When the hell did people start caring about lighting? So sick of seeing these threads.
Titor don't you have like 3 houses? How can you comment on exclusivity when you're perpetuating the idea.
Sometimes you just have to face the music that you can't have and control everything in the game. Just get over the fact that you don't have it and move onto some other hopeless fixation. Maybe go buy another house or something with all that free time you've got instead of whining on the forums.
It'd really just a short-term solution to make the event return because there'll always be people who missed it and they will want the event to make a comeback again.
The best solution is to add it to the cash shop or Gold Saucer
cash shop=not happening unless they remove the stats from the gear.
They have said multiple times no stats on any items in the cash shop ever. I personally would like to see them to stick to that stance.
Golden Saucer=I still think a good idea would be to add mock up versions of the FATEs as GATEs so people can earn the gear. it wouldn't be difficult to add NPCs that let you get the gear while the GATE is up.
They should add these types of event items to the Gold Saucer vendor.
Which wouldn't really be that difficult to do ^^; They've added copies of gear to Mogstation before (old Xmas outfit, made untradeable to prevent people from selling them on to others), so it's not unprecedented.
But I agree that it would be suitable for Gold Saucer; considering how eager that reporter seemed to be during the event, it wouldn't be too out of the blue to have them go "well, we (read Manderville family) managed to borrow/buy them off an adventurer, and made replicas so we can make loads of money and draw even more people to our casino. win/win for us" ^_~
You missed it. Too bad.
My memory is a bit foggy regarding the event, but was it not simply a series of FATES in progressively higher level zones, which spawned every hour or so? No need to go DO aforementioned FATEs if you did not want to. Although I have no idea why anyone would complain about a novel FATE in an area.
And the resulting gear had better stats than even some HQ level gear in that level range.
As someone who missed the event, and really wants the arcanist weapon from it, I still say no to the idea of bringing it back. I missed the event. I didn't start playing the game until after it had come and gone. As much as I want the rewards from it, they should be exclusive to the people who have been playing the game since then, and put in the time to get them. In a way it's like the Veteran Rewards, except that it's specific to the character(s) you completed it with, and requires you to actually be playing the game instead of just subscribed. Let it be exclusive to the people who have been fans of XIV for that long....
I could be wrong as the last event was a year ago now, but I seem to recall there being a few complaints during the third run that had to do with the event fates overlapping or disrupting the fates players were using to grind relics on... Something about the needed fate never popping it always being the lightning one instead... If I'm remembering right, long term memory so could be off a bit.
i could be mistaken but i thought the event only happened twice...once when lightning returns came out and again at the anniversary events chain they had? i agree they should consider doing it again or making those items a mogstore thing but what they should do is add the outfits and weapons from the second and third games too not just the first game who wouldn't want to have the knight of etro armor or now that heavensward is out maybe add caius ballad's chaos sword for dark nights and so on. hell i'd be curious to see how the savior outfit and weapons look on paladin.
I don't really care to have it or not, now. Maybe I will not even buy it on the mog station. Maybe I will. I'm fine with my actual glamour anyway.
The only items that shouldn't be in mog station is legacy rewards. Ligthning returns fate has no connection with legacy players and some old events items are already in sale. I guess it will be the same for this event, then.
That's why, if these stuffs are in mog station, it's fine. I just don't understand why players are so mad that other player want it. It's ridiculous.
I don't think raiders complain so much when raids was nerfed/echoed and players get dreadwyrm glamour stuff thanks to echo/desynch.
Old stuff is old, why care if it comes back in any way.
I hope everything will be on sale, I wanna see all the whine then, it's entertaining.
I have one personal house and one which is for my FC. If you would bother to read my post history, you would see that I am an avid supporter for new wards to be opened up, and have even said in the past that if SE decided to make a decision to force relinquish all current personal houses (not just removing inactive housing, but ALL personal housing) and move them into a private instanced system I would not mind giving up my personal house for fairness. Should you bother do to your research, you will also find I am also an avid supporter of opening up personal house sharing with more friends (which SE seemed to take note of and do!) so that more individuals will be able to enjoy the housing system, and plan on sharing my ONE personal house with my friends that do not have a house.
Thank you for turning an argument of fairness into a personal attack though, even a very misinformed and ignorant one.
I also have the lightning event items and am hoping to allow others to have it as well. I am supporting new players having it. I do not need it myself, so good job being misinformed there as well.
I'm not sure about it bugging relic FATEs, but I do know there was also another annoying bug that occurred during the FFXIII event's final run - for the first stage of the event if you had the daily Hunt active that required the FATE 'Tender Buttons' to be completed (which was also one of the two possible FATEs Lightning could appear in for that event), if Lightning showed up it the bug prevented the player from getting credit on the Hunt bill for completing it, effectively making that daily Hunt bill unable to be completed.
There were dozens of bug reports logged with SE but SE never did anything about it because the event was ending shortly anyway, and as the event has never returned since, it's quite telling of perhaps the real reasons why SE hasn't brought it back.
I agree...at least put the stuff in the mogstation, I would buy it in no time.
Sure, bring it back. But not only to satisfy the players who missed it, but SE should satisfy the players who already finished this event by adding new costumes, weapons and hairstyles too. That should fix the argument, I think. Maybe change some content of the quests as well would be nice.
I hope everyone who wants this stuff actually bought all 3 Lightning Games :P
<3
I own them all on PS3 and PC (Still waiting for the release for XIII-3). I need Serah's hair and her XIII outfit. SE should just give them to me already. Also throw in Lightning's XIII-2 outfit and SE will be swimming in gil!
I would totally want them to add all of Light's garbs ....
L'ange Noir is divine <3
I hated XIII so I couldn't care less about Lightning or Snow or anything else relating to that series of FF games so, therefore I couldn't care less whether or not this event or the items make a comeback. That said, I do find this staunch opposition to bringing those things back kiiiiiiinda unsettling. I mean...I get that people wanna feel special or whatever, but...wow. It's a bunch of dumb cosmetics most players don't even care about so why not just give the few that do a chance to get it so, at the very least, we can stop all these threads.
As someone who already has already done the event and got the items and hairstyles, I say let people have a chance to get them, whether that means bringing the event back and/or putting them on the Mogstation. This whole exclusivity thing is silly, you silly-willies. XD
(The Lightning hair is ugly, though, just to warn you all. So, so ugly.)
Surprised people are still responding to this thread.
o.O;;
Nah, it should not come back. There was exclusive 1.0 content and items. There should be some exclusive 2.0 content and items.
