i think there are some paladins out there that never bothered reading cover skill description... it works like it says 100% of the time... if youre in the range the skill tells you to be from your target... and a good combos is cover on target and hallowed on self...so you dont take collateral damage from other classes while taking lets say all your healers damage...
@Fyreus If you have time go watch Sleepyknight's stream on Twitch. He's playing with a paladin tank who uses cover when needed and it works everytime his target stays in range of it.
Really getting a good laugh out of all these SMNs and SCHs tossing out the flak at everyone because they will probably be getting nerfed. Literally seeing fights where the SMNs are getting more damage than the combined damage output of the other 7 players fighting in the match.
True but BB is OP as hell and will probably get nerfed. They did mention there were other adjustments besides smn. SMN has 2 attacks in its PvP skill set, neither of which come anywhere near this, even the two of them combined don't touch it.Quote:

Please don't report people jumping. They're not doing anything the game doesn't explicitly allow, and not everyone mines the forums for dev posts.
The devs need to fix the jump issue, until then it's a very basic inherent part of the game so it's fair game.

Has anyone tried Archer as a class? You don't really gain much skill wise using the bard stone (other than foes). Cross class mercy stroke and you have 2 execution skills.
Here is the problem with Summoner's in pvp it's not the skill of the player that makes the Summoner OP or their damage it's parties ignoring them and letting them get there dots set up now if a Tank sits on a Sumomer they will be immobilized and damage potential is useless. No matter what an equally skilled Tank will defeat an equally skilled Summoner it's a brute fact. If anything needs to be nerves is leash and sleep cause right no the real PvP balance is Black Mage>Healer>Tank>Dragoon>Bard>Summoner=Monk.
What really needs to be nerfed is the Bard I lost count the number of times on Bard has destroyed my entire party
I dont care what the "Combo Potency" is, I only care about the actual damage I get hit for. what I know is it seems to do a lot more damage than my fester with all dots (potency 300), or my pvp skills (potency 170).
Its funny that you're even including rage of halone in that sentence... RoH never deals like 1500+ damage, in large part because PLD doesn't have access to as many damage boosting cooldowns.
The 1500+ damage isn't because butcher's block is really strong, it's because we can burn all our attack cooldowns and use the pvp ability that lowers a targets damage resistance by 20% and does a DoT. Any class can burn damage buffs to do a ton of damage, the tanks you run into doing that are probably just better geared with high crit.
that is a really strange thing to say, considering everyone else has lost count of times they wiped to SMN or BLM sleeping people or running around spamming very instant debuffs that are very heavy. SMN can basically spam miasma 2 and that is 40% healing gone for other PT. ontop of that there is all other DOT and pet running around. please let me know how you are getting wiped by classes that cant sleep, raise, long CD shadowbind, average DPS, not being able to sprint due to loss of TP? it is very strange. I guess you would be satisfied if they removed BRD bow and tied their hands together!

Alternatively, you shouldn't let him be touching you because Miasma/Disease is incredibly stupid and crushes melee (actually everyone, but yeah).
Bards are annoying as a caster, but nerfed? Probably not.
Summoner offers so much more than anyone. Sustained, burst, utility, battle rez, a set-and-forget interrupt bot, and so on.
I'm really not sure what the people defending them think really happens in PvP.
Please SMNs, where's your proof that you don't deserve a nerf when SE gathered the information through their own data and research. :confused:Quote:

Personally I think you are just too annoyed to be "again" nerfed after the fiasco of losing "Thunder" from the THM. And again those adjustments are only made to balance the pvp.
By the way not only the SMN/SCH gets some adjustments ^^
Although I can imagine they will possibily nerf the MRD/WAR a little bit. Let us just wait for more information.

Not really if a Tank sits on a Summoner and stun and interrupt they'll be shut down considering one hit interrupts spells and it takes forever to cast our rotation unless PvP is like the trailer where everyone is letting each other attack each other in turns which never happens. Usually as a Summoner I get sleep by a Black Mage or White Mage and than everyone unleashes in all out attack and I'm dead before I get off a cast. Even if I cast Equilibrium I still get slaughtered by the entire party.
Square information and research is coming from this fantasy world PvP where players are letting each other get off their rotation which doesn't happen in real pvp in actual pvp Summoner's and Black Mages will be dead in the 1st 10s of the Wolves Den my PvP record by the is too abysmal for Summoner's to be nerfed. Unless they make it so nothing interrupts casting Summoner's should not be nerfed we should be buffed in terms of damage really because we have low defense and can't take a hit.
You've got peels in the form of Blizzard 2/Tri-disaster, and Miasma 2 + Sprint is enough to get away from a melee.
Go crossclass Surecast in addition to Equanimity.
Summoners have it INCREDIBLY easy when it comes to damage interrupting.
You've got a very large amount of instants.
I'm sorry, but if you're struggling so much that you think summoners are near the bottom of the food chain, something is very wrong. :/

At my posting limit but here goes:
There are a few bugs that's shown:
1) Cover+Hallowed ground doesn't work
2) Cover breaks HG (even after cover is up HG is still taking damage from hits it normally negates)
3) Cover is now an area effect for 1 person while the previous version was only 1 target behind you
4) In another video i forgot to record i'm pretty sure it covered damage from an opposing team as i ran by
I've encountered other strange things that happen when using 1 or 2 of those abilities but i no longer play pld/pve so i won't be posting much of it.
In the end everyone thinks their class is the weakest because we all know the weaknesses of our own classes and none other. In my opinion if you want to nerf pet classes just weaken the healing debuff of disease. That will make healers really hard to kill but that will be next month's complaint. At least people can move on from their SMN nightmares and I can be ignored even more and continue to do the highest damage on my team. If you want to play instead of whine hook up with Xen Of Onslaught on Sargatanas.
/sigh Nothing yet on something more interesting like a A/D Map, or BF style ticket map with all GCs fighting on one pvp map/zone or server even ?

I included Rage of Halone, because people were comparing MRD to PLD for damage output. You are telling me that the potency doesn't matter, but the damage does. Then you tell me your DoTs have a higher potency than Butcher's Block. Would you like to see my screenshot of a Summoner's pet hitting me for over 1700 damage with a crit? I think you are playing the FOTM class, and want the crap to roll downhill onto the one class that can still beat you, because you can't win as a class that can deal three times the DPS of any other class.
I vote makeing some changes to the way our matches are recorded in pvp.
Please make it only show total games played and your current rank, not how many wins out of how many games played.
Or only display the wins and not the total games played.
As a Summoner I really don't see the amazing damage in the Pvp battle summary usually my numbers are around 8,000 damage, Black Mage 10,000 damage Bard gets 14,000 damage and Dragoon is 17,000 damage. If Square is going by pure damage number Summoners should be buffed because a Dragoon or Black Mage constantly does twice the amount of Damage I do in PvP. Beside Summoners should always be doing insane damage since they have low defense, wear light armor and they can't take a hit Summoners have no defense if a Melee or Bard gets on to of the and I use swift cast, sure cast and equilibrium when able to. If a Summoner gets hit while casting they still take damage and die because we can't move while casting. If Square nerfs Summoner damage they should get an invincibility farm while casting to offset the nerf which will destroy Summoners I'm pvp
Most of the issues with the Summoner's Pet is because most Summoners wear ilvl 90 gear and Pets tale a snapshot of our stats when summoned getting more powerful with better gear. When I was wearing the ilvl 55 crafted gear my pet damage was abysmal. I literally stopped attacking once and saw how much damage my pet do with the crafted pvp gear I switched back to my myth gear because my pet was barely doing damage.
It's how real time pvp is certain comps are going to shut down Summoner's usually a Black Mage or Bard comp will destroy a Summoner because they'll never get off anything except bio and Miasma 2 which are weak compared to the rest of the dots and that's if we are not sleep for most of the match.
Only fixing 3 man queues? Lol that's funny coz I've been put against a full 4 man premade multiple times solo queueing. No it's not just a coincidence that their 4th was maybe randomly from the same server as the other 3, they're the same people again and again
