SOMETHING with LS's Jesus~ the kick button by far is 100% needed~ let's do the bigger part and lead this to it's creation~

Getting ridiculous at this point.
LSs need to be SOMETHING other than a mind numbingly simple chat group. A chat group with literally no features by the way.
Are where the hell are public companies? We've been teased and pulled around these FOREVER!!!!
Give us something that a COMMUNITY can work together and strive for! Give us GROUP CONTENT that isn't mind numbingly easy zerg style battles (I'm looking at you behest, you're still stupid as hell)...
And for f's sake give us a goddamn KICK OPTION!
It's just EMBARASSING that MMOs from nearly 10 years ago had much better guild/group options... At launch! Ragnarok Online's guild system is absolutely mind-blowing compared to this stupid LS crap.
And not a single Dev or CM will bother responding because they know full well LSs are still gonna be as stupid and simple as they were at launch even a year afterwards... I've used the word before but embarassing really is the right term!
As a sack holder for a shell that is going to have to have its 5th reform pretty soon, /signed.
Adding and removing members from a linkshell should be basic functionality, and I was anxiously looking through today's patch plan for it to no avail. SE is introducing a bunch of tutorials to help newer players get into the game, but I can tell you that I will not invite a newer player into my shell because the chance of them just disappearing and forever occupying that spot is too high. Let us kick people. Let us prune the people who haven't been on in months, or who quit the game but never dropped their pearl. Give us SOMETHING to manage the largest social aspect of this MMO. I am tired of reforming every couple months and then spending weeks chasing people down who didn't show up, or forgot, or didn't hear about it and thought we all quit.
Honestly, I would rather have this than chocobo's/airships in the next patch. Can I trade? Please? You can keep my chicken, just let me clean my shell so I can start inviting people again.
..............bump
Couldn't agree more, I remember the pain of trying to track down a member once to kick them, not a fun night.
Luckily for me he dropped pearl before I found him.
Personally I feel the ability to remotely kick people from the shell should be high priority.
Well the ability to remotely do anything you can do in the LS menu should be.
The fact that a dev took the time to reply to my thread about the chocobo system name, yet none have responded here truly baffles and dumbfounds me.
Seriously, how hard can it be to program a functional LS system?
What gives, devs?
Maybe they got thier hands full making a /hide pants command.
Joking aside we really need an update on this.
Yes please, not that I own an LS myself, but I've seen a good number of troublemakers. There is at least one in every LS.
I agree, it is getting ridiculous that people constantly ignore that SE said it will be fixed but it has to be after server fixes which they've clearly been focusing on the battle system.
No company ever has functioned properly without priorities. Ever. It's impossible to get work done if they drop a major project for something that requires a lot of attention and resources (Server fixes) in order to work on.
Protip: The battle system is the most important system to the majority of MMORPGs out there to date -- Anyone who says otherwise is delusional, we all know when we play MMOs we're usually attracted to the type of raid content we can do with family and friends.
They've answered everything, when the server gets fixed, these fixes will come into play, it's what happens when you need to use a serverside interface.
They answered this subject numerous times already.
Ware is this in depth answer we've gotten mutli times? Not one letter from YP or any info for that matter that explains a reason why~ they have yet to had a LS Admin which is a key and basic feature to any MMO how can you take care of bad apples or members who leave for personal reasons and forget to drop shell? " Re Pearl? " I think not... Give us a command or button... for the love of god~ The battle System really? The linkshell system is used every second on the servers to plan for what? Hmm idk BATTLES... hahah~ just fix the issue and 20933049 threads will die~
Do yourself a favor and don't pay attention to Jenn. She/he tends to puke up all sorts of tripe justifying all sorts of BS. Fact of the matter is this very BASIC function should have been implemented several patches ago - never mind the vaunted 1.18 patch. But whatever, this isn't a matter of debate - I'm going to bump this daily till something happens.
Guess that will take awhile.
Hopefully after 1.19 (sooner would be nice) we will get some updated word on this. Simple matter of fact, the more they fix the game and introduce new content the more this issue will stand out. I for one really want an ls message feature along with several other current gen mmo standards, like a ls bank, ls quests, ls perks, ls tax, along with these basic features.
If it's going to take time, that's ok, I would just like an update as to the timeframe, along with their plans for the ls in the future.
I agree they have their priority list and that's good, I'm not asking for miracles, just an update regarding the LS :)
Letting leaders kick people from their own LS would be too rash. Why don't we use the more polite method of sending an in-game mail informing the recipient that they are no longer welcome in the LS! (oh wait, we don't have that either? F**k it. Just give us the LS control thingies.)
Server-side issues, just like delivery box, trading, search functionality, etc.
You have to wait.
Well i don't know how much work this function really take to just add the command. But assuming they will say that they are working on all battle issues after that is done we will cover other stuff.. bla bla bla...
I agree adding addtional features to manage Linkshells would be nice. I do not think this has missed the developers. They are aware of the major issues facing the game. They are working around the clock to fix and give us content suitable to the Final Fantasy genre. Try to understand that the game is not complete. With so much to do Sometimes simple things like this get pushed back because of the bigger thngs. I think it was right to bring it up on the forums. The dev team will probly add it to future tasks. Remember you cannot expect immediate results as they are always working a patch ahead. So it may end up on 1.20 or even farther out.
this still a simple thing to add im pretty sure and wont take them long. Probably skip a coffee break to do this.
i think i posted in this thread before. i'll just re-affirm.
Please god yes give me control of my bloody shell!
I understand that things take time to write or rewrite code for a program. I've done it plenty of times myself, depending on what the bosses want. Sometimes a program or a script is written a specific way that when it needs to be changed the baseline code needs to be completely rewritten.
With that being said, the code to remove people anywhere in the world is already in the game, look at the social list. You can add and remove people on your social list and not be anywhere near them to do this. Yes I understand that linkshells and social lists aren't the same thing but they are very similar in the way they run.
However, as an avid programmer and gamer I do understand that the FFXIV development team is currently focusing on some very severe issues to make this game playable. I would much rather the development team stick with fixing the inherent flaws of this game then work on game aspects that while they are annoying as hell does not detract from the game.
I want more people to play, and face it people aren't going to say "I'm not playing because you can't kick people from your linkshell easily!"
Get
Nope, but people are more likely to say "Seriously, after almost a year you still haven't added this?" Or "I'm tired of breaking and remaking my LS over and over again", etc, etc. No matter which way its dissected it should have been added in the game ages ago that is fundamental.
we have had to reform 5 times now last one was a month ago and we are already at 122/125 at which probably 90% are active. we dont want to have to reform just to clear maybe 10 spots, for the love of god please give us at the least the ability to remove players from anywhere in the world regardless if they are online or not.
This describes too many LSes.
Apparently me bumping my thread is considered spam. I would not need to bump it if this issue was addressed by direct concert answers here (or anywhere on the forums) or better yet in a producers not. I will still be bumping this daily - I guess I'll just have to make it more "wordy".
marking your thread IMPORTANT and posting abt the Ls system ..... is ....u better be trolling....or ...
pffffff
Still no controls...
Please let us remove inactive people from our linkshell
lol this is a very real issue and I'm sure THOUSANDS of players will be greatly appreciative when it finally becomes a dev priority.
They say it's impossible due to the way the server structure is currently. But I can't say I believe that. We already have this system via Party Menu & Friend List Menu... Do the same for LS.
Can't help but notice there are no mentions of LS controls in the newest producer letter.
I also want text commands. /cm l4 /cm l2 /search all con
I really hope that this issue if sorted, as a LS leader this is one of the most annoying things in the game not being able to clean out the ls without reforming >.< Also a message system is greatly needed these are basic functions....and something that was put forward in the Alpha test but nothing was done sadly!! So please sort this out for us.
Bump for continued support. My LS was reformed yet again a couple months ago and we already have probably 20 people who have quit or are just plain inactive. Such a waste of space! D:
