Also keep in mind people look for DL geared people because they themselves are DL geared (usually).

So if they put in the effort to get better gear, why can't they expect others to do the same?

Also keep in mind they are shouting for these people, because they CAN find people that fit their criteria.

So why should they pick you when they can find someone with similar skill who's better geared? Or do you have the hubris to assume you're the best healer they're going to find?

People are grinding these primals for weapon drops, which can require many tries. So they aren't looking for a challenge on the 20th try. They are asking for people who are similarly prepared and that's fair. I did Ifrit HM and Garuda HM with my FC, and had nothing better than level 45/50 job quest gear. Other members were a mix of different items because we are all in different places in our progress. Everyone was cool, they were challenging but fun fights. I will not try Titan without better gear though. That just seems stupid.

It's not so much about the gear as it is effort into working on your character. If a group sees you've put in no effort outside of a few ak pieces then your ability is already doubted when you can't even get even a few dl pieces and do not care to progress your character and expect to be carried by far better geared people.

No one needs their relic unless they are planning on doing coil, are you planning on getting your relic and wanting to do coil in sub ak gear? Because if so you will be laughed out of every single group, if you don't plan on doing the hardest content then you do not need your relic just because everyone else has it.

more gear is more output, more output is a faster dead boss

in a pug community, value is having what most people don't have

if you want to play in a pug community you are going to have to acquire enough equipment to trivialize or downplay sloppy execution if you want to get anywhere.

it is impossible to tell how well anyone plays just by looking at them and their equipment, but in a pug community, your equipment is a symbol of your status as a player and your dedication to the game.

This is done in the interest of making the best investment of every party member's time.

But in the end, it is a party leader's decision to choose how to build their team. That is why they are party leader. If you don't like it, you could always make your own party.

I also like to add something to this conversation. I also believe that you don't need full DL to win most battles against the Hard primals. That said, people thinking that way seem to misunderstand something.

You, the one player in the party with full AF and level 48-60 accesories and/or weapon, beated <insert hard primal> with a group. Good for you! Now let's be honest. I can believe that a full party of people in their AF can beat ifrit(hard) and maybe Garuda to some degree. But Titan... If you beaten him with your group. The chances are high, that you were being carried by the group.

People need to understand that the fights are oriented to be beaten if certain criteria have been met by the PARTY AS A WHOLE. 6 fully geared DL+relic people can easily carry anyone through the 3 primals. The question a person should ask is "Did I beat this through skills or because my other party members were much better geared than me. And thus filling in the gap that I created by coming unprepared."

That right there is all I need to hear to disregard what you're saying. MAYBE needed for Coil? No, you need to be geared or you will die, then your party will die, and it will happen continously.That sort of attitude is complete crap, as is your thought that "I'm better than all these noobs trying Titan, so I'll do the fight not just slightly undergeared, but completely undergeared." I don't care what you've done in past games. I got world first in BC while raiding, but you know what? That still doesn't mean my character has the hp/weapon damage to do certain things. You DO need to be at least semi-geared for Titan HM, and saying otherwise makes you look like a whiny little brat who refuses to put in the time/effort/money to actually be PROPERLY prepped for the situation.

Get your own party going, assemble it yourself, and get past 30%, you'll simply die. Titan is a huge step up from Garuda, not a small increment but a huge one. If you want to beat yourself against a wall and bleed you can do it. But i would recommend as a bare minimum 50/50 Darklight/AK gear to try Titan.

Binding Coil... don't even try it under-geared.

Having beat Garuda HM means nothing. Titan is not only more difficult as a skill check, but certain abilities make it a straight up gear check. If you have a level 28 fucking choker, then go run CM 4 times and get your darklight one. I wouldn't invite you to a Titan group either. Abilities like Tumult will rock you no matter how good you think you are if you have less than 3/3.2k hp. There are undodgeable abilities and dps checks that don't give a FUCK how tight your rotation is, you have to have the gear.

yeah, sorry, looking at your gear on the lodestone it makes me cry. I wanted to be on your side for this one. I really did... but your gear. has. no. real. attempt. to. be. decent. ESPECIALLY that absolutely tasty 38 shield. At least go get AK greens and THEN we can talk about what can and can't be done on Titan. (And for your shield, there are a couple options for you to get at least something in the 40s on... or go back to a 2h weapon)
