I'm pretty sure that's a *good* thing for hunts. Too many people are doing them right now and not necessarily doing everything else.

Not true, or groups wouldn't spend so much time waiting even after all their people are accounted for.Quote:
The result is the rise of the self-righteous attitude of "the greater good", when they really only mean "their own."
With so many legit reasons to dislike hunts, I don't get why people cling to notions like this.
I hope they:
1) Fix the participation Cap on mobs. This is what's causing the "5 seals for full duration" thing. It's basically the mob's hate list filling up.
2) Resets not resetting contribution. This wouldn't be a problem if they fix 1) tho
3) Buff Daily Marks. They are currently pointless.
4) Really make the mob visible this time.
That was originally the case for Leviathan, but has long since not been considered the norm. As soon as the hunt LS groups on our server have assembled, it's pull time within the next several seconds. No /shouts or anything to let everyone know something is there. In fact, if you spend some time in these groups, you'll see some hateful responses towards people doing Hunts outside of the LS. For the most part, the only ones who actually use /shout to organize a pull time with anyone but "their own" are the ones that do not belong to said LS. Maybe Hyperion has a greater population of those who do actually organize and announce things to the general populous outside of the LS, but it definitely isn't normal on Leviathan. MAYBE on S rank elites, but things are so hectic on those that it really doesn't matter. If Hyperion really is that kind, I salute you folks for your efforts.
pretty sure all they're gonna do is make B marks soloable again (confirmed in one of those Japanese site interviews), and they're gonna increase the rewards from daily bills.
don't think they're changing anything else ( ゚_ゝ゚’)
It's also possible they'll do the same thing as before, make a vague announcement making people think there's big changes incoming then do something ridiculously inconsequential like "the weekly mob won't be the same twice in a row anymore".
Prediction: Daily/Weekly marks will give more seals.
That's it.
If they nerf hunts they're going to see a large part of their playerbase become coil only log ins until new patch. Those were some dark and boring days. I know people who log in to do hunts that have already capped sands/oils on one or two jobs and are just working on their third job now. If the make a large sweeping nerf to hunts going to be empty around here until 2.4.
I'm really not sure what they are going to change, but something is going to be done. I just want them to do something that will make the other content in the game relevant again. Also I hope they don't put a cap on the seals you can get (AKA weekly cap) because I am only going to be doing hunts for the aesthetic look of the gear.
That'd mean the tunic is the last, and only, piece of unweathered gear I ever get.
Granted I don't really care about buffing my iLvl in particular anyway, but it was a nice thing to get on the side as I went for the other prizes.
Either way though, I'm not going back to the dungeons. Still haven't even been able to arse myself into doing the ones needed for my first animus book...
They will make sure no normal monster gets to be daily bill twice a during the week.
I don't know if kind is the right term, so much as a sort of camaraderie born of mutual suffering. There's a server voice chat for quickly spreading finds, as well as probably dozens of overlapping linkshells that bounce around spawns hither and yon. There's still early pulling at times, but that tends to lead to beatings with a rubber hose for being a bastard to everyone else.
Yep, I'm very happy to be a hunter on Hyperion. The big hunt groups are open to anyone who wants to join, and only people who break those rules (trolling, griefing, excessive early pulling, etc.) are removed.
There will always be that handful of players who troll everyone by pulling as soon as they dismount their chocobos, but most people have learned it's more fun to cooperate and share in the success. I hunted a TON over the weekend, and people were very good (for the most part) and waiting for as long as possible (often to the point the NM first starts disappearing) before pulling. Even at times our party only had six or seven members, NOT ONCE did I get less than full credit (only times I got less than full were on B ranks, where only a few of us tagged NMs before they died, but there were only a few like that). That's the benefit of people being patient and waiting for as many people to arrive as possible.
Hopefully, whatever happens tonight won't completely destroy the hunt communities. It's been nice having content in this game where being part of a community is worthwhile and enjoyable.
This. So much.
Excalibur is like this as well, and based on what I read on here in every hunt related thread I just feel bad for people on other servers. At the same time, nothing is stopping them from putting an equal amount of effort into working together as they do complaining about things being "broken."
Changes have been announced and the break down is:
- Total rewards from bills jumps from 67 per week to 264 per week.
- Everyone now gets a different weekly bill. So no more Naulsanity.
- B ranks respawn 5 seconds after they die, are passive, give no rewards upon death unless you have the right bill, and are soloable.
- A ranks and S ranks are unchanged.
