lower mp cost and lower amount of hp cured. worked fine that way in ffxi... why do we need super cures? but as it stands now it is hard to solo effectively as a lower class. lots of resting... sigh. well if thats how it is i guess we got to work with it.

MP cost is perfectly fine. The people complaining about it obviously are not very good at managing their MP. Blame yourself for having troubles, not the system. The THM's and CON's that I've played with have no problems with MP and I've yet to hear any complaints from them.
Also, I've been leveling solo and have had no issues with my MP. -

I didn't read a single word in this thread beside the OP that being said. After 50+ DH runs MP hasn't ever been a problem so bad that we failed due to no MP. Theres mage rotations, putting weapon away and regening, etc. I think over time with gear+advanced jobs and other advancement and character progression that the MP cost will even itself out and there will be less and less problems. Itemization in the early stages of a game is always scored a lot lower and things stay hard until more and more gear comes out. It should be that. Every piece of gear you get in DH makes the next run that much easier. When everyone's maxed on gear, it's cake. If you just nerf MP cost because it's hard or people haven't learned to manage it correctly so soon after the patch, then it'll become unbalanced. Give it time to be worked on. Remember we used to not be able to regen MP at all.

Again please lower it. People just go in parties and do it but soloing is now harder. I used to be able to solo Queen Bolete and a couple of other NMs but now I can't please don't bring it back down to the way it was before but bring it down a bit like 3 quarters of what it costs now.

The MP cost needs to be lowered, but not down to where it originally was. As a long time WHM and SCH from FFXI, I know how to manage MP, and control healing, but if you are soloing, and using Cure as a form of subjob healing, it's ridiculous if you are taking 1/4 of your MP pool for a single cure when it takes 5 minutes to recover your MP after a fight. While Cure here is about as effective as Cure III in FFXI, the HP totals and damage received in this game are also closer to the lv70+ values of FFXI, where people had a dedicated mage in a party to use Cure IV for even higher recovery values, and that person was recovering MP constantly while not actively healing/buffing party members. If the MP cost of cure spells stays at the current levels, then the MP cost of ALL spells needs to be increased accordingly, and then see how players feel about the new costs. 20MP for a nuke that can do 400 dmg, but 75 MP for a heal that recovers only 300? These values are backwards, and are biased towards DD, not survivability of the casual player who doesn't want to spend hours looking for a party to grind SP on.

You won't have issues with MP because you don't have a spell that drains a large chunk of your MP at one time, and the nukes have a negligible MP cost. Try seeing how you do with MP once you start solo fighting Gnats and Imps, and see if you still feel the same about managing MP.Quote:

If cure is 75 hell then make thunder fire ica etc also 75. That would make it fair for everyone i guess and not just punishing the other classes that are not Con. -

I see a lot of people liking the idea of making the game more challenging somehow, but most are not mages, maybe SE should find another way to making more challenging other then nerfing mages, and those who agree maybe with making it harder maybe they can volunteer for a nerf. I am sure SE could easily due away with the HP boost from vit to make it harder and leave us alone :)

What i meant earlier above just to clarify is, signaling out one or two class and nerfing them does not make the game hard. It makes it harder for the one or two classes that rely on it to solo or have a place in a party. If players want a challenge create something that is a challenge and hard to do, instead of making the game that gonna be all DD. I for one intend once 1.19 come out and physical level is no more to main lnc an only use my con during events if no one else can come con, why not my healing will be free and I'll have haste and can solo thing. The main point i made earlier is if people want a challenge and the only way SE can make one is by nerfing, make it a global nerf that effects everyone and not 2 people in the party. :)

Those who solo can't do the same fun stuff anymore. Solo people are being punished this way..
Gold way on this is: Put cure to 75 when they are in party or when you are a mage.
Leave it to lets say between 30 and 50 for the non con classes that solo or have a party of liek 2 people.
It leaves the party grinders happy the way it is and it makes the solo people happy too.
If not then make thunder2 also 75 mp. Fair is fair. Punish everyone the same way then cause the mage now has all adventages and they already had more then others as a mage is the strongest/overigged class.
Simple as that.
For those who say its too easy and that bs... well then make the game as hard as hell for the ones in party cause mainly those are the complainers as its easy to attack a lvl 40 with 8 lvl 30 people yes indeed. But as lv 30 solo attacking a lvl 40 is not easy. well not that easy :-) -

I think the costs needed increasing however I think they went a bit far. Something like 3/4 of what they currently cost would be ideal.
