I think even though I am disappointed about only 1 new dungeon and one HM we did get a lot of content again for 3.1.
1. New looks to be badass dungeon in the Arboretum (cannot wait to try that out).
2. Pharos rework could be good if they do it right and make the bosses interesting.
3. The Airship exploration could be very good or very bad...some are saying it seems to by like Dynamis...but I have never experienced that so I hope this version is really good.
4. The minion battles looks lame to me and a waste of development time...more crap that no one will ever do and we could have had something better.
5. The new 24 main RAID everyone like to crap on those but I still find the casual raid at least fun and interesting and another way to level our other jobs without having to wait for Esos and such.
6. The other new Gold Saucer stuff is just Meh...probably try some and do the challenge log to get max GSP and that is it.
All in all good patch.
I'm all for less dungeons if it means we get more variety of content and other ways to obtain tomes. SO sick of roulette as the ONLY OPTION for them D:
I personally do only adding 2 new dungeons, what I'm really concerned about is EX roulette. They better just add these 2 new ones to expert, and not make fractal and neverreap high level. It really sucks only having 2 options.
Honestly, I'm not all impressed at the dungeon, though my GF will geek out at any and all of the lore that will show up there.
I'm actually more interested in the Pharos rework than the new dungeon. The modifications look interesting. But dungeons are dungeons, both will boil down to what fight mechanics are there and if it flows well.Quote:

I'm thinking this is closer to Sky than it is Dynamis, but if it is related to endgame, this will be the expanded endgame people will be wanting. If not, it will be a fun diversion. Saying it calls back to Older MMOs will be a plus in many people's eyes.Quote:

I'm more than happy about this than I am about most other content, to be honest. Fun diversions that have their own little world attached to them. This was created at the massively positive reaction from the community, so let's see how it goes.Quote:

And, as much as people belittle it, there's always glamours to consider. Gear that appeals to people better than the Eso or Gordian gear in terms of looks will always be worth the dive in.Quote:

It looks like there are some good adjustments and quality of life additions for the game as well. All and, my sensibilities may differ from yours, but I agree we had a pretty darn good patch. Again, SE releases more content quicker than most other competitors.Quote:

Yeah #4 started as a joke right Hyrist?
What about this joke? Think it will happen?

there was some mention of arboretum, in some leve quest, i think. nice-looking place.
it will probably have arboretum vultures, arboretum bees, arboretum cactuars, arboretum morbols, arboretum peistes, arboretum all the things \o/
the only things that wont have an arboretum-prefix, will be the bosses, and they will be very arboretum anyway...or just copy-paisted caduceus.
arboretum coeurls.
the fact that they keep feeding this game content after content on a consistent bases is beyond awesome! <3
Well PS before nerf was hard so they had to tune it down and all these people talking about overgearing it won't help coz you all should know by now that SE always puts lvl sync to some dungeons that are being abused causing a server strain with DF. Its good that there's only 1 new dungeon and a dungeon exension (PS HM) that they are introducing. Sooner or later Neverreap and Fractal will have their own HM versions; so this is really not that new. Its progress and setting limits so people dont get eso gear too quickly then be bored and complain coz X reason.
Eventually they will, it would be nice to have a random roll out of 4 dungeons. If Fractal & Nevereap will be set in another category, and we are left out with the new two dungeons as expert...
I think the 'Daily Expert Roulette' should be renamed to 'Daily Expert Coinflip'
Ha. Fair criticism, finally.
To be fair, I feel as if they should keep all dungeons in the same ilvl cycle to be in the "Expert" roulette. So, in this case. "Expert Roulette" should be Fratal, Neverreap, and the two new ones. Rather than cycling those two down so early. That would easily make up for the lack of another Hard mode this patch. I always felt that the dungeons fell out of fashion too fast.
The (Hard) moniker is comparative to its previous iteration, not comparative to your skill or ilvl. Thought that was obvious.
Still would be nice if the new dungeons require players to think, though... but sadly, I expect the usual "tank and spank, ignore mechanics" dance (especially if SE decide to allow people to buy those book things that drop from Alexander Savage via Hunt currency).
Thinking=time wasted. People will only run something that is fast as possible to get tomes quicky.
"Think on their feet" is what I implied. Angry Mayo and FHDragon from WoD required players to think "quick" whenever they saw certain abilities being cast. Mortal Gaze, Double Vision, Level ? Tethers for Angry Mayo and the many attacks from FHD (purple marker being THE "think fast" ability, as I'm sure a lot of people thought to run away, rather than group up).
I also hope that they just add the 2 new dungeons to the expert roulette. Really, the terminology chosen is getting in the way. They just need a category for L60 dungeons, another for L50-59 dungeons and a third for < 50 and have them all give XP (useless for the L60 i know but this way it is future proof and ready for the next raise in level cap).
There is nothing "expert" about expert dungeons.
