Yeah definitely needs so many more items.
Been quite some time and i see that this topic need some Resurrection . The dev might have kept this topic aside because of the minority players possessing a Large house. I hope the dev team really need to take some serious look over this matter. The amount of time spent to acquire this massive plot is not a joke.
For the loose game mechanism over such time taxing item really needs to be fixed. It's simply unfair. It also applies to the various game mechanism that se charted across eorzea . It makes no sense and were badly decided. As what others has implied, 200 for such a gigantic structure is nut. It should be 300-400 at least.
How long does the dev team plans to ignore on this subject or postpone this.
all homes have too small of a limit.
my med fc is at max, my small personal home is at max.
its annoying to have to always remove an item to add in a new item. fine details can not be added in any home to suit my standards that I can obtain in other mmos
time to remove limits se or at the very least double all of them. limit limit limit seems to be the norm in ffxiv housing
Getting close to half full without really touching the basement or second floor at all. Hilarious joke SE, now give mansions 300 spaces so we can have 100 per floor like any rational person would.
Either that or start condensing a lot of the furniture. The new Retainer Counter, for example, is a Glade Counter, 2 Glade Lamps, an Inkwell and Classified Documents; 5 items condensed into 1. That is brilliant. Now let us take a dinning table and 4 chairs and turn them into 1 thing, or give us longer partitions and pillar-edged partitions to save space indoors.
The only answer we've got so far is this:
Maybe they will increase it one day ^^Quote:
Yoshida: There’s an issue where we won’t be able to increase the amount of land if we allocate too much data resources to houses. Our plan is to first add as much land as we can. After this, we’d like players to build a lot of houses and once the needs of the players have been met we would like to increase the amount of items that can be placed. We are placing the highest priority on making it so a lot of players can possess a house, and then we will look into increase the amount of items that can be placed.
Well that made me go; "Didn't they say recently that they feel they've fulfilled the demand for plots? I remember people on overpopulated servers being butt hurt over it...", so I went and looked for that and this seems relevant (sauce) and more recent;
Has me somewhat hopeful for the next few patches. Gold Saucer next month, and the only Free Company content on the horizon is Housing related, so you'd expect adjustments at the same time, unless they go "herpderp you have the same amount of space for furniture but now you have a crafting basement to furnish too!"... OK I can actually see that happening... 3.2 for the win?Quote:
A: We’ve been using all our energy to increase the amount of land, so we haven’t been able to touch this aspect of housing. However, with the new wards that were added, I feel that we’ve just about fulfilled the demands.
We’ll continue to add more land, but we’d like to improve the utility of each house.
However, the team that is in charge of housing, known as the Live Team, is also in charge of Free Company elements and the Gold Saucer, and they’re currently devoting all their energy to Free Company crafting and the Gold Saucer. We expect that they will be able to address this afterwards, but they will need a bit of time.
wow a large house is only 200? hell thats about what i want for my small house... i almost got 100/100 down stairs alone and it still feels like it could use more. PLEASE INCREASE SE!!!
If we keep getting new furnishings, can we please get more space? It seems silly to have to remove things already set up for a new piece. Especially considering usually in the large houses one floor is totally empty. Our basement has been empty for over a year now.
All item limits are too small!
BUMPING FOR AWARENESS! Yoshi-P! Are you listening!!!
RAISE ALL LIMITS!!!
I would sacrifice additional housing if the item limits could be increased and dead plots were freed up.
They were pretty much very preoccupied with golden saucer and 2.5 fart 2.
Don't seems to have any intention to raising the item limit because of the stingy budget capacity servers they had.
Bumps up untill it hits Yoshida's head on this matter.
Increasing indoor limit is great and all, but please do not forget about outdoor furnishing. I hit 40/40 just by placing some trees around the house, it's really depressing.
Agreed. So much empty space around the House. And with a certain exterior you get that ugly dirt/mud covering thing and you can't exactly cover it up with trees/plants.
As for the inside, we definitely need more item allotments. 200 just isn't enough. 250 would be a start but shouldn't stop there either. Also need a Furniture slot for FC chests.
Yes. The mansion looks really empty with 200 item limit.
While i understand the Server restraints and Such could we please have this item limit for houses both indoor and outdoor looked into? perhaps maybe increase it sometime during 3.0 ? there are so many wonderful furniture combinations that can be made using the small furniture such as a chess board combo, but they can take up massive item allotments ( the chessboard im referring too takes up 87 item slots). So can we have this looked into ? thank you for reading.
I agree with everyone so far. the housing item limit is to small. even for a small house 100 items is not enough to really make the house your own - housing in this game is such a nice addition to the game play and i would really like to express myself more in housing and i hope that we get more item slots to do so in all the sizes of houses.
a bump to knock some senses into the dev. please do something about the empty 200 mansion limit. It's silly and dumb idea.
Yeah it is. So many people ask me why our basement is empty :(
I haven't set foot in my Large house in 2 months because of the limitations. There's nothing for me to do with it at this point. I just use the FC for everything.
I still say all the houses should get a bump up in item limits. Or at least change it to where things like rugs and wall hang ups don't take up slots. But still all houses need more space >_>
Resurrecting an old thread, please think of upping the amount of items in all houses in 2.55! My medium house seems bare, I really wish table top items and furnishings like plants did not count. I would love to make my personal house feel like a real house but I just do not have the space. I say double all housing slots inside, add 10 more slots outside! I love decorating my house :-D
I know this is low on the devs priority list but you can really make houses look unique when you add more smaller items like scattered documents, etc. I would love for mine to feel special but do not think I am capable of it with the current limitations.
will not happen, if you have notice we can no longer put the new event items into the armoire, and the dev admit they have reach the server limit. So 3.0 is what you should pray and hope for.
But how do you use all that 150 items ? I only use around 80/150 for the whole house (I would like to see the picture if you don't mind sharing)
After decorating a mansion (and running out of Gil multiple times), I'm at 186/200 items, and I have to say a bare minimum increase should be 250 items for mansions.
Got some really empty spaces I'd like to fill up there.
The other thing that baffles me is that every single Seasonal Event is now offering Furniture rewards as the main 'prize'.
A large portion of the playerbase has no house and nowhere to put these rewards.. whilst the rest have long filled up all the space available in their houses.
So why are Seasonal Events even offering furniture as rewards?
Do the different Dev teams not talk to each other?
Bumping this for good measure. The house-making was proceeding so well until one minute my total was 75/150, the next time I looked I could only put up 10 more items and with the top floor looking almost completely bare still! D: Please take raising the cap into some consideration devs; by at least doubling the totals - or making it so that some of the smaller items don't count towards the total.
One of the most annoying items are the useable foods which leave behind empty plates that count toward the total until removed.
For an FC, you need an Officer (or whoever has removal rights) to be on constant dirty dish removal duty.
These sort of items should not count toward the space limit and should also be entirely deleted when they are finished with, instead of leaving an object behind like a plate or cup.
Agreed - the walls in my house are way too bare. Could use some more rugs, too, for that matter. I'd say the limits should be moved to something like 150, 225, and 300 for the three sizes. Then I could finally put something on my desks/tables for a change.
It would also be nice if they raised the limit on lawn items (say 40, 50, 60) - could use some more trees in my yard. But I get that being limited since it's an open space and could cause some issues loading more housing items each time you zone into the district. More of a burden than inside houses where fewer people will be present at any given time.
There's really no reason for the caps to be so low inside the house, though - especially when they're constantly adding housing items. Getting tired of having to swap things around while I still have space to fill. It's ridiculous that a mansion which has more than 6 times the space of a cottage can only hold twice the items.
The development team is aware of the numerous requests to increase the amount of furnishings that can be placed both indoors and outdoors. Although it is difficult to give more details on this at this time, we haven't stopped considering this, and we'll be sure to let you know once we have more updates.
It's a great reply and we're always happy to have a reply, but is that truly the ONLY issues that the devs are aware of (or care about) regarding housing?
I agree outside should all get at least 5-10 more slots. Inside small 25, medium 50, and large 100 more slots each. Right now the majority of medium and large houses don't put anything in their bottom floor because of the lack of slots.
well 200 for a large is close to enough but for items on top of tables and stuff needs to be about 230 - 250 to make it look ok.
Honestly I don't think small houses need any more furniture slots. I've walked into cottages of players who are creative/smart with their furniture and they literally have no bare spaces on both floors and are still able to use a lot of small furniture items; something that is nearly impossible with medium and large houses if you want to decorate all floors equally.
Would love to hear if there are any new updates in regards to this. When I read the 'Housing' section of the letter from the letter from the live producer update thread and saw no mention of plans to increase the cap I was pretty disappointed.
Hopefully when they deal with the abandoned plots issue more people will realize how big of an issue the 200 item limit cap really is. Not many of us have large houses, but for those of us that do the cap really kills any joy to be had decorating.
I have to keep one half of my house closed off by walls (which also take up item slots) just so the other half doesn't look bare and terrible, and whenever they release a new furniture item that I want, I have to sit there and think hard about what I can remove to make room for it, which is no fun at all.
We've been waiting patiently for months/years now. Please consider doing something about this sometime before I die, SE!
