You... You do realize even with consoles, people will cheat, right?

It doesn't matter what platform it is. PC, Consoles, there will always be people will find a way to cheat the system and take advantage of any loop holes. Remember the SNES days and the Game Genies? And all those other little things? They still exist, in other forms, and people will cheat.

Just because we hear of PC cheats, doesn't mean the ones on the console don't exist. They do.

And I don't cheat even though I prefer my PC. Its only a matter of preference, really. So should I be punished because some cheat when I don't? Sure isn't fair to punish the majority for what a few do.

Spent 3.5k on mine... but not for FF14

Also OP is to funny...... sorry but not everyone wants a Ps4 and SE will lose ALOT of subs

Some companies that make MMOs or other online games require you to agree to having your computer scanned and monitered (ram, processes, installed programs) while playing the game. If a cheat program is seen in memory they can easily ban your account. This is something like Blizzard does but SE doesn't do it because I guess they don't want to make people agree to having their computers monitored while the game is running.

well yeah, it's sad, since yoshida itself have said that the ps3 will be dropped at some point. since they plan to do stuff more heavy and the console hardware will make it impossible.
and like said, cheat on console exist too, stop to act like it didn't happend.

To be fair... Final Fantasy has been a console series for over 25 years...

(with one exception that sold like 1/4 copies of what the games normally do)

not everyone is insulted, just some of us look at the serious implications of it. if you notice I responded in several of the "drop the PS3 version" threads as well expressing my concerin for the implications at that point and I don't even own a PS3.

besides. how do you know the OP was joking? he or she seemed pretty serious to me

On Excalibur we have hundreds of people cooperatinv to hunt together through an enormous TS and a dozen or so maxed out link shells. I'm sorry the community on your server is so bad -- I've rarely ever seen the kind of cooperation and coordination going on in my server ever in an mmo.

Aye in all honesty, neither of us truly knows. I just see it as the OP was mocking the thread asking if the ps3 or ps4 was holding the game back. Which eventually turned into some console vs PC debate. But who knows~

thus far the only holdback of the PS4 is a limitation on file size that Sony placed on it so it's pretty artificial. I would bet SE could get them to change that.

personally id like to see as much cross platform as possible, id even go as far as asking for xboxone support. i see cross platform as a really cool way to get a diverse community together of people who would never normally associate together. it might seem outlandish to some but thats just my opinion

What cracks me up is they think consoles games cant be hacked.

Guess they haven't played Call of duty or other games where hackers thrive on it.

Seeing how xbox ps3 and I heard ps4 call of duty ghost has hackers. Even if they drop pc support they would find ways to do it.

While on the topic of PC I was wondering if there is any word on DX11 and while we're at it next year DX12 brings new enhancements for low end PC and of course Xbox one. So if AMD mantle get their stuff together the PS4 will see some enhancements but the problem here is going forward the real elephant in the room is PS3 I think end of this year when transfers stop PS3 support will stop shortly after.

Funnily enough, SE said flatout they were perfectly acceptable with 'FFXI levels' of subscribers (which was 500-750k), meaning if they "lost a lot" they'd still be winning because they'd still exceed their goal.

1) thats 4 times what i paid and it works damn good, who cares about a frame rate drop from time to time, shit happens and its usually because of lag. it isnt 1500 dollars unbearable
2)ps4 party chat is 16 people. And more than that talking at once will eventually sound like a fuckin cafeteria. 16 is plenty and i dont have to download a program and go buy a headset/mic. The playstation 4 wasn't out when people started to buy PC's for this game.

Also "RIG" an apparatus, device, or piece of equipment designed for a particular purpose.

They said built a rig which means it was disigned for the purpose of playing games.

So anyway I like that shadowplay records stuff in amazeballs quality, nice for fc videos. I also like using dual monitors to referene things while I'm playing. So I love my pc.
I like that when its hot in my room and it's nice outside I can put my ps4 on and go play in the garden on remote play (in the shade ofc).
So I love my ps4.

That's just me though!

And tbf op has a point, obviously that's never going to happen, but his point remains, it's nothing to get plugins and whatever to 'assist' you on pc.

You wanna improve it you say. Sure.. either spend money and upgrade your PC, or turn on your ps4 and hope for a system software update/new game hotfix/patch.

I personally appreciate the wider audience this game reaches with being multi-platform, multi-purpose merged servers.
FFXIV would be nothing without PS4 audience.

consoles are easier to hack after theyve been around a while, PC has been around long enough for people to update a hack with ease, and once the new gen consoles have been around long enough they will be hackable with ease as well.....
