Wow, just wow, I'm really hoping that's not serious BLM/SMN gear because to me it looks completely rediculous. I know where getting vanity but there's no need for SE to take the piss....

*edit* I also remembered there was some debacle over the stupidity of the 'hat within a hat' weaver gibbous. Don't see people complaining about that anymore... oh right, you can turn of head gear.

Dunno if this has already been said or not, but you people DO realize that the same patch introducing this gear is also introducing a method by which you can give this gear a completely different appearance, right?

I'm going to try and give this gear a fair shake once I see how the full male set looks like, but I'm not optimistic.

Did you read the last sentence of my original post which was altogether barely a paragraph?

Can you not also empathize how it could be discouraging to farm tomestones for weeks only to cover your new gear with glamours?

You totally missed the point. I did exactly what you did to the opposing viewpoint except as an example, because I know everyone has different opinions and misrepresenting them is a total mistake.

This is Final Fantasy, not some Korean MMORPG. I'd like to think the series is above dealing in kitschy anime aesthetics.

If that really is the new Tomes of Soldiery set for caster, then I am right there with you.

However, I don't think that it is. It really doesn't come close to matching the style of the rest of the new Tome armor at all.

While that (the OP pic) does appear to be a caster set (because of the staff), that doesn't necessarily mean it's the new tomestone armor. Personally I think it's a new crafted design.

For all we really know, the caster tomestone armor hasn't been shown yet. Or we overlooked it.

That's what I'm hoping for.

No way, that dress is more akin to visual kei than gothic lolita. Anyone caught wearing that getup to lolita meetup would be greeted by the sound of hissing and screaming cats.

(Still wearing it cause the outfit might look alright with the snowman head.)

This looks too "vanity" to be a tomes set. There was a speculation its a gear drop from Brayflox HM and I lean towards that. Not complaining, its kinda cute :p and welcome to the world of suffering us healers had to go through lol.

The design imo, is intended to not take yourself too seriously, together with a breath of cosplay air, coz u know this is a japanese made video game ^_^

I think the set looks absoultely adorable on a lalafel. But if you took the giant race...hmmm....

I'm willing to bet this isn't the new tomestone gear. I'm doubtful as it just doesn't fit with the other af2 gear, it's like a big joke. Seems more like a costume item. But we shall have to wait and see.

From what we've seen so far of all the costumes, none of the AF2 have appeared.

The one costume that did appear was the time mage look a like set, and the screenshot at the time didn't seem to have the word AF2 on it.

If the image in my OP isn't one of the Gerolt masterworks, what is the tomestone set, and why would they choose to omit it from the 2.2 promotion video? That doesn't make sense.

It looks as though each role (tank, physical DPS, magic DPS) will all share the same tomestone set. :(

The image in the OP is crafted gear. Its in the dancing video as black so its able to be dyed.

So it was shown in Redish Pink and Black. Artifact and Allagan armors aren't dye-able. Could be new Vanity Dungeon Gear as well, now that I think about it. Or it could be Gerolt's Master Works IF they allow those to be dyed.

I think it's a bit of a leap to assume that just because they're wearing a BLM weapon that that armor is actually progressive caster gear.

To be fair, its only shown on Thaumaturge and Black Mage so its a safe assumption that its Black Mage vanity gear at best. Though I saw no books in any of the previews so I can't say that Summoner won't get access to it as well as Scholar getting access to the White Mage vanity gear. The Pug however, in the gif I posted looks as if its wearing something similar to what the Bard was wearing in one of the previews so that may be DoW DPS gear.

If memory serves, Allagan 2 armor is supposed to be dark red as well.
