Necklace is from a quest, Magnesium posted a link to it a couple days ago.

Tonberry stuck at 6 dolls for quite a while as well
Yep. You can pretty easily fit four without it feeling too crowded.

I have my garden way in the back where the yard wraps around the side of the house. xD
In love with the trees as well

Odin has reached 6 dolls as of today.
Cactuar is at 6 dolls as well.
Siren is also at 6.
It is possible that they "time locked" doll pops to prevent high pop servers from completing the event far faster than smaller servers.
It may be limited to 2 dolls per 24 hours.
Or maybe everyone's gotten bored with all the maps and have nothing else to obtain, nowhere else to put anything... I worry this event will never have a conclusion...
The problem with this event is... A lot of players don't give a crap about houses because they are so ridiculously expensive that there isn't really much hope they will be able to afford one anytime soon. 10 million for a house on my world. 10 million. Freaking ridiculous.
Yeah, Excal's still on 6th too. :(
Either this Event is on a timer or it is possibly one of the more poorly thought out ones to be put out. I mean most of it can not be enjoyed unless you're lvl 40 and even though you are lvl 40+ most of the rewards only apply to 1440 people/fc leaders on the server (number of plots). Once those people have the amount of trees/blankets they want, there's really no point in continuing the map grind.
So unless they plan on adding rewards that apply to the other 4000-6000 people on the server, I think they may have to consider unlocking the quests on their end or reducing the amount of completed maps needed per doll.
I like the server-wide cooperative aspect of it, assuming that is in fact what it is and it's not simply based on time passing. So far we've got 2 rows of dolls and the first doll on the third row, which seems to be where everyone is at the moment.
Another thing I liked was how it uses the treasure map system; I hadn't done this much before, but it's fun to decipher the map locations even though it is a bit grindy doing the same map repeatedly. But I like the idea of getting people who might not otherwise have tried treasure maps to try them out. It's like the Ixal quests, which got me to open up all three gathering classes and to level a new craft up to 50 almost by accident (unfortunately it was ALC hahaha.)
It's true that the rewards are better for some people than for others; I was excited to be able to get some outdoor goodies for our (small) house - the tree is particularly nice.
I would consider getting the trees even if you don't have a house - you can either save them for when you have a house, or trade them to other players; people are offering to buy them already and the prices will probably go up after the event is over (although presumably they will be available at some point either from the calamity salvager or the square enix real money store? :-/ )
I tried soloing the fights at lv33 and wasn't successful, heheheh. However a party would probably be able to do it.
In conclusion, I think it's an interesting and fun event. I don't know what's going to happen when we fill up our doll stage, but I'm looking forward to finding out!
I would say, this is the weakest event so far as far as rewards go. I have no house or interest in getting one and the necklace blows. I only did 2 maps and quit after that. There is nothing of interest in this event. This is my opinion of course. Maybe others are enjoying it.
7th doll poped at roll over. So everyone is probably right we are time locked.
I really like the structure of the event too, but there's several issues i'm seeing with it.
One, it would have made a great Christmas or summer event where everyone felt included and there were plenty of items to earn. Using it for Little Ladies only alienates non- female characters.
Second, it could have had a longer list of prizes that were more relevant to everybody, along with a sort of grand prize, but as it is, there's just 3 with the top prize being the necklace and the smaller prizes that are supposed to motivate us to complete the quest are all outdoor furnishings which even further alienates players who don't have personal housing. If they had given us indoor items as well, and maybe an outfit or a couple more accessories then it could have kept most players going while longer. As it is, people are losing interest very quickly because the event doesn't relate to them.
It's creating a situation where the server is basically dependent on the whims of a select few, and those of us who actually want the necklace have to hope that there is some sort of timer to automatically place dolls when everyone else starts falling behind in farming maps.
(Also SE, PLEASE!!! Do something about this ridiculous word limit, it makes no sense at all when you're on a phone where you can't edit your posts.)
I think stormrider is imagining 3 on the second row.
Here's a pic of all the dolls ^^

Sorry for the odd angle, wanted to take a clean one but there were peeps idling infront of it D=
I wonder why they are using the equipment thus far. From what I can see, all the dolls are related to the guilds/factions in Uld'ah. Sultansworn, archers with Immortal Flames Bow, goldsmith and alchemist guild. What else are we missing from Uld'ah?
>_> I was just being bitter because there is no way to tell when you get the next doll and there are still discrepancies between servers as mine and others are still at 6... I really want more...
So from what I can tell, its a fairly traditional Hinamatsuri set up, minus the musicians that are normally on the 3rd platform. Traditional set ups have 5-7 platforms, but ours has four. Since the musicians are absent, that leaves us with the first, second, fourth, and fifth platforms.
- The bottom platform (fifth) normally has three samurai on it. Our set up has three Paladins.
- The fourth platform is normally composed of two ministers, known as the Minister of the Left and the Minister of the Right. The ministers both wield bows & arrows. Our set up has two archers.
- The second platform is normally made up of the three ladies of the court, the two on the far ends are standing while the middle lady is seated. All of them have sake serving equipment. We see two of our dolls - one is standing and one is seated, both representing crafters. I'm certain we'll see another crafter join their ranks, albeit maybe a Culinarian instead of a Weaver.
- The top platform is reserved for the two Imperial dolls - the Emperor and Empress. I actually expect these dolls to likely be Raubahn and Nanamo, although it could be Edvya and her father (or Nanapasi and his daughter.)
Jenova is at 6 dolls! :)
Cerberus also has a seventh doll.
I think everyone on Balmung has gotten bored with it. It's a very poorly, lazily designed event with no reward for anyone that doesn't have a house except for a necklace. I myself have a house but am still bored with the whole thing and it's not worth the hassle for one more inventory cluttering item to be honest.
Shinryu already 8th doll!

Just checked and 7 on balmung m same as the last few days.
Still 6 dolls on Moogle.
Malboro still at 6. :c
Maybe server first gets necklace, everyone else boned. j/k
