DEVS - Please allow cutscenes to not even be loaded/auto-skipped

Just to explain something, if it is in fact a speed run in a place such as Prae then that 3-5 seconds can seriously screw someone over, especially if you fall behind when mobs are being trained by the tank, if you fall to far behind all agro might switch onto you, and you'd get left behind, personally I would like to see an option to turn cutscenes off as well as an option to select Speed run from the duty finder, that way when you are buckled down for a speed run you know you are getting just that in case you have to pug it.

Airships pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I really hate airship loadings..
Purchase ticket > loading > Enter in area > enter airship > loading > cutscene > loading > cutscene arriving > loading > enter in area - exit area > loading > arrived destination.

I really prefer to pay 500+ gil for teleport than paying 200 for airship and taking hours to arrive at destination bc of loadings

Then watch them. If they did add this I'm sure it will be an option in the Config Menu.

Also I don't think it really matters anymore cause the main place's where CSs were a problem was Castrum/Praet runs and now that WP has 100 phil tome and can be done faster than prate I don't see why anyone cares now.

Best thing about the "Hotfix" we shouldn't have to see any more threads about people crying cause they are being rushed to get out of CS's Cause Castrum/prate aren't that great to grind now for tomes.

FYI I never cared who does and who doesn't watch CS long as you didn't leech.

100 times this. Now that WP is worth running having to watch the Cutscenes in a story instance shouldn't be that big of a deal.

Also you wouldn't happen to be Arki from WoW Turalyon and know Chop And Spork?

to be honest I don't think this should happen, those whom like the cut scenes will be hassled for watching them. to be honest it is the timer that is the issue, the timer should automatically stop when
1. when some or all are watching the cut scenes.
2. if a member leaves or is dced.

Or the option to team with people who have adult attention spans and can suffer the WHOLE 30 SECONDS it takes for someone to watch a cut scene. Some of us use this time to go grab a beer from the fridge.

No this needs to happen because playing on PS3 the 8-10sec delay from getting out of a CS is real annoying and I'm not playing on PC for that reason. And the option to skip CS's should only be able to be used once you have cleared a dungeon, So if it's your first time then you can watch or skip manually.

1.) I disagree with you that the timer should stop if someone is in a CS, Because if someone has to AFK and a CS pops then the rest of the party has to wait for them to come back. 99% of the time most groups can carry 1-2 ppl that are afk. I've done AK with 3 ppl cause the other DD had to afk and they never came back after the 1st boss
Now a leech on the other hand that needs attention cause it is a problem.

2.) I do agree with you that if a member DCs or leaves that the timer should be stopped because if your tank or healer is gone then your screwed. I can't think of any Dungeon I have ever done where the timer was an issue maybe Stone Vigil but even then there was plenty of time.

I haven't used the airship since I was able to teleport, but I do like the animations when I take the airship.

well me too
i set my favorite places to 3 main cities and the teleport cost is the same as airship ticket
you can even get it cheaper with FC buff

the problem is you literally have to spam dungeons 15 times to get myths for a single af, so the cs's are a huge pain.

Like for Op. This option should've been in the game from the very beginning. This is not only an issue for PS3, but for players with slow loading PCs(I tried playing on my secondary q6660/5770 machine and everything seemed to take forever)

If possible, this is something I'd like to see added during the next hotfix, not major patch. This is creating an issue that will more than likely ruin end-game for a lot of fresh 50's, so it should be top priority.

Thank you! It would mean a lot to people who play on PS3 and/or slow PCs if you could implement this for us.

Seriously, how much time do cut-scenes add? Probably 2mins at most. Is it that bad that a run takes 15 mins instead of 13 mins? If that 2mins is a deal-breaker for you, you shouldn't be queing up for a run. You really don't have the time, and its not other peoples problem if your "down to the wire" time-wise. Get over yourself and grow up. Talk about first-world problems. :p

What ps3 takes 30 seconds to load up a CS before you can skip it o.0

At the most mine takes like 2-3 seconds longer than when on pc.. CS are usually triggered near bosses or at the start, and the boss rooms have a 15 second timer before it seals off, nobody should be left behind unless they just not paying attention, or internet is just not that great and using wifi on top if it being not that great or something..

When you enter these dungeons for the first time for story mode, you would want to immerse yourself in the story. That is what FF is all about. However, the issue is everyone is using your story dungeon for farmng.

If SE did not give you the option of watching your cutscene in the inn, and not give us the option to skip cutscenes, then I can understand watching cutscenes all the time.

You have the option of watching the cutscene at your own leisure in the inn room, and all cutscenes are there, just you have to look. CAST alone has 11 scenes, each ranging from 15sec - 45sec. That is like 6-8min just on cutscenes.

Now you first timers I get your grief, but you have to understand the other people point of view. When we have to farm to get FULL DL, that is 5010 tomes of phi. That means they have to run 50 CAST to gear up. imagine if all 50 runs you have to watch cutscenes. Almost an hour worth of cutscenes.

Either separate out the story with the speeders or you gonna have to deal with the speed runners coz they are the majority now.

30 seconds? wtf connection you got...I'm on ps3 and my load screens are barely even 10 seconds I'm usually first to skip scenes before most PC players in my FC....

Besides wanting to be able to make my HUD layout even smaller(the smallest right now feels like it takes up over half of the screen. :/ On the other MMO I play, I made my interface(aka HUD) *TINY* and translucent... I absolutely love it that way.), turning off cutscenes is one of the features I'd like to see implemented as soon as possible.

u can make them smaller with Ctrl + Home in the hud layout.

Now this is finally an idea that sounds like a great fix for all involved, I don't see why new players should feel under pressure to not watch there cut scenes because some guys in party have already seen it and done dungeon many times is not going to spoil my enjoyment of the game. I for one wont rush through any cut scenes that i haven't already seen and if that keeps my party waiting then tough...Deal with it!. If the timer started after the cut scenes then that is a great idea.

a). Provide a toggle option when queing for a DF run to dissable all cut scenes.
b). Add an additional layer to the DF system based on the average item level for a player and match up similar geared players together (speed runners will love this) and if it's over a certain threshold perhaps auto dissable cut scenes?

Didn't read all of the posts yet so I don't know if this has been mentioned, but if you examine a player and look at the bottom right of their character screen it will tell you what their PS3 Username is. This might only show up if you examine from a PS3 but I assume it shows up regardless. This means all a player has to do is examine another player to tell if they are PS3 or PC.

My PS3 regularly takes 45s+ to load the first CS in Prae and 20-45s to load every other CS. This does not include skipping and waiting for the game to load itself again. This is my speedtest result so you can see that is has nothing to do with my connection.

btw, NONE of you would have survived in FFXI. I don't remember being able to skip transportation CS or in-game CS. That game was a time sink! It was a hurry up and wait game. Always waiting for ships, boats, transport CS, etc....

Oh well I digress and LOL @ you all.

they allready keep a list of what cutscenes you have veiwed, its a simple step from there to add an option to auto skip the ones you have seen

CS in XI where very minor. Yes you had to wait for airships and such, but CS was hardly noticeable (imo at least). CS to get into sea and sky where very quick and painless unlike the dungeon CS in XIV, and they where not places often going in and out of over and over. Longest recurring CS I recall was Besieged starting CS which weren't that bad because besieged couldn't be spammed over and over. Most endgame content had barely any CS, VW being a great example. Zero CS. In Dyna you had initial CS the first time you go but it's a 1 time thing. In XIV, you spam things over and over and OVER and have to constantly skip 2+ CS in a single dungeon which makes it more of a pain/noticeable than in XI.
