There are pieces of gear in the game already that change depending on the race/gender equipping them. I'm fairly positive SE would desexualize many of these pieces. Perhaps the gold saucer outfit on a child would more closely resemble some sort of bunny Halloween costume than a Play Boy bunny.

I know plenty of people want to play older characters, as well as younger characters.

I'd play as a kid if the option was there. While their mannerisms/outfits were oversexualized, I thought that Elins were really cute in Tera (being a small girl and fighting with a gigantic lance/shield was charming), and I liked the option of making my character younger in games like Mobinogi. The idea of a kid fighting evil and saving the world has been appealing to me since I was little, I'd totally make some child alts.

Maybe there could be a relationship system somewhat like Ragnarok Online used to have where two eternally bonded characters could have/adopt a child character.

Here's what I think SE should do:
-Add more facial features like larger eyes, rounder jawlines, bigger ears for Miqo'te, smaller horns for Au'Ra, etc., so players can have a more youthful/baby-faced look without being actual children. More character customization is always a plus and I'm surprise SE hasn't add more facial features since launch.
-Add a more youthful looking race. Heal showed a good example with that Viera concept art. So long as they don't get a hyper-sexualized and/or deformed as the Elin in Tera Online...Because that's creepy.

I think this would be a good middle ground. Add some younger and older looking facial features and the options for slightly more youthful and older "builds". Not necessarily children, or elderly, but a little younger and older than what we have.

I would also probably change my race to that Viera-esque race if they ever implemented it. Those are really cute and classy looking.

More age variety among PCs and NPCs would be really cool to see, I think.

I don't necessarily agree with the "You can't have children in violent situations" argument.. As the Shonen genre is based upon younger/teen characters generally doing a lot of action orientated things. The actual issue chances are people are going to get creepy with child characters and it's going to attract a very bad sort of crowd, the same sort of crowd that's kinda caused a lot of awful stuff to come out of the anime industry and influences the devs of TERA make a lot of outfits for the Elin. By the way, everyone talking about how folks in fantasies with pseudo-medieval times themes (And actual medieval time periods) married young girls aren't helping the whole "Let's add them, only creeps and weirdos would sexualize them!" deal >.>

You can't actually be serious? What a poor argument.

A gun fanatic can't shoot you through your computer screen. An up-and-coming arsonist can't set fire to your house through the internet. A pedophile could dress said character in provocative clothing, or simply walk around in nothing but underwear.
