Zodiac Quest Dungeon Items

I'm at my breaking point with the Dungeon ATMA. Funny thing is I thought people were just exaggerating and over embellishing on their drop rates. I'm stuck on Wanderer's Palace and Stone Vigil HM.

I ran dungeons all day on Saturday and Sunday and didn't get a single drop. Literally from the moment I woke up. All weekend long. I logged on Monday after work thinking my luck would change and nothing. I only ran 5 hours on Monday and just logged off. I'm so discouraged at this point that I could nearly cry. I just know when the dungeon is completed it's not going to drop.

No my inventory is not full, yes I'm certain I'm running the right dungeon.

Honestly I don't blame anyone but myself and this isn't a QQ post. At this point I'm burnt out. I used to speed run Wanderer's Palace back near launch because it was really the only viable way to farm tokens. I've started taking it out on my FC and they told me to just stop before I completely burn out.

I actually don't mind grinding so long as the goal is achievable but this isn't an achievable goal because there are no set parameters. I really hope they don't change the ATMA at all and leave things the same because misery loves company.

running healer, running tank, I'm being good, I'm being helpful, if someone new asks for a full clear I'm happy to do so.
I'm simply hoping that being good, I might get some karmic reward in the form of my drop.
But so far nothing
that damn place takes 30 minutes at it's quickest.

RNG is just nightmare inducing, I don;t think SE realise how psychologically damaging it can be to the player base. after every run I'm angry, I'm annoyed, FC chat gets some random potty-mouthed venom cos I need to vent, and that thought is in my head that "I'm going to be here forever", games are supposed to be fun SE, this isn't.

Question! Does having a full inventory matter? The drops go straight to your key items tab which is never ever any where near full.

I don't think it does matter, but when you have a dry run with no "luck" you/me/everybody start clutching at straws to try and stack the odds in our favor.

Yeah I understand that >.< Two full days filled with hours and hours of grinding and not a single drop to show for them. While the first day I was getting them on the first or second runs. Such a drastic change in RNG Q.Q

This is giving me flashbacks of when Atma first came out. Got first 4 really fast. Then 2 months pass and not a single drop grinding at least 2 hours nearly every day.

It's probably one of the least fun parts of the relic chain really and I dislike this a lot more than Atma at its worst. The Animus books were annoying, but there was no real RNG with it at all: the mobs always respawned, the FATEs always popped up, and the dungeon completion would always give you credit if you had the weapon equipped. With Atmas the FATEs were a lot shorter than a bloody run of AK or AV or DD. I don't mind a grind but for Petes sake RNG is just depressing and annoying.

The original ATMA quest, the original light quest and this quest just PROVE SE is still stuck in FF11 grind mode sometimes. They need to make challenging interesting quests. There is no reason they can't make new quest content every 3 months.

It was definitely a lot more fun when they temporarily lifted the Ilevel sync. Those SR's were glorious.

Been having luck so far yesterday during first 3 quests. Then this "method of his malice" is so fked up. Been doing this all day 0 drop, copperbell mines HM ....

I know the chance is like 11% ish, but the fact RNG is still RNG

it is possible 100000000000 run with 0 drop, on extremely-extremely^100 unfortunate people
it is RNG. so mind boggling.

SE definitely needs to move away from the whole RNG shenanigans. 1 in 10 odds is still a 1 in 10 chance of success with a 9 in 10 chance of failure.

That said, Light farming was tedious, but it was still progress that could be measured in a meaningful manner. The Anima tomes, also tedious, definitely could be measured in the same manner.

But this whole farming Dungeons until you get your item to drop while dealing with packs of scrub-idiots who can't be bothered to pay attention to dungeon mechanics? Please, I'd rather get kicked repeatedly in the genitals by someone wearing steel-toed boots instead of enduring another 20+ runs of Snowcloak, Dzemael Darkhold, or Amdapor Keep.

There's no metric to measure progress using this RNG drop system. If SE claims that there's a force-drop check-sum value, then at the very least change it from "run it 'til it magically drops" to "run it X times and assemble the X number of pieces you have acquired-- that has been all guaranteed 100% drop rate-- and fuse them all into the actual item itself."

Having the same issues, I have run DD, AK and Pharos at least 20+ times and have still yet to see drops. In 2 weeks I have only been able to get 5 of the items needed for all 4 quests.

Like some others I too am hating certain dungeons I once liked because of constant grinding for days and days with no drops.

I have 3 more to complete and for the past 2 weeks of grinding I haven't seen a single drop... When I started I've had a few that dropped on the 1st try. Others within a dozen runs or so. but these last 3, Sasashta hard, Lost City, and Temple of Quarn hard have just stopped. I've run them so much at nausea that I never EVER want to run them again for any reason whatsoever. That's a shame because those 3 are one of the finest designed dungeons I've played in the past. Very well detailed. Unfortunately I never want to see them again and I feel so discouraged that I don't even want to finish this Zodiac thing...

I thought i was doing something wrong or missed a step but apparently lot of you are having my same problem. I have been ruining dungeons for 5 hrs straight for a week and not 1 drop -_- ... There is no order to them right?

I have
10 Zodiums
10 Zodiac Scrolls
10 Books of Skylight
5 Flawless Alexandrites

Almost have everything for all 10 Relics but I'm behind on Animus and Novus grinds x; Gotta catch up!

The developer that thought this was a good idea should have to farm the zodiac items in order to get their paycheck.

this is crap man i did coppermine almost 10 times still no drop..wtf with this man , forcing people to grind same dungeon so many times is not a fun at all why dont just let people get the weapon easier since there is so many class...i really feel disappointed on their decision to make such stupid way to get relic, i rather it say do 10 times each dungeon than fking 9% drop rate.. PLease dont come out with such stupid thing in the future.

My worst drops on my first Zodiac progression were:

Copperbell Mines (HM) - 1/27
Hullbreaker Isle - 1/26

All the others were 12 runs or less. I never had a 1/1 situation. :(

I'm now on Sunken Temple of Quarn (HM) and currently 0/5.

The bonus point on theses runs was meeting some great people along the way. I won't argue about that. :)\
I noticed a lot of first timers hitting Hullbreaker Isle, thanks for those soldiery bonuses! /thumpsup!

I have tried it differently for another Relic, doing the quest now with my novus weapon so collecting light at the same time, but over 25 runs of WP and still nodda. I seriously am regretting doing another Relic at this point, lol

I guess peeps by now might have notice the huge tweak in rng shyt drop rates for Zodiac braves item.
Other players who did Zodiac braves after the launch for a mth had only 4-5 dungeons with a drop.
Now, it became 10-20 dungeon spams for 1 drop. Everyone in my fc is complaining about the terrible drop rate.
Since when did the developers tweak the drop rate , it's totally clueless.
Developers only hear the voice of hardcore players complaining that braves and zeta was easy.
Unfortunately, they do not spare any single thought for players who tried to cope with real life activities and balance it between their scarce gaming hours.
I had almost serious backpain trying to spam 20 rounds of hatali hard and 15 snowcloak for them to drop, hoping that i could get my relic done in the weekends.
It ended up a bad weekend for me only to earn only one drop for dozens of dungeon spams.

And at the same time the Elitist gripe because the game is "Too Casual". So what do the devs do exactly? Answer is, as they please. If they catered to the Hardcore players only then the game would be to difficult for any one with real world obligations to be able to play. Like wise if it was only casual content that had no challenge then there was no point in making it multiplayer because hard core level grinders and high tier craftsmen would beat any content they made in less than 24 hours of it's release.

The happy medium is what we have now. Ex Primals and End Game raids that are harder than even some of the more skilled players can handle and casual content that's entirely governed by RNG to the point that it makes speed grinding it neigh impossible. The "Story" content is just that, story content. It's neither casual nor is it hardcore it's just something to do. Run in there with minimum gear and it's a challenge, alot of my ex-guild mates liked to do that while others like me over gear it so bad that it's just a speed bump rather than a road block.

So we have Hard Core Raids that are short but ridiculously hard (Aka iLvls mean nothing), Casual Grinds that take obscene dedication (Aka Time Sinks), and Mid-Core story content that can be as hard or as easy as you want via gear stats. It's not bad but at the same time not good, thus is the price for trying to please every one. To be good at every thing is to not be great at anything.

Thats just not true at all.
The hardcore raider, loosely titled elitist, did not do his Zodiak until the Zeta stage was patched into the game.

The stance on the relic (on this forum) was: "Relic is not worth it, its crap, I'm getting my Dreadwyrm weap in no time, you stoopid relic farmers"

None of these raiders come here and would say Relic quest is a breeze.
Instead, it's exactly the other way around, the casual/mid-core players came here mouthing how the grind is a good thing and you don't need to do it if you don't want.

I have to say, this grind for the dungeon drops is killing me. I love this game, and as annoying as the light was, it wasnt so much based on RNG, but this is so insane. I've done hundreds, LITERALLY HUNDREDS of runs with only 7 total to show for it.

I've only got 1 additional Zodiac dungeon drop since i posted previously i think...i hate this.

I am currently counting 59 runs of Copperbell HM without a drop... This is killing me. I dont know if i should yell, swear or cry about it. Im a DD, i have horrible wait times and if 1 or 2 ppl are new to the dungeon, i sometimes wipe up to 4 times... I hated this dungeon before the quest, i hate the dungeon even more now. I have a lot of time on my hand... What are ppl supposed to do with only 1-2 hours a day?

Seriously SE... if its supposed to be 10% chance it should have dropped by now! Once - when i left the dungeon - i heard a sound as if i had finaly gotten the drop... But no, it was just a sound... am i bugged? Is this quest bugged? Is FFXIV bugged? See, i write silly nonsense... this is what Copperbell HM does to me... im going CRAZY!

Currently stuck on Snowcloak (10+), Lost City of Ampdapor (20+) and Copperbell mines (30+), these are driving me crazy. The other dungeons (like 8 of the items) i got all within 1 to 5 runs.

Just done my 3rd zodiac, i got all the drops at over 1800 nexus lights. Dungeon farming while just playing normally (daily ex roulette, weekly towers, alex maps, helping FC etc). At least this time, I have no dungeon over 20 runs.

20 runs on lost city still not drop...this is just god damn ridiculous.

I've been pretty lucky with most dungeons at 2-3 and few on first go... Until Hullbreaker. I'm by no means at as many runs as many people in this thread, only at 8 runs so far, but with DPS queues it is a long haul

I was getting pretty frustrated until a run today. Joined and said hi and then came all 3 other players saying 'this is my first time here'. I actually enjoyed talking them through it, giving tips, etc. we didn't even wipe and the tank was happy to do some big pulls :) 3 commendations at the end made it not so bad I didn't get the drop. I don't mind running it now for some reason..?

Although, if I get to 25+ runs I am sure my attitude will change..

Final tally 16/90 runs total to get all drops. I'm happy to be done with the quest...yes I think it should be nerfed...no I won't ever be torturing myself with that again once was enough....

but see those 90 runs u could have been doing with zeta #2 so you would almost done with lights by then lol

only 1 more drop since my last post over a week ago...this is pissing me off. RNGesus hates me.

Welcome to the club, on my 2nd Zodiac chain and have averaged minimum 30 runs per dungeon.
Those who say rng eventually evens out for all players.... yeah sorry your full of it, lol

I did my 2nd relic a while back. got all my drops in 30 runs total. I'm so awesome!

Feel like vomitting blood. Spent whole dy to farm dungeon items and i got nothing... C'mon SE, go patched it would you?

Been working on Haukke Manor with friend and.... we have done 20+ runs and nothing yet. It's pretty bad.

I don't know, but when I run roulette hard that include zodiac quest (Let's say it landed to Hullbreaker and my quest is obtain item from Hullbreaker), 1 run and cring zodiac item.
