>.> No wonder I thought your char was hot.
I'm a actual girl btw.

Just epic! xDDD
Agree that lalafell are super cute. That's why my second main char is a lalafell. But damn, they have it really difficult against cat girls... :3
PS: Maybe I'm just lying to myself, and because I like potatoes I also like lalafells!
Originally through my early World of Warcraft days I played only male characters, but around the end of BC I was watching a Premonition kill video and seeing Xav's character kind of inspired me to try out a female character because I thought the animations were awesome.
That was a long while ago,but now I don't think i've played a Male character since. My reasoning is mostly aesthetic I won't lie about that, as I like how most the female characters look rather than the males and honestly the male humans and such in this game look like they are 12 in the face lol.
I'd say though that my main reasoning is I like the idea of a strong and battle frenzied heroine. So I don't identify her as myself, but rather something I'm watching unfold from the outside.
I started playing this game as a Hyur male. When I reached level 20 and had access to use retainers, my first one was a Mi'qote female. I liked the way I designed her that I made an alt similar to my retainer. In the end my alt ended up been my main character. Why? Besides been pleasing to my eyes, my main acquired a personality of her own; a curious and cheerful Sunseeker looking for adventure. And when danger rears its head, she can dish out the pain in a way the Garleans will run for the hills.
I used to play female characters when I first started with mmos.
But when random guys start following you around and trying to hit on you.. and to some extent, trying to look you up the skirt or initiate cybering out of nowhere.. whoa. time out. Hell no.
They didn't even pause to confirm if I was a girl or not, wtf.
And so, I've played male characters since and never looked back. No regrets. I've come to prefer having less clones as well. Haha.

I'm still waiting for this class
Mithra for stats for Thief. I think that should be enough said.
My character started off as female but I got sick of the skimpy armor and decided to Fantasia to a guy. *waves to the fellow girls playing male chars*
because i'm bad at making male characters (nothing i attempt while making them i like).
i suppose i have other reasons, but i can't think of them now.
I like dem curves baby.
I like pretty things, therefore I make the female characters. Why would I want to stare at a dude all day anyway?
Because male character customization in games like these leave much to be desired.
my main's male but my alt female taru. why? because i'd hit it like the fist of an angry god, thats why.
I originally played a male character in beta (and still have him as an alt character), but after being introduced to Merlwyb, my heart was set: fem roe it is! I prefer playing male characters normally becauseI can shamelessly flirt with other female playersI can avoid unwanted attention and be taken as "one of the guys".
But to stay in topic; I play my female roe as my main because
a) she's gorgeous and I like her emotes
b) I'm not very clever with male in-lore names
c) male elezen and roes didn't appeal to me, I had my overdose of midgets in LotRO while playing hobbits and hyurs and miqo'tes are more common than sand in a desert
For me, the shortest and simplest answer is that I find female characters suit my style best.
The longer answer is that if I don't make a character that fits my personal style, I get bored with it pretty quick. I will from time to time try making something like a Lalafell or a Gnome, and while I might think it's cute for a couple days, a week later I will have lost the motivation to play it anymore. The same thing usually happens with my male characters.
I have played MMOs for 15 years now. Every character I have ever leveled up to max level has always been a cool, stylish female character. Male characters never make it.
because i am :(
Because I'm female, and I like feeling connected to my character.
Female Roegadyn, I need no other reason!
It's cool to be a girl for once, even if it is only in virtual reality. Also, don't get me wrong, I definitely feel connected to my character.
Because I'm 2kawaii4school
If you'd tried SEARCHing I'm sure you'd have got your answer.
This 'question' appears on every MMO forum I visit (9 of them) regularly, God knows why because rarely is the questioner genuinely interested in the answers and most such posts seem simply to be borderline trolls, goading people to make comments that end up in some sort of 'gay' flame-fest.
However, I'll bite in the feint chance you're an exception to the rule .. I have male Lalas (because I find them amusing) and Roegyn (because the females are f'ugly and in any case there were no female Galka) and female cats, because frankly the male cats look absurdly 'macho' (like WOW's Blood Elves) and I'm perfectly happy with my own sexuality so I don't feel the need to portray myself as a testosterone-filled 'toon' in a video game.
I rarely play 'humans' in any game when I can choose something else, they're generally boring. That said, at least the male humans in this game don't suffer the defects the male cats do, in my eyes.
From experience from previous MMOs, spell caster gear is always kinda dorky for male characters (see Allagan Chest + Cleric's Culottes). Female chars can wear a lot more kooky gear while still looking decent.
Plus, I've been going with her name, look etc for years.
in korean mmorpg the armor always look good or sexy on female....guess that s the reason for me
This is the first female I've used in an MMO and I did it because I think the gear looks better for the most part. In FF11 I was very happy with my male character for many years (I was the guy with the beard) but once I discovered the Plastic Surgeon add-on I was usually a bit of everything most days.
It is quite a burden though sometimes, like I've had to gear up all my crafting jobs in AF because I can't bear to wear the Patrician's set in town, I couldn't craft in peace as guys would jump up and down on top of me (why do they do that?) or generally start trying to get attention or chat me up. It was either get AF or invest in a sick bucket, AF was cheaper.
Because she's pretty~ I was quite disappointed when I found out the DRG Artifact armor had the midsection missing for females though.
Because u can dress a female toon real good in all types of fashion even cross gender fashions
1. A female toon looks great in BOTH wedding dress AND tuxedo
2. A male toon looks EWWWWW in wedding dress and looks cool in tuxedo
3. Strap a binding cloth and u get either a sexy chick or a weird gay toon
I play a female character because that is what I want to see when I play, a mans butt running forward doesn't do it for me
Because I'm female, duh.
I primarily made a female character because I am a huge fan of Lightning, and made my account a week prior to the Lightning Strikes event in order to acquire the armor/weapons and aesthetics.
So, now I just stick with a female, but I am a male.
male players should played male characters and female players should played female characters
Yeah I play female characters for a lot of reasons.
1. Originally I made my first female character because Mithra were only female in FF-XI and they had the best starting stats for the classes I wanted to play.
2. In City of Heroes I made characters in my stories I am writing which include both male and female characters allowing me to exspand on their personalities by trying to role-play them in game and try to think like them. This means I do actively detach myself from my characters when I play them and is more like an interactive movie than a self empowerment trip. However I do get the empowerment from the difficulty of the game, thus why I seem to enjoy playing a tank lately?
3. I made this character mostly because I missed my FF-XI character and waiting on DRK to get here already!
4. Honestly, I just like looking female models more. As stated by other people, if your going to be staring at a butt for hours of a day, and hearing a person grunting in combat, which would you prefer? Someone of the same gender, or someone of the opposite gender? (Excluding the obvious exceptions.)
There could be some kind option (through cursor) to see quickly players real sex (m/f/b), age class (0-20/20-40/40-120), language skills, pve/pvp. So you could approach similarly thinking people easier. And there should be button to throw gold sellers to hell. I have played two ? days now after loooooong pause and my black list is kilometers long of those people. Cancer of this game. About topics: I am man in game and in real life MRRRRRRRR
Because I am female.
I chose Miqo'te because I like less human characters. Roe and Elezen look too human to me. I'm not a fan of shorter races. Yeah I know Miqo'te are just humans with cat ears and a tail, but the and a tail gives them more than just the ears being different lol. I'm hoping the new race will be less human, but I'm guessing it'll either be a floppy ear bunny girl or a human with horns.
well I play male character becouse Im male :)
