Leave it, SE is making this game only for few month, they dont plan to last for years. That is why they want all ppl get to 50 fast and finish little end game stuff and then every one left . Im glad i decide to leave game be4 that. Screw the dev
If you are referring to me among them, I never misquoted you I merely liken what you and your folks did to real life analogues. For my experience, it is never effective to create an example to prove a point when the point causes damage. The techniques you outlined are now explicit and can be searched and used by anyone, where before they may have only been implicitly known by a few which would have helped keep the process isolated. You may have very well shined enough light on this by creating your own example, and you may well have a good point that powerleveling needs adjusting, but the extreme nature of the example may bring an extreme response which may not be warranted for the reality of the situation.
The idea of getting a job quickly ranked up in 1 week is really appealing. That would've been a nice way to get some "Subjobs" level'd for some skills. But even if SE implemented this System and gave their OK.. in my eyes it's just wrong ><;
I dunno if SE wants to push a lot of ppl to R50 so they can develop their content around these ranks and ignore low lvl stuff.. or.. making the SPing overall easier. Well now it is.. easier...
I hope they'll have a look onto that "problem" soon. They just need a better system which works for everyone.
I'm playing MMORPG's for fun and interesting character development. At the moment we don't have such development. We getting our Skills per Auto-Ding. Stats are still somewhat screwed (I know these will change with 1.20 or 1.21)... Moar Skills from Quests/Missions pwease ;;
Oh and of course.. the R1-50 in 1 week or less :P
Imagine playing FF8 and having all those G.F.'s from start! (swoooooosh!)
Stop replying to these threads. We already know that they're probably going to nerf the exp gain by 1.19a. Seriously, these threads are dumb.
how is a thread that brings up a serious issue dumb? By letting everyone level so easy they are essentially ruining this games future since new players will come into a game where its hard to level, and where everyone else has all jobs at 50. They won't get into good endgame shells and they will quit.
Its like every patch SE screws something serious up and hurts this games future.
This is such an extreme example that it doesn't warrant any serious consideration.
I consider myself a slightly above average game, and when all things are said and done I have about 20 hours a week to dedicate to gaming.
So assuming that the average player had a PL on instant and beckoned call, they could probably do this in a week. No one in their right mind is going to sit at a computer for 19 hours -- only those who would have found a way to abuse any other system they implimented.
So what if the average player can do in a few weeks what you all did in 19 straight hours?
There's still crafts, materia, DoLs, catalyst farming, gear farming and that's not even touching the actual content.
But for every group like you, there's a group out there who doesn't PL so they can do things like Toto-Rak at minimum level. That way they can say they won largely on skill alone. You all made the choice to power level, a lot of us have chosen to use this new system to enhance traditional play methods.
At the end of the day, you reap what you sow. And I have a feeling those of us who are "idiotic" and practice a little self restraint will have a richer experience then those who rush to say "zomg first k wut next?"
lol maybe i should go back to the game so i can get all of my dow/dom to 50 in a month.
nobody will powerlevel me so this is all BS
That makes no logical sense. If the OP is enjoying the fruits of it, they shouldn't be criticizing it for being able to happen. If they feel it shouldn't happen, they shouldn't do it - period.
It's like the 'attack through the door' bug in DH. The whole 'you'd be a fool not to take advantage' argument is pure bullshit and always has been; it's just a way for people to try and justify their desire to essentially cheat.
Can't have it both ways - if the current system is broke, and you know you're exploiting it in bad ways, you should stop immediately, or at the very least, don't complain about how SE allowed you to cheat...
Hmmm....Crafting exp skill chains would be quite nice :)
The people that are crying about this the most already have all jobs at lv50 and are jelly that one guys gets his lv50 in a week vs. the three weeks it took when leves were broken..
Besides, when lv capp is raised and ppl have 100k-200k between lvls you will be begging for that extra exp.
System is fine, Yoshi dont listen to them, keep it real. Dont listen to the FFXI housewives.
No, he hasn't, and he most certainly didn't use it to get his own 50s.

A bunch of people in our ls just found a camp or two that gives easy exp chains, now we take it in turns to pl eachother in one hour slots.
I need to make some friends or I'll never hit 20.
i just rolled a new character on a new server to try out 1.19 and thought i was making pretty good progress, then i read the forums and i see that this kind of stuff is happening.
i'm not leaving ffxiv now because of the lack of content, i haven't even been playing long enough to notice a lack of goals to achieve, i'm leaving because of the same reason that i left ffxi after abyssea was introduced, the way you level now is you have your friends who are already leveled up level you up.
after reading through the thread i noticed a few things that i thought were wrong...
a few people have been saying that the its not okay to help level up new players because they 'have to learn the game', yet its alright to level up experienced players; i don't agree with this notion.
if there are only new players leveling up together they wont have anyone to teach them how to play, not to mention that there probably wont be anyone to play with if only new players were available to play with - there wont be a sufficient player-base trying to level up to form parties with if most of the population is getting power leveled while the other part is hopelessly stuck trying to fiddle through the game, i'm picture something akin to the blind leading the blind.
people were also claiming things like "its not hurting you, why do you care what others do?", but i disagree with that notion as well
if the game requires a party of eight players to be at their most efficient and 4 of every 8 players, instead of joining a party, get power leveled, than its likely that there will be either half as many legitimate parties or parties forming which are only half as effective as they should be, both effect my ability to play the game in legitimate parties.
Greetings everyone!
