Oh, totally agreed. But it is BIS, even if no one really goes for it. :p

I think that one reason the ilvl requirements still apply to premades (and should continue to) is so people can't sell carries+loot to i45 newbies in AF1 gear who bought their gil via RMT.
No, I don't 'have' to, but I do it anyway. There were 8-9 of us who wanted to get together and do the thing, as an FC, because we tend to do things for fun and enough of us were interested. For that to work, well, we had one main tank, one main scholar, and six main DPS, and that meant someone had to be able to step into secondary roles. Which is what I did. I've already done the content we're working on as my main, with a variety of PF groups, and continue to do so when the opportunity arises; but on coil nights with the FC I'm needed as something else and I do it as that something else. I was also the only one who'd cleared (and in many cases even entered) the turns we started at as well, and so I taught them. I didn't have to, theoretically; there's lots of guides out there and they could have done it for themselves. But I did anyway.
I feel sorry for you if "I can help my friends out by playing in this role so I do" is something you can't wrap your head around, or that someone might actually enjoy playing as more than one class. Because you're genuinely arguing that I shouldn't play with friends because our natural class leanings don't match up. What the hell.
Nothing wrong but just proves that SE knows nothing about the potency of their own stats. BiS for many jobs are below these requirements, hell my tank in full crafted RHS which is unambiguously BiS only just hits 123. Way to encourage tanks to gear poorly SE.
Tank BiS is i130.
T13 some use a couple i110s but with the echo tank BiS is for sure i130. BiS was never full right side i110s, they were used for progression and only for T13.

BiS isn't absolute. There's more than one way to gear up efficiently.
There's no Bard BiS.
BiS could be i120. Could be i125. There's differences, ya know. Depends if you want to go ham on your job or not, really.
Levels are too high. All the content came out when item level max was 110. If people can do it then, why is there a cap now?
That, OR
Zeta Relic
Full 130 Left side
Crafted 110 right side
Hits exactly for 123.
I was starting to think that SE made this level req specifically for people with full ilv130 armor but with Ilv110 crafted accesories. Sure you might be a few levels short, but hey, queue with 123 ilv, then switch in the instance.
As a tank, I agree with you half and half.
Yes. I get the best optimization for tanks is going all in on VIT and becoming a giant pool of masochism from cleaves, busters and devours. However, slowly going from ilv130 accesories to pentamelded ilv110 accesories, I felt that the pros far outweighted the cons. for a loss in around 400-500 HP.
-Higher Aggro Generation
-Higher Block Rate = More Mitigation
-Higher DPS (PUSH THEM DEEPS)
-Melded stats (Yes. lower stat caps but easier to meet the accuracy cap for T13 [IF you're in progression])
Course, this comes from a tank that is working on T10 -T13. However, until I am absolutely done with FCoB or Heavensward hits, I'll still use Crafted accesories + STR materias. ...Unless SE reworks PLD stats, but until then. Lel
I don't even know why this is an issue. It's not like the people who make it into T12 and T13 are gonna down it on DF.
We certainly weren't thinking that right? right???
I kid. slightly
Not sure what part you kiddin, cause people in here are complaining about this ilvl restriction being forced on pre-mades.
Seems like a slap in a face to crafted i110 accessories. Pretty much forcing you to have full 130 left side + 135 weapon if you choose to use overmeld accessories for t13. I think with just Augumented Ironworks weapon you only end up with 122?
Because a DF group is generally not capable of the same feats (with minimal resources) as a pre-made. People generally built up their equipment by acquiring the gear from these raids and/or tomes and crafting (crafting being mostly irrelevant here though, due to the requirement). The loot you obtain from that i110 requirement in T10 is i130... quite the boost in ilvl. You have to remember that besides Echo, the content wasn't exactly nerfed...
Simple solution then. Change your gear to the melded gear when you get in, use the higher ilvl gear as a gatekey. Done
Yea except some people decided to gear all their accessories with overmeld i110 and used their poetics for left side on other classes.
Now they gotta get a piece of two of ironworks accessories just for the sake of entering?
Or I guess they can farm earlier turns and take accessories from people that actually needed them.
Would a mod mind moving this tread to the suggestions section?
That. . .doesn't even make sense as a statement. You just said that all BRD gearsets are exactly equal.
Shouldn't have to game the system to work around an unneeded restriction. Yes, that's a workaround, but the idea is to not need workarounds.
I dont care XD I will never do those coils. Not even with 50% echos boosts
I think you should look at his link, he has his tank full slaying. I agree with him in the sense that the amount of hp with echo is adequate but it's a straight trade off while crafted gives like 75% of both, it is clearly the best of both worlds and an overpowered middle ground. The fact that SE continues to weigh ilevel in terms of tiers of gear and not stat weights is backwards and feeds misinformation to players, the result being players terribly geared but high ilevel.
Here's the thing some one told me that SE never wanted crafted gear to even be used in coil they wanted it to be used as catch up gear but now they got people clearing this stuff in just a week with this stuff.
I'm also hearing that melded gear will be useless in Alexander because they dont want it used this way.
Because now that FcOB become PUG's land, it is needed to lessen all the drama and ragequits you will witness on DF there, caused by people that otherwise will queue there without any chance to survive first 30 seconds of fight.
And that does not affect the pro players that have T13 on farm: they just put on accessories to meet the reqs, and switch to bis gear when in.
Just right, thx, next
Ugh... my static got together last night to continue our progress in T12. T10/T11 have been on farm. Guess what? Monk and tank don't meet the Ilevel requirement. Now we're in a kind of limbo. yay
I love how ppl assume they have the skill of Lucrezia and co. lolQuote:

The cap is just fine.
The cap is allright, even static parties with such ilvls usually struggle (T13). We are talking about DF parties here.
That's a really sucky situation, are they new to the game? I'd imagine unless they were completely new to the game they would have at least 2 or 3 poetics accessories for other classes they could throw on plus whatever left side gear they have just to get in then put their real gear on after you get in.
If not then I'd farm t10/11 for literally any accessories they can grab just to boost the ilvl to get in (that might be easier and avoid them wasting poetics if they don't have many accessories). That being said, I do know with all the DW drops a monk can need roll in 10 and 11 they're put to about i120ish with a 115 weapon and the rest of the gear 110.
