I want to see the stupid jump thread off the main page. Really it's going to happen so just deal with it. If you do not like it just don't jump but i bet you will...
I WANT JUMP Please SE add it. Thank YOU :)
Sighs lets see.
1. Quests that requires help and I mean it, REQUIRES help from other players.
2. More instanced quests with harder bosses that sets a limit to party size, maybe lv cap too.
3. Changes to the landscape, the Copy paste is too visible, too much of it.
4. Class redesign
5. More areas
6. Some actual dungeons
7. Some actual need to party. I dont need to party, I can solo or duo on mobs and even with a duo still get 15-20k sp an hour, about the same as most 4-6 man parties on raptors. How I do this? Just gotta explore all options. Wanna argue with me on that? Look at my sig, and my lodestone since sig doesnt auto update. I want soloing/duoing to stay more viable then it was in FFXI, but not to the point id rather do that then an actual 4-8 man party.
8. Chocobos. Screw the Anima regen fixes, its fine, learn to plan and manage your anima. Chocobos would make this better anyway.
9. Harder NMs, and fixes to them. I shouldnt be able to 3 man dodore and goblin using my ridiculous amount of abilities I got to tank them with, and using the leash bug to reset their enrage timer. Nor should I be able to bring 8 50 archers and blow up any NM in under 10 mins. Under 7 mins if BRs go off perfectly each time.
10. Changes to the NM dropped gear and the Leve NM gear. Atm, only the Harlequinn is worth a damn, Templars set is a reskinned and slightly lower defense Cavalry/Vintage Haub set. Buccaneer set is only good for pug while one or two pieces good for archer, and even then, the hat sucks compared to the silver tricorne. The R50 Lance and Axe are crap compared to the next highest weapon if that weapon is +1ed, same with Sword.
1) Travel Options: I want more travel options in game. Get Chocobos in game finally, stop holding it as your *Trump* card. Get airships in already. Add in carriages that will drive you between all camps. Similar to the ferries, instead of 10 minutes make it 5 minutes.
2) Retainer Options: I love retainers. I want to see their usefulness beefed up even more.
3) Advanced Classes: Keep base classes as they are. I would like to see new advanced classes added that would require levels in one, two or even three jobs. For instance, you make a Paladin and require the player to have 30 Ranks as a Gladiator and 20 Ranks as a Conjurer.
4) More Customization: I want to see more character customization available. The amount of choices at character creation is pitiful, at best, especially for an MMO that released in 2010. More hairstyles, tattoos, paint, piercings, eye color, beards etc. ALLOW ALL RACES TO HAVE ALL HAIRSTYLES! Add in a stylist shop to change these things in game.
5) Mail System: I mean really? No mail system? This needs to be added into the next major content upgrade. Also allow a repair through mail system. AKA You send a player an item, if it is damaged the mail gets auto flagged as repair only. Now the player it was sent to checks their mail. And chooses to repair the item. Once it is repaired it auto returns to original sender who now has finished gear.
6) Company Towns: IMO best for first expansion. Add Company towns to each major region. My idea of company towns is something along the size of aleport. An instanced city for companies. Not too large, but big enough to fit crafting facilities, a common area, guild storage etc.
7) Player Housing: Accessible from all City-States, in many styles. I would love to see an instance area where you can customize a small plot of land with a single building on it. Customizing both inside and the outside yard area
8) Alliances: The ability for up to 3 or 4 Linkshells (or companies) to set up an alliance to work together. Allowing smaller linkshells to mostly operate independently, but give them an additional network of allies when needed.
9) DoL/DoH: More content for DoL/DoH, we have NM for DoW/M. Lets get some equivalents in game for the other two job systems.
10) Inventory Tweaks: Look, in most MMOs 100 inventory slots is complete overkill. In FFXIV its not enough. Please hear me out before you disagree with me. First thing is first, this game is designed with the expectation that players are going to level several classes. Merge abilities to customize their vision of whatever class they want to be. Its an excellent concept, but the inventory space atm does not support it.
Carrying the gear for several jobs is bad enough in the current state. Especially when you consider loot drops, also carrying consumables for battle, materials to repair your gear etc. Now add in the fact that we will be sometime in the future be getting ran requirements on gear. Now you are not able to use the same gear on three different ranked jobs because of this requirement. Now you need to start carrying a set of gear for your rank 20 marauder, a set of gear for your rank 40 archer, for your rank 50 fisher, your rank 30 botanist, your rank 20 carpenter, your rank 30 culinarian.... on top of all the main and offhand tools and additional items some classes need (Bait and Arrows).
The game was designed with a 'switch on the fly' mentality. You join a group with to many Marauders you swap to another job withing range. Now that becomes in jeopardy because of the cumbersome gear carrying. I see two simple fixes for this. The first and most simple is make anything EQUITABLE not take inventory space. Drastic but it works. The other and best imo is to add a new tab called GEAR. When you click on this GEAR tab it gives you a dropdown list of all your jobs an allows you to click on that job and individually equip gear for that job. All gear equipped would NOT take up inventory space. When swapping to that job, the gear would just be changed over to whatever you had set for that job.
Bonus Change
11) Murder the CONFIG Utility: I mean seriously its 2011 now. Why in the name of gaming advancement do we get stuck with an archaic config utility. Why is that even after muting INGAME sounds I am still stuck with ambient noises? Fix this, get rid of the configuration utility and merged all that into the FFXIV client. Join the current era of gaming SE, please.
Thinks it's almost time I finished up that that top 3 chart and make it into a top 10.
1. Customizable keyboard keys. (Can I use the freaking arrows to move the camera please?)
2. Mounts. (Not just chocobos, find a reason to get us to ride a wall climbing lizard, or a gliding beast to platform through areas that chocobos can't get through)
3. A better UI, that includes an easier to use chat box.
4. Class-Specific Armor Sets, that you get through elaborated quests.
5. Better quests, with CSs and fun fights.
6. More weapon types, like great swords, whips, crossbows and so on.
7. Mail system!
8. Unique NMs that require a strategy to beat. (think Charybdis, Kirin, Fafnir and so on)
9. New cities/areas with gear unique to those areas.
10. Better animations that includes emotes (If you look closely there are alot of poses that are almost identical through races, most prominent is /sit) maybe add ones that take more than one person. /handshake, battle actions (GLAs will understand) and better leveling up fanfare. (Check out TERA online's level up animation...)
I kinda cheated a little.
I actually want to have galka's tail back, also a none-paralyzed kitty tail.
They are not Galka, they dont have tails.
1. Bindable Keys, including with a gamepad
2. Actual PvP, not minigames. I'd prefer open-world Linkshell v. Linkshell depending on which LSs are "at war"
3. Only having one main LS whose shell is visible at all times and the rest be social LSs
4. True Camps with reasonable respawn timers
5. Unique classes with unique armor depending on style of play
6. Challenging monsters
7. A reason to collect gil
8. Inventory tabs that we can customize so everything isn't so jumbled
9. Chocobos, Airships, and nerf anima after those are added, ie only to cities/towns instead of every aetheryte in the game.
10. Force us to make a choice on character development that we can't change on the fly, I thought affinity was going to do that but it turned out to be the exact opposite. Maybe change affinity to make your main class more effective than the others capped at 100 like a lot of us thought it'd be? Axemanship should make my use of axes better... not swords, it doesn't make sense which explains the initial confusion around launch.
1) Linkshells, please fix it so leader can actually kick people if they are on or offline, add people no matter where they are in the world and can have more control over the LS.
2) Transportation, because while I enjoy exploring and running, I’d love to have more options than just running or using my anima. Chocobo’s, Airships, etc… yes please.
3) Mail system, my shell is very supportive and gets supplies for the crafters. It would be nice if they could just send it to me (or vice verse) so they don’t have to wait for me to get on and clog up their inventory.
4) Guild Marks on Leves, would love for them to actually put ON the leves for the crafters, which will and won’t give Guild Marks. The DoM, DoW and DoL classes can see if they will be getting guild marks on theirs, why do crafters have to play the ‘let’s waste time and hope for guild marks’ guessing game?
5) PvP, I actually enjoyed the way they did PvP in FFXI. How it was instanced and how people could choose to join or not. While I’m not a fan of open world PvP, I feel they had a nice balance in FFXI and would love to see them pull PVP into FFXIV in that type of manner. I know my shell always loved doing big PvP verses matches in FFXI.
6) Content, I would love to see more variety in quests, missions, leves. I would love to see more of these that require getting help from others and more that are more mission based and less go kill ‘X’ amount of these mobs.
7) Classes/Jobs, I would love them to add more jobs, even if it was classic FF jobs and either made them accessible or made them advanced jobs that you could open once you hit a specific rank.
8) Pet Classes, and yeah I know I said classes/job but this is PET CLASSES!! Please please please… they said they would come later because they would unbalance the classes if put in at start. Some of my favorite jobs in FFXI were BST and DRG, I even liked SMN and wish I had leveled it more. I would love to see pet classes make a comeback!
9) BCNM, others said something about this as well and I would love to see something like this in FFXIV.
10) Endgame-ish…, I would love to see things like the Promothia fights, NMs, Class fights, etc that can add more content and can lead to additional endgame content.
There are other things, but there are 10. :)
this would be my number one too !!Quote:
1. Customizable keyboard keys. (Can I use the freaking arrows to move the camera please?)
1: Transportation. Chocobos, airships, allow us to buy anima from NPCs.
2: Auto attack and weapon delay was perfect in FFXI. Please bring it back.
3: More content, PvE, quests with skill point rewards, main story.
4: Jump please.
5: A /search player feature and seeking party icons. /search comment.
6: Someone said barber shop! I think it would be awesome if we could change our hair color/style every once in a while. oh please please please~!<3 =^.^=
7: Mini NMs that drop rare/ex low level gear.
8: Faster crafting animations.
9: get rid of +1 +2 +3 items and only have + versions for gear, weapons, shields and food.
10: Please fix the targeting system. This last patch was a start.. maybe allow us to lock it on a target type?
I thought I already posted on something similar... couldn't find it.. so here I go again.. In no order.
1) Mail system
2) Linkshell storage system
3) Player Housing
4) Dungeons/Instances
5) Transportation
6) Better monster AI
7) More PC Friendly controls (ie hold right and left mouse button to move like just about every other MMO out there now)
8) More Zone Originality (we have alot of duplicate mobs in zones, some that make no sense being there)
9) Beastmen encampments
10) Villages
1) Revamped Class system with unique roles and the introduction of advanced classes/jobs
2) More zones - a variety of landscapes and smaller towns, towers, dungeons, beastmen strongholds, etc..
3) More Storylines and Bosses
4) Experience/Skill point overhaul - Too much experience is given for easy monsters.
5) Improvement of the Regimen system. <- I think this system has the potential to be very fun.
6) Behest is too easy. It should involve a somewhat difficult boss monster at the end.
7) Replacement of the physical point allocation system with class-based auto-assignment
8) Personal Spaces such as Mog Houses and Linkshell Halls
9) More accessible Final Fantasy elements in the game. (Cid, Avatars, Airships, etc)
10) Ability to make custom map markers.
Better Looking for Group (LFG) system! You can search for leaders, but not seekers. So many people would love to go hang out and do stuff while meeting new people, but there is currently no system for doing so. Let us throw up a LFG flag like FFXI ^_^/
1: For FFXIV NOT BE XI WITH BETTER GRAPHICS. We were promised a NEW Game please dont heed all the request to remake XI.
2: More players; 900-2k per server at any given time
3: Market ward search display quality of the item, whether the item is in a set (x99), Whether someone is selling/buying, and if the item needs repair.
4:Make the Guildleve secondary to Party Grinding (they will change the battle system so no need to mention it)
5: Make food effects visible and noticeably relevant.
6: Open up unique quest that each job can open after reaching 35 that allows that specific class to gain traits/abilities that focus that class into very unique role. Example Gla 35 can unlock a quest that specialize it to be either pld (sword& shield) or ninja ( two daggers or katanas); other would be a MRD 35 can unlock Drk (two-handed sword/scythe) or Pld (two-handed mace). Still lnc= drg/sam, pug=dnc/thf (nun chucks), conj=smn/brd (magical music instrument), thm=blu/rdm(mace), archer=bst/musketter. You get the idea. But I would like to see this as a much later expansion
7: More LS focus quest that give not just end game lore but mid-game loot too.
8: PvP so we can test our tactical skills, powers, and gears vs each other. Even have LS matches for titles that gives the Champion LS at the end of each month 15% reduction in all item sold by retainers and npc vendors.
9: More spell animations and death animations.
10: chocobo/airships
1. AH, intertwined with other countries, because there is everything uldah item, and Other Country almost no items for sale(my server)
2. Rent chocobo quest and quest for chocobo raising
3. Mog house whit more upgrades
4. Mail sistem
5. AF
6. customizable interface
7. classic job FF
8. street events, at some time in a specific location, a CS or mini event
9. New cities and areas
10. Customizable keyboard keys.
Bonus
11. Walker npc, always the same NPC in the same place, to walk, or fence at night to their homes, to make it look more alive the city.
again i agree ffxi was SE's money maker it had a big following of players that played for YEARS and still play now, so i dont really thinking using some of what made that game good is such a bad idea either.... if this game was more like that one then we wouldnt be talking about what needs to be added lol
1. Player housing
2. Chocobo mounts
3. Airships accessible to players
4. Removal of physical levels
5. Artifact armor
6. More story line quests
7. Stop withholding Ishgard
8. Market wards that don't crash everyday
9. Balancing of current classes
10. Implementation of new classes
Need more mage classes and a less restrictive attributes system to allow ease of change from melee to magic classes
1. More Classes
2. More Content
3. Faster leveling/skill Ups
4. Auction House
5. Mail System
6. Better looking outfits/weapons
7. Level required instances
8. Solo/Duo contents (because sometimes you can't find people and soloing is gimped)
9. Chocobo
10. Summoner with KoTR x Quad Materia!
lol I love how all the 10 suggestions result in basically wanting a FF11-2
BUMP! Keep posting ideas :D
All? No. I wouldn't say that. Most perhaps, but not all. There's a lot of new ideas people have brought up, and then there's a few things people disagree on.
This is the sort of thread Square Enix should've started so they could put together everything people want, then build more accurate player polls. I was very disappointed in the player polls they've posted so far, simply because they didn't give enough choices for answers.
Other needs:
11: gameplay for crafting/gathering
12: interesting field visual design
13: UI for controller users, the skill bar is horrible compared to XI menus also the equip screen layout+d-pad=guesswork navigation
14: Cutscenes during quests
15: Less timers in everything. Timers are by far the laziest way to add challenge to most games including XIV
16:MAR animations ALL look and feel the same
17:Take out teleportation system and design gameplay around travelling. Why would you copy/paste the same landscape 50 times over if you want us to be only in 5 spots on it?
18: New Uematsu tracks. There are only 3 main zones in this game do we really have to listen to the same tracks on those for years to come?
19: Jobs, scrap classes
20: Depth. Food, astronomy, birth dates, weather, time of day, facing directions during crafting, gathering materials, feng shui, minigames, fame system and so on. Where is the depth we've gotten used to during the past 11 FF games?
1. Mailbox
2. Customizable Residence
3. Auction House
4. My own Chocobo that I name, Airship
5. Interesting quests that sends me on an adventure worthy of stocking up on helpful food, potions, and friends.
6. Better variations in fight animations. More shock and awe. (I want to stop traveling with my pug to watch a caster light something up because he looks cool.)
7. Removal of physical levels.
8. Dangerous routes which needs to be traveled to gain access to rewarding areas/quests.
9. Improved food effects and descriptions of what they do.
10. FFXI-2 minus the things that the next few people complain about. (How could anyone ignore the good things about that game when creating a new mmo? I feel like I'm playing FFXI-2 created by someone without the rights to any of the original names/content.)
1. Removal of Weapon=Class system - I want to be able to use different weapons and it not change my class ; ;
2. Traditional Jobs - DRK, SAM, BLM, WHM and so on with there own stories and AF.
3. More function added to Wards - Allow me to set retainer to seek for items even if I do not have them. Allow there to be an item seek menu like the item search menu so I can see what retainers want and how much for. FInally add sort options to searches so I can filter by class, rank and so on.
4. Balance or removal of Physical level system.
5. Grind spots - Add more mobs of the same ranks closer together with faster respawns to allow for more viable grinding options.
6. SP/EXP Bonus Ring - {Yes Please} or make Guardians Aspect work outside of Guildleves for a set amount of SP 20k so it could be used for grinding too. Would also mean that 10 GA could be used for multiple leves as opposed to one which would be great if you were unlucky with a drop rate and the leve ended to fast, or even if you D/C then you wouldn't lose your GA.
7. Transport - Airships and Chocobos - I want to be able to customise my Chocobo with different armour and things like that.
8. Player housing - Maybe even LS housing so you could have a communal house to decorate and then have your own private room within.
9. Weapon skill/spell animations - This is supposed to be a next gen MMO, I realise this is an MMO so can't compare to a single player game but I still expected something more along the lines of this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-pzptgE4a4
but instead we got this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wodu_aYjSdU
Come on SE you can do better than that, in fact you already have.
10. Content - Lot's of content everything from NM's of all levels to a Campaign style system, more missions that have a great story and more items and gear.
1. content (quests and storyline quests)
2. mail system
3. transportation (choco's+airships)
4. Thief "Yes, Please!!!"
Not much here from me.
I'v already posted my 10 but just thought of another and idc that its from 11!@$*^~ level sync @_@ ahh /want
I can't believe this game came out 10 years after XI and not 20 years before except for the graphics. 10 Things Hmmm!!!
Copy XI.
Make everyone involved with designing XIV play XI and level 3 jobs to 85 (Mage, Battle, Pet), finish Zilart and COP.
Add content.
Make the graphics better.
Keep the mobs in XIV.
Get rid of that stupid "These mobs will attack you" symbol. Who's idea was that? Whats next purple dinosaurs?
Get rid of that larger name on distant mobs that shrinks as you get closer. It disrupts the beauty of the scenery.
The Linkshell shield is too large and should be shrunk to text size.
Anima is a joke. Maybe just allow free porting between nodes.
Add audio to Cut Scenes. Characters should speak and have subtitles for hearing impaired.
Please do something different with the Harlequin Cap. A pointy wizzard hat would be much better.
i disagree and doubt very seriously that jump will be added, and if it is it wont be what the wow fans want pogo sticking monkey hoping it will be a more elegant sytem i bet but of course only time will tell and if the history to this point stays true it will be a damn year before they impliment anything that really changes the game very much at all ... each month they add like a new npc to a corner in a town nothing yet has really changed if u think i'm wrong send me hatemail to my ingame MAILBOX .....
Include the following:
1) F
2) I
3) N
4) A
5) L
6) F
7) A
8) N
9) T
10) ASY
Mostly battle related, but that's the part I'm having most fun with.
1. Balanced class system (No NM soloing plz)
2. On that note: Bring on the Musketeer!
3. Weaponskills more or less tied to weapons
4. Multiple weapontypes for each class
5. Implement multiple roles with unique skills for all classes(Paladin, Black mage, Sniper, Ninja, etc.)
6. Burn down everything around Gridania! (City's pretty cool though)
7. Our own personal chocobos
8. Airships! And not small ones but something like Blackjack.
9. Fun stuff to do to level up(read: content) like a contest between parties where NM is released to an area and it must be tracked down and fough until it runs away and track it down again 'til it dies. Huge Exp/Sp would be awarded based on damage dealt by your party and some hunting points? to top three parties to buy some related stuff.
10. More challanging behests or easy and hard behest for every camp. By more challange I mean enemies that won't die in 5-10 seconds and make healers useful and minor NM at the end.
1.MY OWN AIRSHIP(sure make it hard to get but let me take on passengers)
2. moogles out side gridania CS
3. Cid with normal teeth and connected to getting your own Airship
4. variety of content
5. my own choco that doesn't cost to use (ie no Choco Whistle= 10000gil)
6.my own boat to sit at sea and fish hehe
7.that is all i got.....
1. Strategy Based Progressive Challenges -- Enter scenario, clear yard trash, mini boss (solo), clear more yard trash, mid boss w/ goons, clear more yard trash, final boss w/ plenty of goons.
2. Banking System -- here's an idea, how bout an MMO w/ a bank where you can have a savings account w/ an interest rate, can make investments, get loans etc.
3. Auction Houses/Retainers -- an AH feature w/ an easier interface for searching for items, and a delivery system for when you find/buy/win and item. actually employ those retainers, and make it so that the retainers gain exp based off of net sells, the only thing they gain from leveling is how many items they can put in the bazaar slot.
4. Storage - A way to be able to increase bag size, or have specialized bags i.e. a tackle box for fishing bait/flies/lures, or a tool box for all the crafting tools. Equipped items are not in the inventory.
5. Repair System - Able to repair items that are equipped, it is a fantasy game lol :)
6. Auto-Targeting - Take the self auto-target out...completely...it is rather irritating thing to kill something and instead of auto-targeting the nearest mob you auto-target yourself. for non-offensive skills it makes sense.
7. The option to turn just your players name off, i think we know what our toons name is and the vibrating going downhill thing makes me dizzy and almost lose my lunch :P
8. I really dislike getting 1-hit by way of omega lung cookies from high rank mobs in noob areas. while i dont mind them being in the area the fact that there is a 0% chance of getting away from them because they like to spit on noobs is a bit demoralizing =)
9. Transportation - Mounts, common this is late in the MMO genre lets get the mounts out.
10. Removal of the jewelry slot thing, if i have the slots i should be able to put stuff in em.
The hardest transition into this game was the non-standard MMO movement controls, we should be able to move around without having to use the mouse. w-forward, a-turn left, d-turn right, s-walk backwards the camera should be locked behind us as a neutral point. And the movement when your locked-on to a target is horrendous.
I have played a great deal of the MMO's released since the launch of EQ1 in dec of '99, there is a lot to this game that most veteran gamers find or would find appealing. But one thing that most new MMO's never address and keeps a lot of us from really joining a newer game is the fact that we have to give up month's to years worth of item's, mounts and everything else we have earned and start from complete ground zero again. I don't want handouts or free junk, but having mounts that are attainable, challenging and progressive content, RvR (risk vs. reward) system for quests would pay dividends to gaining a bigger player base/clientele (which makes those bean counters smile). One last thing is that a new game has to bring in what we know, and add plenty of new and innovating new things for us to learn, achieve and keep us challenged.
This game is beautiful and has so much potential it hurts to think about. Just remember that your Square-Enix, and Final Fantasy is and has been the leader in RPG's since nintendo, lets dig into those archives and bring 20+ years of experience out and make this the landmark in MMORPG history, or you can just let Warcraft lay claims to have made a better RPG then you :)
#1. Complete visual and audio redesign of the game world.
#2. Making classes have unique and diverse abilities; and revisiting their animations.
#3. Development of excellent storylines and quests with engaging quests and cinematics for all level ranges.
#4. Revamp of the gathering and crafting system so it is faster and doesn't bore me to death. Make items of different qualities stack with each other (only separated at time of crafting). Increase the number of sale slots on a retainer to 25-40.
#5. Introduction of a summoner class.
#6. Introduction of player housing and mailing system.
#7. Flesh out airships, chocobos, and ships (which are clearly unfinished)
