Same. Well, not exactly the same, I thought "Oh nooooo dude died" without the sarcasm, although I can't say I was particularly cut up about it.
But yeah, how sad my character looked during the death and during the few CS after was actually pretty sad.

I was heartbroken when Haucherfant died. But I lost it when Ysayle died. I really liked her as a character. She transforming mid air was cool though. Wish circumstances were different.

is it me or FFXIV is becoming like a game of thrones, and you can't be heavily invested in these characters no more.

I admit, I got a little choked up when Haurchefant invoked the ultimate bro code. But I couldn't keep my composure once Daddy Fortemps broke down after.

I didn't react even a bit. I was emotionless and continue on my my way. Only time I reacted when I learned the truth behind Y'sholta's eyes.

Q_Q When Haurchefant died.... >.> Even had a dream about him... So, sad. And I have a feeling the feels are going to keep coming.

I didn't cry at all, but I'd be lying if I said Haurchefant's death didn't affect me (that was a *very* low blow).
Ysayle's death, less so; still a bit sad, though...

Maybe it's the bad voice acting or OTT gestures but I don't feel much for the characters.

I have all mine in Japanese voice acting so it felt more like a anime. So of course I was connected to all those who died and yes I teared up. But the dragoon had it coming to at the end, I called that the moment he took the 1st eye. XD

I don't cry with most things, and this was no different, but I knew certain things would hit me hard and I would swear bloody vengeance. I'm still not over the end of The Vault, and probably won't ever be. :< It was especially hard when:

Seeing Edmondt break down and talking to people that worked with Haurchefant in Camp Dragonhead.

I felt like a total failure right at those moments.

Given Haurche's popularity we MAY not be done with him yet. He's dead for sure but just when that wound starts to heal, SE will open it again with

A)we've learned Ascians can possess a non-living body

or

B)Dude's left behind a big, dumb family in mourning and we haven't seen Unicorn or Ixion yet. Unicorn happens to be from VI, too (same as some classic eidolons as well as Ramuh, Bismarck and the Warring Triad)

didn't cried but yeah, feels, also want revenge on them all, I hope now that all classes have LB3 or buffed spells for the healers that our characters to actually ACT in a cutscene other than just drawing their weapons and frigging LB3 their arses in full CS camera cinematic display

Wished my BLM to cast a freaking LB3 meteor on their heads instead of just running.

Haurchefant and as cliche (thus expected) as it was to hear, Estinien's short farewell to Ysayle. No tears or anything, but definitely a moment of "Oh these ****ers are dead! You hear me?! DEAD!"

The sidequest with the young dragon and his injured brother. And that other sidequest where you help the knights of the Convictory kill and bait progressively bigger dragons. Those two quest chains in particular just really made me feel the hopelessness of all this war.

For most of the other plot points brought up in this thread, I was far more murderous than sad.

Once upon a time i used to read 1-3 books every month just to pass the time. Reading books you are merely an observer.

FFXIV: MSQ is better than reading books. You are the story, you take part in the pleasures and pain with the friends you make along the way.

On a personal note i find myself hesitating and restless when the well being of chocobos is in jeopardy. I've refused to complete a dragon questline simply because the little brat wants to expand his taste pallet. Yeap. I read every word.

Cool thread. Here were mine:

1. Haurchefant.
2. Count Edmont's grief.
3. Y'shtola's rebirth -- a little bit during both the moment and the recovery conversation.
+ Plus I think I said aloud "OH MY GOD" at the appearance of the new Garlean juggernaut, or Haurchefant's death, or something else. Special nod to all the moments where I felt really, really angry, like just unleashing fury upon the Ascians and Heaven's Ward at the end.

I also felt really, really sad upon hearing the story of Ratatoskr and seeing Tiamat withering away in her binds.

I did it in my mad rush to fly.

Turns out he hates cooked meat. A waste of kfc. :)

The drk quest made me want to analyze every last scene in it.

Maybe its because I was playing a female character, but the journal and the last lines when you complete the quest really hit home how far gone you were. And there was a really good job in conveying "what was going on."
