Atma Fate System Broken

Man, I am doing the grind now, on day 4. Everyday at least 4-5 hours and not a single drop.

Things they could do to improve the system:

1. Let you queue for DF AND use your chocobo
2. Fates were fun until I didn't need anymore Grand Company seals, maybe make some sort of seal trade. Exchange GC Seals for tomes or SOMETHING so I feel like I am at least making progress while I grind out these fates.
3. Fates need to regenerate faster
4. I would LOVE if I could use my second class, which needs to be leveled, to grind all the fates...but nope. Gotta have the Zenith equipped.

My 60 days is coming to an end. I will have to take a break so I can work on my massive gaming backlog so I am kinda bummed my last week with the game (until the next patch) is spent doing mindless grinding. I cannot believe I am PAYING to do this. Could I be doing something else? Yes, but I want to finish this quest. So, meh. I wonder if the % drop rate is tied to your subscription fee, do they purposely not drop when you only have a few days left on your sub to force you to re-sub so you can finish this damn quest!? That is what it feels like.

I had not heard of this be-in-the-zone-at-this-specific-time theory so I am going to give that a try.

I dropped ATMA 1-9 rather quickly. From that point I sat at 9/12 (N. Shroud, E. Thanalan, S. Thanalan) for Six days. At the end of Seventh day the N. Shroud dropped for me. Two fates later, Eastern Thanalan. About 8 fates after that, Southern Thanalan. The struggle is real, RNGesus is a prick, but don't lose hope.

If you don't like the atma grind I don't suggest working towards animus, just drop it and buy a soldiery weapon. Though I think Novus is a lot more casua than atma/animusl, albIET more time consuming.

I honestly think grinding for Atma is pointless given the other options that exist. The whole purpose of Atma is a stepping stone to Animus. Otherwise there is no point for it. Animus is a true upgrade and is less annoying to get, while helping the player to remain relevant...so the reasonable thing to do is delete Atma Grinding all together because it's absolutely pointless other than as an extra thing to do for Animus, which isn't exactly easy to get either. Maybe if Atma had more stats than Zenith, it could be worth...but it doesn't and really isn't worth at all. Meanwhile, I'll just get a Weathered Liberator and upgrade it for a weapon comparable to Novus, all without making me feel like I wasted three weeks.

I don't mind Animus, it's something I can honestly work towards. The only thing is sitting around waiting for a fate to spawn but once it does I get credit. ATMA is just praying to RNGesus for incredibly low drop percentages. There are a lot of things I disagree with but deliberately slowing serious players down to trickle more money out of them because you can't keep up with content, I don't agree with.

I refuse to believe that. It's not the way it works. This system is busted. No self respecting developer should gate their monthly paying customers behind pure RNG content for gear progression. This is why most asian MMOs are crap. I'm fairly sure they are aware of the grievances of their players. The fact that they STILL have not come out and acknowledge anything proves to me that they absolutely do not have their priorities straight.

The fact that we are PAYING real life money, to simply grind fates not knowing if we are making any real progression is what bothers me.

What's to stop them making the drop rate even lower to hook players longer?

I got all my atmas in 2 days. Did it over the weekend last week

Issue is still around / recurring over and over again... how long before something gets done about it, I wonder...

I'm so tired of these Atma complain threads, not that I'm bored of people complaining about it but SE should have fixed it already after tons of complains and I do agree with all these complain threads. just tired of seeing it not getting fixed.

and the reason why they're not fixing it is horrible, "we don't want to upset people who already have Atma".

so other players who don't want to play those boring content have to wait.

why should we wait anyway? you know that we have many FUN video games to play nowadays. games that actually entertain the players instead of making us feel like doing some works.

Never. They copied all the good mechanics for the 2.0 relaunch. Then quickly slipped back to their unimaginative ways of RNG and unrewarding grind gates.

well back in 1.0 they made totems for primal drops because some drops were so just as difficult for some, so if you collected enough tokens you could trade it for a weapon of your choice. Wasn't that the deal? Could do something like that.
