I can confirm the housing zone (lavender beds) is fine.
I have several alts on leviathan (don't ask) and all but 1 is NOT parked in a housing zone and that's the only character i can log in with.
All other alts i logged off in gridania, limsa, central than etc i get the eternal loading screen. But i log and relog the character in lavender beds and i get in just fine.
Also, i logged alts from other servers like behemoth when i was deciding on servers and i can get in with a character parked in old gridania without a problem.
So to sum up for SE...no, it's not the user's internet or game client corruption. So go ahead and fix this SE.
PS: I'm on PS4 if that makes a difference. And i just relogged with the character in lavender beds and i'm in the game right now...wish i can leave the residential zone so i can really play though.
EDIT: changed "parked" to "not parked" sorry my thoughts are scrambled when i woke up to this problem hehe.

SE will always default to "it's not us, it's you". That's why 99% of threads that complain of issues will always get a White Knight riding in to say it's a problem with your connection. I'm shocked non have commented yet to let us know that it's ALL about our Internet access companies and nothing to do with SE at all.
It's definitely a fault on SE behalf as their login server, data centre system & housing servers seem to be fine. The problem occurs for everyone when they try to move into a non-residential area.

have any of you called your ISP provider to make sure its not your end? Like call your ISP while your in SE customer service and let them talk to each other lulz
This completely ruined my friend's wedding too. Even by some miracle the servers let us login, it probably won't let everyone on right away and the chapel will be empty...
I'm having the same problem despite it saying levi is back up. Says server is full then loading screen FOREVER. No sound on the loading screen and unable to close the window.
This is simple, the server is the problem. if not why im able to log in any other server but not in leviathan?
Post your ISP's pls if u know them "example" comcast, Digis ect"
Can log into other servers just fine and play without a problem but any character not in a home zone on Levi cannot be played :(

It's definitely not an ISP issue. I use an ISP local to this area and can log into and play on every other server but Leviathan. If they are not looking at the total current population of Leviathan relative to other servers and notice a problem, then they are simply hoping the problem will fix itself. It won't.
If it was an ISP problem, how then am I able to post this from my cable wired PC and able to go any website I want and play other online games? They need to actually bring the server down for an emergency maintenance, let people know its formally down, and resolve this issue.
I can categorically state, with utmost certainty, that this is NOT related to your ISP. It's a problem between the housing server/area and the server/area that provides the open world experience on Leviathan. It's completely out with the control of anyone other than SE.
There's nothing we can do and just have to wait for SE to work out how to solve it.
The only thing helpful really was that I logged in fine to the housing ward. As soon as I tried porting to Gold Saucer, I got stuck in endless loading. So I restarted the client and while I can get it loading, it never stops loading. The same thing happened to my FC mates.
Edit: and even though there is nothing we can actually do, it would be nice if it was admitted, yes there is an issue. It's not our ISP it's the server.
I am not saying it is ISP but they are blaming ISP so fact we are all diff ISP would show them otherwise so they can stop saying it is that not them
Comcast here. Can log in and play on other servers, but Leviathan is forever loading.
Yes other character on other servers works just fine...
I have Brighthouse Echo. No problems other than loading on Levi. Was working fine yesterday.

Cant really think of any cause other Server congestion or DDosing. Being stuck in a loading screen simply tells you that. Their server is too congested to fullfill your port request in order to enter "x" zone you want to port to in game. Alot of people must have sub after that free login week, but they didn't realized about the population and the congestion it will bring on the server.
Used to work tech support for Comcast services, and I can say without a doubt that this is true. Can't even begin to tell you how many calls we would get per day from people being told by their ignorant "tech" that we were blocking <Insert Random Thing an ISP Wouldn't Block Here>
If it helps anyone gather data, I'm with Cox Communications, but....it's not an issue on our end. I have done all the suggested steps (prior to talking with support, and after just for good measure). I reset my internet. On the character screen, my connection status is good. I have created another character on a different server to see if it was the download itself that had somehow gone corrupt. Nope, other servers are peachy. I even shut down my PS4 for a bit and rebooted it. I have done every single standard IT fix-it method, and nothing worked.
Obviously it's an issue on SE's end. I work in a similar field as support. Half the people there don't ACTUALLY know what they're doing. They give standard responses and go to their supervisor if they need more detailed information. These people's jobs are to keep people's heads cooled. It would be massive if they at least put a notice that they are AWARE of an issue on their part and are looking into it. But right now, the best they have is "We fixed it 3+ hours ago". That's not good enough for a game that requires a subscription to play.
Tried to logging again after a few hours still nothing. My subscription comes up for renewal in three days as well. Pretty bad timing SE.
If there are truly fewer than 100 players on the entire server, wouldn't that set off an alarm? Do they not have the ability to see the current server traffic?

Agent Jordan: And as it turns out, there definitely seems to be a connection issue. It seems, as your ISP is attempting to connect to certain "Hops", the connection requests are "timing-out", which definitely is causing your inability to re-connect to the server.
Agent Jordan: Out of 30 Total "Hops", you're losing connection at #8, #11, #14 through #30. This is proving to no longer be an issue with the game or your PC, but rather with your Network settings. This is something that Square Enix cannot fix as we are not an Internet Service Provider. You will need to request your ISP to have your network settings re-routed.

Yeah, I am also stuck on the loading screen. I am will Rogers in Canada. I called my ISP and they said there was no problem. It is definitely an issue with the server. It is rather disappointing, as I only have a couple hours to play, and would really like to get into the world and take advantage of my time available.
Anyhow hope that helps or lack of helps anyone had no private info posted rlly so that is all 100% convo
