FFXIV All Stars Idea!!

Voice acting doesn't matter to me.

If anything I would like the English version more because the friend of Akira, is the voice actor of Vash the Stampede, Ichigo, Nero from DMC4.

Yeah, Akira definitely had a couple creepy scenes.

Akira:

Akira was the first anime to feature lip sync movement. Most anime will not have a character talking whilst their head is moving due to how difficult it is to sychronise their head movement with their mouth movement, it requires the artists to draw a lot more frames of animation which increases production time and cost. Since Akira was made in the 80's, at the time, it was revolutionary.

The Akira movie was based on a manga of the same name, which was and stil is one of the longest mangas in history, it was 2182 pages long and had an enormous story to it. The movie really doesn't do it justice in just 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Akira was one of the first anime movies to be shown on English speaking cinema, being shown on screens across America and other countries. It was a global box office success making millions and helped promote anime to countries across the world. Without Akira, we probably wouldn't have access to the anime material we do now, and shows like Naruto, Bleach and others would not be on our T.Vs.

So, fair enough you may not like Akira, everyone is different with their preferences, but one thing I would ask is that you at least appreciate it for what it is, one of the greatest animes of all time. :)

Have you read the original comic? I'll have to pick up a copy for myself sometime.

Also, first anime I ever saw was New Dominion Tank Police when I was but a wie nipper. It instantly caught my attention because I was skimming channels and caught it mid-episode, since I was addicted to cartoons and I was very young I became very interested in it the moment Bonaparte tumbled down the elevator shaft whilst Leona and Al screamed "OH SHIIIIIIT!". Before that point I had never imagined a cartoon could contain swear words, thus, I was very interested to see more (b'.')b

The next time I encountered it was when I went to my nans, and my uncle, who hadn't moved out yet, was watching Hellsing on his T.V. (I discovered it was Hellsing maaaaaany years later when watching it myself, my memory is that vivid sometimes I can remember something like that :P) I didn't get to see much of it because he turned it off a few mionutes later so I could play Sonic 1 on his mega drive.

The next encounter with it was again still when I was quite young, me and my dad had stopped up late to watch The Great Escape, and after iot went off he started flicking through channels. when he switched to channel 4 there was an anime on that showed a naked girl with pink hair that was stuck to some pinkish slimy wall. I'm pretty sure it wasn't a hentai though. My dad switched channels almost instantly so I didn't see enough to be able to identify what it could have been as I haven't seen any anime with that scene since.

Since then I was always wondering where I could find shops that sold anime, but had to resort to playing anime games instead. Eventually when I found forbidden planet, a shop commonly found in most U.K towns and cities, my anime interest really started to kick in, since then it has simply escalated to a full-blown obsession, which is where I am today.

From the title, I figured this would be one of those threads that go something like:

"oh my god, hold the press, this is the best idea ever... imagine if, like, we could bring back Cloud and Sephiroth to make guest appearances in the game?! Wouldn't that be just swell! It would go over a treat and save FFXIV forever!"

Little did I know this thread was actually about forum-goers. Anyway, flattered as I am, I seriously don't think I'm as much of drama-queen as everyone says so might not be as thrilling as you all imagined.

Actually Elfen Lied doesn't go that way at all, there is nudity in the series but usually it's only for brief moments and not used at all for sexual content. The things those phantoms hands DO do however is increase the sheer brutality featured in the anime. At one point she uses it to break the arms and legs of a soldier then gouges his eyes out, at another point she holds another girl with the same powers above her and rips both her arms and legs off then leaves her on the floor to bleed to death. The level of violence in it is quite amazing given that it's only rated 15.

I've missed out on almost all Anime and Comics except Pokemon in the past 10 years. I can't find a comic store within 75 miles of hear, Well i have found some. But all they sell are stuff like superman at like 30 bucks an issue. I...HATE...LIVING IN ILLINOIS. >:O

That little girls dies in the most sad and horrible way at the end. Sure she was twisted, disturbed, warped and kind of evil, but the way she died was so unfair it took me a while to stop crying.

I wish Elfen Lied could have had a happy ending after all the suffering they all went through :(

i watch anime on netflix and hulu, but i'm starting to run out of shows >.>

Jinrya your first photo is well you know, second is much better but the one thing that would make it look a lot better is figure out how to make your 2D drawings not look so 2D. It makes them appears stiff, it is a problem I have as well so I recognize the error. It is one of the reasons I don't draw much plus my drawings only look good about 25% of the time and I have to be drawing something while looking at it. I got a great imagination I just have a really hard animating it and putting it on paper. I will stick with words lol.

By the way I am currently watching Xam'd, catching up on some of my Netflix Anime. Actually if you like zombies a must see is High School of the Dead. It is zombie survival done by Japanese that delivers really well and has some Ecchi goodness in it.

Thankfully they just put faster internet lines through here. It's probably fast enough to watch hulu now.

The best way to accomplish a more 3D look when drawing is to adds slightly darker shading around the edges of part of the drawing, this will give it the impression that that part curves backwards.

Xam'd is pretty good. i kinda like Angel Beat too, although i kinda feel like the story isn't going anywhere since the 1st episode but i've only watched like 6......, Soul Eaters I FREAKING LOVE but am only watching while my friend is here (but im thinking of breaking that agreement.... shows before bros)

By those reports they did, if I can remember right, Ghost in the Shell is what really opened up anime to people.

This means when I go to my job interview I may be slightly sleepy, but at least I'll be happy and content (b'.')b

I hope you get the job, by the way what job are you applying for anyway? Roller-skate repair technician/ Boiler maker/ or an Anime critic?

Ghost In The Shell was the other anime that promoted anime to other countries.

I also like Ghost In The Shell, and that it can be abbreviated as G.I.T.S, a mild olde english insult (b'.')b

Haven't seen Inuyasha, and don't want to now.


Worst anime I've ever seen is .hack//Sign.

It's slow, boring, the characters are always miserable, the translation was poor, the conversations they have never make any sense, it often feels like you miss a large portion of the plot because it doesn't flow, it just jumps around, the animation quality wasn't all that good, often looking boring and flat and like they were coloured in using only light coloured pastel crayons, and most of the time a typical scene was just:

character teleports in > character has incoherent conversation with other character > character teleports out
:next scene:
character approaches other character > character has incoherent conversation with other character > character leaves
:next scene:
character sits around looking sad and talking to himself
:repeat all 3 scenes but with different conversations and characters till end of episode:

:Next episode:
:Repeat process:

Almost as dull as watching a whole episode of DBZ where all it is is Piccolo standing around going "grr" whilst asking himself how he's going to defeat the new enemy. <-- quite a common dragonball z episode

Warehouse Operative

Boring, but better than my last job which was: Scum that had to put up with the total lack of health and safety in the warehouse and that over-abusive boss would often shout at for no reason whatsoever just because she thought she was some kind of almighty god.

I wouldn't have minded as much, but it was the warehouse that sorted clothes for a charity shop.

Also, the job I'm going for is to work for Amazon, so the pay is good and I'll get a discount (b'.')b

It still wouldn't be as bad as the place I used to work. I'll give you a hint, it was my choice to leave that place because of how bad it was, they didn't fire me, and the reasons I gave to the jobcentre for leaving they saw as legitimate reasons and let me have Jobseekers allowance.

My reasons were: Mistreated by my employer and management staff, lack of health and safety throughout the warehouse causing me to be ill quite often, and an enviroment so stressfull I developed white hand syndrome from working there.

White Hand Syndrome is a condition a person can develop due to being in overly stressfull situations for prolonged periods of time. Eventually your brain can't handle it anymore and one/both of your hands shake and vibrate rapidly. The only way to stop the rapid hand shaking/vibrating is either - spend a day or two calming down and relaxing or take tranquilisers.

The boss that worked in that place had been sued multiple times for the way she treated people, by people who were fired from there for unnacceptable reasons. And somehow she has an O.B.E. How does someone like that get an O.B.E AND become in charge of a huge charity store to help children???

well, were i work is pretty bad. My mom is always sick because she is over worked. And my dad just doesn't care. That's why she left him. We work in a 100 degree warehouse, shipping urns. While my uncle gets to do nothing, He actually does NOTHING. he is supposed to finish 20-30 orders a week, he does 1-2 orders every week at best. But my dad doesn't want to fire him because he's his brother, I mean my mom has worked for 4 years at 40 hours a week and they won't make her full time but yet my uncle was full-time the minute he was hired.

I know what you mean by your hands shaking, but if you mention that near my boss he will fire you on the spot.(it's happened many times before) He believes that there is no such thing as Carpal tunnel syndrome and that you just want to take the company for a free ride.

Most of the employees just walk away. That's what I'm going to do when i move to Japan.
