really, to me it seems to be as smooth as before, mostly because I usually (de)activate Cleric Stance within the last .5 second of the current casting. And cast the spell you want to cast after CS right at the 0.0 mark of the current cast, and it'll cast right after it switches to/from CS.
I guess the time between each of these casts might be smaller, but I haven't noticed that so far. I may have to test that to see if there is any noticeable or helpful change in this.
The main thing for dpsing is the amount of abilities you can weave in between two GCD. Before you practically only could use one between now you easily can do two. For NIN the Mudra delay is nearly gone completely for me, can easily do two-sign ninjutsu without loosing time and three-sign ninjutsu with only loosing max half a sec. For BLM it has changed way more, maybe because its my main but, the Delay until you can use Fire / Blizzard IV after you changed into Astral Fire / Umbral Ice is now down to max 0.1 sec after finishing the Fire III / Blizzard III cast. Before it was ~1 sec and your AF/UI timer was already down to close 8 seconds until you could start casting Fire IV - now you can spend that second to actually cast already which should increase dps quite a bit ^o^
So can i claim my free server transfer yet?
