If a person cannot take constructive criticism, why are they playing a MMO?

Well...if you're doing it wrong, why not get corrected?

The tanks that leave are the ones who think that no one else in the universe has tank leveled. "You just heal and let me tank" like there is no possibility that the person who is correcting him has i90s, +1, and coil experience on their tank. It makes me laugh that bad tanks think they're irreplaceable.
That's like saying Healers and DPS shouldn't watch their hate 'cause they're not tanks, or healers should just stand their the entire run doing nothing, waiting for peoples HP to drop to top them up, because they're not DPS.
Reminds me of this Bard in Turn 2, we just get to the Slashing Resistance node and the Bard pops Hawkeye, Internal Release, Blood for Blood, and Raging Strikes... right as I'm pulling

Food for thought.
That comic teaches that we should not try to teach some people how to be more effective or more efficient; we should just cut them loose and let them have fun. I enjoy being as good as I can be in any game.
I'd like to just add here far as my two cents on party manners...
A combination of "please", "thanks", "if you've not noticed", and "whenever you have the chance" with your request work wonders.
Telling someone with Auto-Translate:
"<Protect> !"
"<Defiance> !"
"<Shield Oath> !"
Isn't going to exactly get you respect or *thanks for the reminder*.
It's like yelling "HEAL!!" whenever a WHM is spamming Holy AND also watching your HP (when in actuality they know that you won't die without heals / are 'field-aware'). A PLD or WAR not using their stances may judge that they're simply not needed ... eg, that the DPS is already geared well enough that they can take some hits, or judging the healer's workload is acceptable as-is.
It's not rude persay, to ask polite. Just remember to use more than one word when doing so and you'll lessen the chance of it sounding like a 'demand'.
--Whenever a person is genuinely trying their best, and perceive that the team dislikes their performance ... that's when problems happen in parties / drama occurs. Sometimes players get stressed out, especially in coil. A please goes a long way.
I tanked Garuda yesterday (PLD solo tank) nearly 20 times in a row for a FC weapon farming session.
The first few times I was a little conservative, getting used to the fight again and getting the positioning down.
Somewhere around the 8th run I got a Garuda Axe and swapped to WAR (slightly worse gear, average ~i70 instead of i80) and whilst the fight was a little bit harder (we wiped once. I died momentarilly to a silly unlucky spike hit and had "forgotten" to crossclass Provoke...) it was still doable. On the next run I got bored, swapped back to PLD, and proceeded to attempt to troll the rest of the group by tanking the next 10 or so runs nearly entirely in Sword Oath and occasionally purposely taking a Slipstream to the face. It didn't work, we just completed the runs slightly faster. Even the time where I purposely ran in instantly to avoid getting a Protect and didn't use a single cooldown until after she used "Reckoning"! :p
I'm going to try Kiting her ANTIclockwise next time. And if that doesn't work, I may have to resort to a Bikini run (if the lack of mitigation doesn't kill the party, the laughter will) :D
