Meaning there are alternatives to dailies such as A and S rank mobs. You are not losing any opportunity by not doing the daily hunts. You just have to do it in a different method.
so there's one alternative not plenty of alternatives.
and the whole point of 2.35 changes is to make the Bills a more attractive alternative. people want improvements to Bills so that they don't have to do the Open World hunt with the massive horde where S ranks don't even load on the screen. suggesting that people go back to the horde is just a bad idea.
both systems can be improved.
the whole systeme can be adjusted and tuned to be more interesting for everybody, but i doubt they want to do it.
before talk of it i will ask one question, what it's your goal when you log into FF14? play and have fun, meet friend or new people too. maybe get some sort of progression feeling through content.
do the hunt in it form now do this? nope. someone will say, yes but with my ls we do have fun at get all the rank S, but the question it's more about all the player of the game not a small part of the playerbase.
in it form it's not enough for the whole playerbase to be able to take part into the hunt, a lot of people will be left out. that a fact! why this? because they have try to please some player asking for old school open world content. sadly this sort of content was already elitist by nature, some will say it's a competition... i will answer, it's not a competition when only a few can show them skill.
it was easy to avoid this sort of trouble, by offering a new activity at the same level of the dungeon or raid. but like i have said before in this thread, it was never the goal, because they think that people will stop do dungeon or raid because of this. when they have stop to do dungeon and raid because of the reward was handed before the 2.35. in it form it's still at the larvae states. the hunt can become something far better than what we have now. they can even create a competitive metagaming with it.
i'm fighting for make the dailies and weekly use the levequest system instead of a classical and inefficient dailies one. the advantage of the levequest, it's that the same as the daily, but it don't punish you because you can't play one day, if you can't play one day, you can still make the next day, not with the dailies.
how make the levequest better for this? when you get a levequest of hunt, you go to the region for the levequest and launch it, from there the monster will pop anywhere into it. people will have a timer for find it and kill it. for make it even more interesting, the whole group must be close of the person launching the levequest. like this it will be a true hunt, but you don't look for a monster, you look for a place that will make it pop. like this no one outside the group can help you to find it. it will be a true hunt and will be nicer.
the idea to use the rank B monster for the dailies it's not bad, it's quite a good idea, but it's not enough! we need too to offer more option, in the V1 we had the Faction levequest system, more you was doing levequest for a faction, more point you was gaining, with this point it was possible to take harder levequest. by using something similar, we can get levequest for monster or rank A and S. allowing FC and people from the server to create a better community relation than now. since people will not compete for get the claim or enough contribution, but instead will work together for fight the threat.
i have said, early that it was possible to create a competitive way better, by adding another level of hunt, the FC hunting, for each hunt the people of a the FC do, with the levequest, the FC get point, after this FC can use this point for buy bounty that will be timed for 4-8-24 player, each of this version can be a sort of ladder, depending of how the team will do it, they will receive a score, forcing the guild to play better together for get the best score.
ps: they can still left the monster of rank A and S in the world, even if i think that they need to change it to rank S and SS, the first one ask between 30-40 player for be beaten like now, but the SS will be at the same level than odin and behemot, the Rank A will be put into the faction levequest and FC levequest.
Admit that this idea is far better than what we have right now.
This suggestion is everywhere. It's not often that the entire playerbase is shouting the same solution to something they don't like, so I hope SE takes notice.
After multiple days of this, I've found only 3 of the FATE NMs for Dailies. This needs to be changed.

The one main issue I have with making Hunts a "Guildleve" of some sort is that it really takes away the Open World nature of The Hunts. At that point, it's really another Instanced / "Closed System" that has nothing to do with the rest of the Community / your Server.
Despite all the issues with Hunts, the one big thing I have enjoyed is truly getting out in the Eorzean World (on our Server) and running into a lot of players all doing an activity together. Prior to this, because of the game's insistence on Duty Finder / Instanced Dungeons, etc., there is very little need to interact with your own Server / Community. And that's really unfortunate.
I am actually enjoying the changes they have made on the Hunts with the last patch. When the hunts first came out, and all the screaming, raging, crying, and whining was the biggest turnoff ever. So I just didn't even bother. I picked them up last night, I was able to complete all the bills with just me and my choco. The FATEs required were surprisingly faceroll, if the weekly elite mark is always going to be a class B mob (which I sincerely hope is the case) then I feel I am going to enjoy the Hunts now. I do think the S rank mobs should be Odin difficulty, to encourage the entire zone to pitch in, and give others ample time to arrive, but I don't think that's going to happen. But bravo SE for the current changes, I was pleasantly surprised!
the problem isn't how hard the FATEs are, it's that for most people they don't spawn when we have time to do them. that's why we're asking for them to be replaced with more B Rank mobs in one way or another. and also B Ranks right now are way too underused since it's only 1 per character per week. this minor adjustment would make the world more lively.
i completely agree with this but that's for a different time and place. they are unlikely to make such large scale changes to existing designs, just hope and ask for new content to not be designed with a "daily" reset in mind.
I saw a suggestion elsewhere regarding A-ranks being made the weeklies instead. What if everyone in a party with someone who had the bill got half the reward? At the start of each week people would group up and proceed to hunt down their 8 marks, and then throughout the week there'd be more hunting parties as people who don't get to play often need help downing their weekly. It would give people a reason to cooperate and a chance to meet some people on their server and make friends. Lowering the respawn timer to 10-30 minutes would complete the changes.
That would only leave the S-ranks for the elitist horde, and S-ranks are exactly what a horde is needed to bring down.

Change it! I sat and stared my character's ass for 2 hours last night and burned the Frakking hamburgers trying to make sure I didn't miss "Tryp Fantastic" FATE (ended up missing it - thank you "The Leftovers"). There's only so much pixelated ass I can stare at before I table flip! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Yeah, I'll give it that. It's better than NM camping in FFXI, in the same way that being kicked in the gonads by a child is better than taking a Nolan Ryan fastball to the same anatomic region.
Makes no since at all that a weekly bill can be defeated in minutes and the daily takes hours. Very backwards.
If nothing else swap the daily and weekly bills all together. I would probably be okay with doing a *weekly* bill that involved a few fates, but no way would I want to do that every day.
I agree, there are other many ways to make hunts work better with what's already in the game, but I have to say waiting for the fates to pop somehow remind me to the good old days on FFXI farming NM's, but much less tiring.
personally i have one more time abandon to do it... i do the weekly and that all.
+1 OP. Pretty dumb system overall. SE needs to learn we don't enjoy friggin FATEs, let alone sitting around for hours waiting on ONE. B ranks makes far more sense, and feels like 'Hunting'.
i was able to do only 2 of 14 FATEs for the Allied Seals Dailies last week.
luckily was able to do 1 today, but i doubt that luck will hold.

That's pretty much in line with many of my friends. Most tried waiting an hour or two, and gave up. After a few days of waiting and waiting for a FATE and never having it pop, it wears you out. :(
This system just doesn't work with these rarer FATE NMs.
Dev Team please fix this.

I liked them when 2.0 started and I did them casually when i encounted them on my way, but after all the content that force me to basically afk waiting (or else i lose) you make me (and i guess a lot of other players) hate it...
I think you should remove fates or remove content depedent on fate... and add it to dungeons, like during dungeons a random fate may occur like a boss fate in the middle of the dungeon :D
I, personally, want to see all Hunts made Bs. But if they're hellbent on including FATEs in these, then make the weekly mark a FATE boss. At least then you have a full seven days to work on it, instead of trying to cram 2 in per day.
I'm mainly just sick of getting into hunt parties & every hunt we go to it's pretty much already dead cause there's been some cheating going around again. I'd much rather the B be a Daily and not a Weekly so I don't feel like I have to do A and S to get Allied Seals in a decent amount of time.
The "hardcore" people won't really be affected by it cause they'll still hunt A and S a bunch while the rest of us can at least get 50 seals a day from B ranks, sounds fair to me..
Change the B to the two Fate daily. Change the A and S to the weekly, with A common, S uncommon. Fix all marks like B no rewards if don't have marks. Fixed.

Yah, I wouldn't mind that either, but the 3 Daily "Regular" Mobs are actually fine. It mixes things up, and the 3 Regular targets are always plentiful in the world.
The changing of the 2 Daily FATE NMs shouldn't be very hard at all. I hope it gets fixed soon.
while I agree it would add purpose to killing B's, which would result in more people killing B's, and getting the achievement, it's easier than ever to get the B achievements in reality. If I'm hunting for an A, and lap a B (read: it's still there after I run around the entire zone once), it's going down. (I at least ask if anyone needs in /shout before I obliterate it.)
I don't disagree w/ the OP, either. I picked up the daily after the update, went to Coerthas, did some fates on a lowbie job there for XP and the 10/week fate challenge, the one I had in my hunt bill didn't pop, so I deleted the key item for it and never picked it up again. After doing 9 books for my animus, I know how this goes, and it's not worth the time.
I had a major issue with this last night. Had 1 FATE daily I needed to do. It took 2 hours of killing FATEs in the area to finally get it to pop. When it finally did, it was overpowered. Don't know how many people participated last time, but it must have been a lot, because after 10 minutes I only had it down to 50%, and that was with my rank 8 chocobo. Didn't help that there was no safe place to fight and I was constantly dealing with links.
It was so late that I couldn't get help: everyone had logged off, and no responded to shouts. Eventually failed the FATE. Waited to try again, but it never re-spawned.
They really didn't think this through and anticipate the problems that would arise.
Completely agree with this idea too. I enjoyed looking "hunting" for my weekly B mark.
For me personally daily fates marks are destroying my will to play, waiting 3 plus hours for a fate in coerthas, i just can;t do that again.
Once the fate did spawn it was dead in less than a minute (due to others also waiting like me), had I been on the other side of the zone "doing something else" I wouldn't have made it. So the only alternative is camp the spot OR miss out on that daily mark.
if the fates are going to stay as part of the dailys, how about a bonus 50 seals for completely all entries on a daily bill?
I'm also not asking for the B ranks to give 50 seals each as part of the daily, the reward comes from the marked bill not the kill itself.
keep the weekly B @ 50 seals, keep the 3 daily normal mobs at 4 seals x3, and then 2 daily B's worth 10 each.

One other angle to consider for changing the Daily Hunt Bill FATE NMs to be B Rank NMs instead:
I finally found one of the FATE NMs for my Daily Hunt target up (Northern Thanalan).
I rush over and begin to solo the FATE NM, only to realize it can't be solo'd. :( The amount of defense on the NM was so high that realistically you needed 2 players + Chocobo, or 3 players+ to clear it.
You've reverted B Rank NMs to be soloable again, and they feel fine (just the right amount of HP and challenge solo). Some of these FATEs you've assigned us aren't balanced to be soloable, making it even worse than B's:
Because of luck / RNG we might have to wait 2-3 HOURS and some of them can't be solo'd.
Please consider changing the FATEs to be B Ranks. Thanks!
About the non-solo able fates. The problem is that a larger group than yourself killed that Fate last. And the number of people that killed it, or I guess there when it failed, determines the strength of that Fate on the next spawn. Which is bad. Light Party taking several minutes to down a Fate, then you come along next, you will be very hard pressed to finish in time solo. It is a system that needs some improvement. Especially Fates with aswarm of enemies. Other games can change the difficulty on the fly by the number of people in the area, instead of old data y what size group killed it last.
sitting around for hours waiting for a fate to spawn is not a daily activity--much less one that is done twice per day.
If they feel it must be strictly fates, please up the pop times ten-fold (like every 15mins etc.) for the fates required for these dailies. Afraid of it being abused by players leveling off them? Perhaps lower the experience and GC seals awards/or have it reward none, and most people probably wouldn't bother.
I'm ok with the fates, I just wish they could pop in order. Like, 2 or 3 fates are done, 4th fate pops, etc.
The randomness of these fates leaves you at times waiting for hours before it pops, it's ridiculous.
If they need to fix something, it's how fates spawn.
There are some FATEs that you can't do solo, regardless of how many people did it during the last spawn, the Chimera in north than, the cyclops in CCH, etc.
However, I haven't seen one yet that can't be done solo with a choco healing that was for a daily mark. The closest I've come to that is the 4 winds in CCH for one of the Novus books; the WHM spams stoneskin so often that you need a job that can interrupt it every 10-15 seconds, or else you can't even come close to beating it in 15 minutes.
Support OP. FATE hunts are awful. I waited for one for an hour, and finally left. I'll check if it's up as I run through the area doing other stuff, but otherwise I will not waste my time sitting around for one anymore. I have other things I'd prefer to do, and limited play time on top of that.
So either remove FATE hunts or reduce the wait time for those FATEs to pop.
I think that would be a great idea just boost the time that these FATES spawn, I don't mind fighting them the way they are but like others I don't to jump on the game and 4 hours later see the FATE finally pop. If it was a 15m type of thing then it wouldn't be an issue at all even if people rushed it, you would be able to catch it much sooner than you would waiting around for the hours on end. That's all they need to do..is just increase the spawn rate.. drastically.
