The seeds can, not the plants. You need to grow them yourself (or buy them from the MB)

If it was possible to speak to an npc and just tell him how to dye it, I'd dye it pink!

Timesink, yes.. Rare Mat.. Not really just timeconsuming to get the right amount of red/green/blue shading fruits.

You need an FC house... that's your only 'rare' material.

Well, at least it doesn't look like Augmented AF part 2 from what I can see reading the patch notes.

Oh I already have one, and I read some of the posts here and it seems somewhat reasonable. But reading the "can only dye once every 6 hours"(Is that real life, or ingame hours btw?)made this seem boring. EVERYTHING in this game is locked behind timed stuff.

Why is it so hard to create content that everyone can enjoy that has a chocobo. Like go to the stable you got your chocobo at and tell them the colour you want to dye it.
SE is fighting too hard to keep everyone with all these silly lockouts

My FC have 5 active members, But me and My "Co-Leader" are the ones taking care of the gardens, and currently I'm growing all the cute minions. It's taken about a week or two to get one of them, so that's gonna take another month or 2 to get them all. And after that we can start growing chocobo dye stuff.
I can't imagine the drama in bigger FC's

yeah I think its total garbage that we have to be in an fc that has blah blah just to be able to dye our choco's I mean come on! It would be great to add it as new content for everyone to enjoy that has a choco.

I think they should implement a feed dye preview feature just like they have for dying equipment.

Going by all the other timers, I'm guessing they mean Earth hours. 6 Eorzean hours is probably only like 15mins.

no it said once every 6 earth time hours... i hope its not 1 plant per point of RGB.... removing 255 R and 255 G and 102 B would really suck at once per 6 earth hours not including the time to grow them...

I've managed to crack the chocobo color formula already: x(y>3^2)/b-a(z*y) where y=ふわふわ and b=明るく光沢のある

I'm just a bit confused on the value of x still. X=愛? That might be the natural conclusion. All you need is 愛.

Yeah, this system is coming off as confusing, more than fun/exciting so far.
I hope I am wrong; but the entire ATMA/Animus/Novus nonsense, Augments, etc. didn't leave a good aftertaste.

I just had to translate it.... Love(Fluffy>3^2)/Shiny Bright-a(z*Fluffy)..I think we still need to figure out what a and z are though.. maybe a=超级卡拉弗拉加'现实超阿里做勃勃 and z=时间片

I think that might be it.

Seriously, I love this game but what is up with everything needing to be so overly complex and tedious? Add in the fact that I would bet all of my gil that these Fruits/Vegetables will be insanely expensive.

I know, we havent seen the system in play yet but this kind of thing has been grating on my nerves since they added Glamouring gear and that was a hassle.


On topic though, assuming I can afford the fruits and assuming it works this way, Id go Purple. Just get fruits that deepen Red/Blue and depending on how it looks after maybe add ones that lighten green hues.

The seeds cost 15 allied seals and you feed a single snack to your chocobo and they must be in the stables for 6 hours. After which the stables must be cleaned once to update your chocobo, a broom should cost you no more than 20k because vendors will now sell them. Read the patch notes, that's not expensive at all.

Ah, well then I have a question about gardening if you could maybe answer it. How long on average does it take a plant to grow? It probably depends on the seed? I havent done much Gardening, or any really. Only recently got my FC house and Ive looked at a few guides but I couldnt seem to find the answer.

depends on the seed between 3days and 6days or something like that. Krakka Root for example took only 3days.
And of course how much you fertilise them.

I'll keep mine yellow, since I called my chocobo Aureus, meaning Golden

Welp, awesome. Guess I'll just be saying bye-bye to the gil in my wallet for now. May just buy the fruits when they become abundant in a few weeks.

It depends on the plant itself. Stuff like Curiel Root and Krakka root take a noticeably shorter amount of time compared to that of the minions, glazenuts, and broombush for example. I would imagine and hope that these snacks fall into the shorter growing period category of about 3 days, so expect things to be overly expensive the first few days and quickly drop in price. It always happens. Once that 3 days is up and everyone has their snacks, the market boards will be flooded soon after.

It will be interesting to see how "fine" the RGB scale will be, how long it will take to grow the colour food and what would be the yield, if we can crossbreed the seeds somehow or even if the new dye food seeds crosbreeds at all and so on - lot of fun for gardening enthusiasts out there ...

Also - If any FC-less players on Moogle want to dye their chocobos you can give me a shout in game and I'd gladly invite you to FC and give you access to stables with no other obligation.

This was really the only major thing I was looking forward to in this patch as well. :-(

Not surprised in the least.. a bit sad that I can't even buy the item from the market and use it due to no FC house haha..
