A Broom references the Simpsons twice as well as South park.
Specifically:
The Broom in Matoyas room references the Simpsons twice in one sentence.
Join the Navy Episode and Mr Sparkle Episode as well as 'Let's fighting love' and 'Yeah! Win!' (WoW episode) from Southpark.
"It's not a bug, it's a creature" - a reference to the early days of Firefox, when Mozilla tried to pass off the browser's memory leak as something intended.
Nope, ED-209 from Robocop is short for Enforcement Droid 209 http://robocop.wikia.com/wiki/Enforc...oid_Series_209, so the Enforcement Droid 210 in Aetherochemical Research Facility is definitely a Robocop reference; they even kinda look alike.
The Armorer 55 quest have references to the movie Barbarella.
Warmech

Look familiar?
Oh, I found a good one...
Go to The Dravanian Forelands (32,24) and listen to the NPCs chatting.
He's actually right in some ways. while what he says is not so much a "Reference" as it is a reusing of an asset from an earlier game (FFXIV does this a lot, most enemies in XIV come from some other FF title, which I'm not complaining its nice.). Its clearly homage/reference to both!
Well in his defense he said "Its also a reference to FF1", not that It was not a reference to Robocop as well.
The more I play, the more I see how much Azys Lla is a reference to FF1's flying fortress. It has references to many FF floating islands, of course, but the FF1 references are coolest to me.
Both technologically-based flying fortresses from ancient civilizations? check.
Both have Tiamat? Check.
Both have Warmech type enemies? Check.
Both the only place in the game to get Adamantite? Check!
Pico de Gallows - Pico de Gallo (mexican combination of vegetables for tacos and other stuff, and the other definition is chicken peak) took me a while to understand it until i don't know why i read it in spanish.
Star Wars reference. I forgot the area..but it's an old and a young NPC and the young one is like "What do you mean "there is no try"?". Maybe I'm just over thinking it though.
I'm pretty sure this has been said, but too lazy to read all the posts.
DRK skill Living Dead, when you reach 0hp it turns into Walking Dead.
Cid pulls a Jean Luc Picard reference from Star Trek TNG when he lifts off in his Enterprise Excelsior and says "Engage!"
I was giggling with nerd joy.
I found a reference in a Guildleve for Goldsmithing (Level 52).
Its called "High Above Me, She Sews Lovely", a reference to "Tal Bachman - She's So High", the lyrics specificlly "She's so high above me, she's so lovely".
which could still be a reference to Fantasia from Disney since the original was made in 1940. we wont know for sure unless the makers of the first FF come forth and confirm or deny it.
fairly sure this was a Star Trek reference since in STIII the Excelsior Class was meant to be the successor to the Enterprise Class(Constitution refit).
"Dreams of War, Dreams of Liars, Dreams of Dragon Fire" is the name of a Miner leve in The Churning Mists. It's also a line of lyrics from Metallica's Enter Sandman.
I don't know if anyone mentioned it yet but the Level 58 Levequest Dance, Magic Dance is a line from the song "Magic Dance" by David Bowie from the film Labyrinth.
Its a bit strange since in the film early scripts had Jareth revealed as a goblin using magic to appear human at the end. While the quest has you looking for a witch using magic to be disguised as a goblin.
I can tell we have a lot of youngin's among us.
I can guarantee that over half the references you THINK are from GoT are not. GoT is incredibly cliche, to be frank. Mr. Martin is, unfortunately, not very creative when it comes to tropes. What he IS good at is turning tropes on their head and doing things you wouldn't expect.
GoT is becoming the WoW of the fantasy genre, unfortunately. Everyone is beginning to credit GoT for things that were done long before it existed, much like WoW is credited for things that existed in EQ and Ultima long before it.
If films are part of pop culture, then Heavensward gives a nod to Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli's film "Castle in the Sky" for inspiration:
A beam of light pointing to the 'island in the sky' Laputa (or Azys Lia)

I particularly enjoyed seeing this, being a fan of the Studio Ghibli films!
Don't know if it was mentioned but there are some leves I found
Rose never lets go - Could be a titanic movie reference
Forging Lance Base - Could be a play on a boy band members name
The level 50 Weaver Quest is called the Social Knitwork - Could be a play on the social network movie
