That about sums it up Kai. I feel the same as do a few friends I've been playing with since the beginning (1.0 beta) although maybe they are not as passionate for a gun class as I am.

Ever since I watched the intro cutscene for Limsa and saw the Roegadyn pull out his gun and saw myself standing with a pistol in hand in the early story I've wanted to play musketeer. Its not that I want it this instant but this leading us by the nose with little comments here and there for so long is getting on my nerves.

Also I am under no illusion that posting つ ◕_◕ ༽つMusketeer or RIOT!༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ will make SE give us musketeer any sooner but its nice to discuss .

So つ ◕_◕ ༽つMusketeer or RIOT!༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ !!!!!!

They delayed Musketeer, I'm delaying my resub, simple really. I mean it's just a Mcdonalds meal right, I'm sure whoever would be receiving my money can go without one for a day too. No you still can't have my stuff. Also for fun have this.

Would be hilarious if the class ended up being Corsair again. Of course, that would give us two "BRD" classes who shoot and buffs.

imho, if there was constant and better communication between Square-Enix and the community then the community wouldn't have to rely on such a phrase to get Square-Enix's attention.

why not i'll throw down for this as well...heck I stopped playing months ago and they haven't received a dime from me in awhile...I enjoyed the game but the classes were the same cookie cutter classes from every other fantasy mmo, guns is a bit more unique in fantasy games.

Plus...I just wanted to post because the other thread of people crying for people to stop posting "or riot" post made me laugh
it is apparent many people don't take any business classes, otherwise they would know unhappy customers means less returns, less returns means less profit. And business is about profit.

Rogue is the class. Who is to say THF won't come later so that Rogue has 2 jobs? Besides, be patient with MSK. After all, they gave this Rogue class (along with NIN) a new twist. Who would've expected the Rogue to wield dual blades and use poison on them? And NIN using hand signs to initiate an attack out of the combo (which the hand signs can be used in different ways for different after effects).

Rogue IS Thief... they only gave it a different name for lore reasons.

Rogue is "Twin-blade user" or some such. Not Thief. At least, that's what the translators are saying.

In fact, apparently most of the Classes in Japanese are just "Weapon-type User" from what I understand.

he did say that with the lore actual of the game, thief can't come as class or jobs, rogue are repents thief, that the closest they was able to do.
seriously people... thief is not even one of the major jobs in the series, it's one of the basic jobs, generally one of the first you can have.

I would just like to re-state as I mentioned in another thread (though I'm pretty sure I was overlooked) if they're going to announce Musketeer and Rouge, they're not going to announce both at the same games conference. They gave Rouge and Ninja to the American convention (E3). Musketeer will more likely be announced at GAMESCOM in August, which is the European convention. They do have to fairly and evenly spread their announcements between big events.

That's because the translator had to remember the english name of it, you have to look at it like this, Yoshida is saying "Twin swordsman" but the translator has to recall "Rogue" but at the same time they keep saying it's not "Thief" but they use to be "thieves" and you have to recall he's taking in a lot of information and then having to respond back as to what Yoshida said, so a slip of the tongue like that is easy to do.

If you don't believe the name is "Twin Swordsman" just go to the japanese website and google trans it http://jp.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...65e8c695f34adf

It will say "Twin Swordsman"

Or you can just take this "双剣士" and put it into the google trans it's the text found above the "Rogue" pic on the Japanese site.

honestly, there is little to no chance that they will announce musketeer in GAMESCOM or in TGS.

1) for the obvious reason that everyone seems to be ignoring on purpose : Yoshida stated that the gunner class won't be what people expect. They're expecting musketeer => it is very likely that it won't be musketeer (also, musketeer would be an awful support, as the incoming gunner class is announced as the first of the support role which is planed to come)

2) because no other class than thief should come before the expansion, which details will be revealed at the FanFest, in october/november.

Yes I know and I think that is great and makes me want it even more. I don't care if it's Corsair based, mage based or a tank with guns, I just want my gunner class I've been waiting for for 4 years.

I think people mostly call it Musketeer because for 4 years that is all we have known it as. Recently he called it Gunner and now and then I'll use that term, but it's hard to end a 4 year habit of calling it something else. In short, I think most people on this thread aren't asking specifically for Musketeer which by definition: was an early modern type of infantry soldier equipped with a musket as much as they are just asking for the class with guns.

I think most are calling it Musketeer out of default. So it's not that this is being ignored as much as, it's what we are used to calling it. We don't have an exact name like Rogue/Ninja to switch too.

As long as it doesn't play as Sazh I don't care what it is called or what it is meant to do.

If it plays like Laguna or FF tactic related gunner classes it would make my year.

Well there is one other Gun type class Yoshi-P did mention that they may be added into FF14 which is the Gunblade class but I remember that he mentioned some where that it won't be released until access or near access into the Garlean Empire due to the planned location of the Gunblade class guild.

Ehhhh I think it looks kinda cool. Make this happen, SE, please. Also, just a random thought, maybe a hybrid job that uses both gun and sword combos. I think musketeers like the ones in the Dumas books would be great, using guns but also great with sword fighting. I know those aren't the only types of musketeers or fighters that use both gun and sword but it's what came to mind. One can dream.

Like I said it old discussion so I don't remember where it was mentioned since there hasn't been much word about the Gunblade class for a long time.

and sorry I put "will" in my sentence. Don't need to feel offended about a single word mistake.

Back on topic: If the Gun class turns out to be the gunblade class we may have at least a new class that can turn into a Tank Job and DPS Job with tank Job focusing on the melee combat of a gunblade while the DPS Job focusing on the range combat.

If not then a standard gun class would fit more into splitting between a Healer Job (the Medic type which would suit Chemist Job) and DPS Job (gun focus skills which would suit Gunner Job)

but that just my opinion on how they can handle the job roles.

You kinda keep saying the same thing over and over... but that aside.

Are you ok? Why are you so upset that we call it Musketeer instead of Gunner? By your logic we should still be calling Rogue/Ninja dagger because he called it that first when he said "dagger and gunner". Which just proves that Gunner is simply the type, not the specific class name. And as I said in the last post, since I do not have a clear class name to call it by, I call it by the last known class name.

And as I said before, I just want a class with guns. What exactly is a Musketeer? I do know that Yoshi, himself has called it a Musketter back when he was discussing it over two years ago.

Which of course he has the right to change the class name, but at the moment we do not have a proper class name. Regardless, seeing that we don't even know exactly what a Musketeer is in the eyes of SE or Yoshi, it would be silly to continue saying that people "strongly believe that it will really be musketeer".

Like I said before and will say again, for me and I'm sure for others. Its about the guns, not the name. The name is simply what we haven known it as since before 1.0 came out.

Why put a musketeer guild in Limsa with no intent of having musketeers!
